Fri. July 31st.
Warn sunny and no wind today, again about 82f (28c). In the morning I went to Strathroy for birthday gifts for our 2 yougest grandsons. Back home we had lunch and a bit more waxing of our coach enjoying the perfect day.Lots of peaople moving in to the resort now, pretty well full for the long weekend. A delicious supper was prepared by Jon, Dutch beef, baby potatoes and fresh beans we all enjoyed. Later chatted again with a few neigbours on another warm summer evening.

Thurs. July 30th
Bright and sunny warm day today about 82f (28c). We left at 8.00am for a day trip to the St.Jacobs farmers market and stock yards with Jon & Angelo. We passed by Punkeydoodles Corners then on to the market. Here we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the market, including a cattle auction. Grabbed a bite to eat and check out all the fresh produce and meat vendors. After this we had a short visit with my mother and for a coffee. From here we stopped by the farm for another short visit and pick up our mail. Returning home we enjoyed some BBQ'd garlic sausage (from the market) on a bun with potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw for supper.

Wed. July 29th
Early morning rain, then warm and sunny all day. I made some sausage rolls with puff pastry for a snack then did a bit more waxing of our coach (its looking real good) We relaxed a bit reading in the shade for a while and BBQ'd some chicken, grilled peppers and rice for supper. Afterwards we enjoyed a nice evening chatting with friends and neighbours.

Tues. July 28th
Overcast in the morning for a bit a, then sunny for most of the day about 85f (30c). We did laundry today and puttered around for awhile. At about 5.00pm we had a (now daily) thunderstorm that lasted about 20 minutes, so I washed the coach in rain. For supper we BBQ'd steak ,baked potatoes and sweet peppers. Then sat out and chatted with neighbours again for a while.

Mon. July 27th
A warm sunny day mostly around 80f (26c). We puttered around a bit and had a yummy brunch of belgium waffles, sausage and poached eggs cooked by Angelo. The rest of the day was exercising my back, reading and chatting with a few neighbours followed by a delicious cold pasta salad for supper prepared by Jon. And sit outside enjoying the warm evening air.

Sun. July 26th
This morning was overcast and rainy, until it cleared up about 10:00am. We then took Jon and Angelo to the Pinery Flea market, and on to Grand Bend beach. Here we had a nice lunch at The Growling Gator restaurant on their patio overlooking Lake Huron. Followed by a walk up Main St to check out the shops and sites. Back to the lake and walked the boardwalk, pavilion and the huge area with many beach volleyball courts set up. We returned back home about 4.00pm and relaxed outside until another major thunderstorm about 6:30pm with heavy rains and high winds lasting about 20 minutes. Followed by a light snack for supper and a relaxing evening inside.

Sat. July 25th
Warm with cloudy periods today. I woke up with back still sore so back to chiropractor in Grand Bend. Back home we had lunch and I put ice and heat on my back, relaxed a bit and attempted to walk about the resort a bit. By late afternoon was feeling much better. At 5.00pm there was a thunderstorm and very heavy rain and wind for about 20 minutes, then it stopped and the sun came back out for the rest of the day. Supper was leftover ham and scalloped potatoes. Then we were outside chatting with our neighbours on a lovely warm evening.

Fri July 24th
A bright sunny day and around 75f (24c). I called a chiropractor in Grand Bend and had an adjustment on my back this morning. I returned home for lunch and then we took Jon & Angelo for nice drive to Pork Franks to see the sandunes by the lake. This reminded Jon of the beaches back in Holland where he was originally from. And he just happened to meet a nice young couple from Holland and chatted with them for while. From here we drove to Ipperwash beach and walked in the warm water for a while enjoying the nice warm breezes. We then proceeded to Kettle Point then onto Forest and back to our resort, for a very delicious dinner of a chicken club? with strawberries, avocados , and spinach salad.

Thurs. July 23rd
Warm today but overcast. I took Jon into Forest to get some Canadian cash from the bank machine and pick up a few groceries. Their first time in Canada in over 40 years and he loves the countryside.
Back home we puttered around a bit and cooked a nice supper of Bone in Ham scalloped potatoes and broccoli with cheese sauce and invited them to share it with us. After supper Harry, Jackie and their grandkids on the other side of us had a nice campfire and we all joined them for a while before turning in for the night.

Wed. July 22nd
A cloudy day today but not raining. I made a quick trip to Waterloo at 8.00am for another chiropractor adjustment then back to the farm. We phoned Sicards RV to check the status of our coach and were told it should be ready by 2.30pm. So we left and stopped to visit Jessica and the boys and see the new puppies. Then headed to Hamilton for our coach. We arrived and checked out the new paint, (front and rear of the coach) Painter Dave did a really nice job. The new slide topper awning was not yet installed so we had to wait a couple of hours for that. Once done we were on the road to Rock Glen Resort in Arkona arriving here about 7.00pm. We set up grabed a bite and talked to Harry & Jackie, Rich & Marylou and Jon & Angelo who came to Canada from Lafayette Louisiana to visit with us. Chatting for a while to catch up before heading in for the night.

Tues. July 21st
Today was cloudy and a b cooler. There was rain sprinkles starting around 2.00pm. In the morning we went to Suzie's doctor's appointment in Kitchener at 9.00am then visited my mother for coffee, from here off to my doctor then back to the farm in the afternoon. We puttered around for a while then cooked up a bunch of chicken wings with Chinese food for supper, followed by a nice sunset on the porch.

Mon. July 20th
We packed up early and took our coach to Sicards RV for some paintwork. We have to leave it for 3 days so we will be houseless. From here we drove to the farm where we will stay until our coach is ready, it was promised for wednesday about noon.
Later we cooked supper of BBQ'd sausage, new potatoes, veggies and a salad for us and Suzie's family, a nice get-together.

Sun. July 19th
Nice bright morning and the 2 grandsons came to visit our "house" in their driveway and watch cartoons for a while. A bit later we packed up and hit the road heading to 50 Point Conservation Area near Hamilton. We after some slowdowns on the QEW we arrived at about 1:30pm and set up camp. We visited with Larry and Mar for a while then had them over for supper, Marilyn brought some great brushetta then we BBQ'd a back bacon roast, garlic mashed potatoes and a salad, chatted for a while then turned in for the evening.

Sat. July 18th
Bright, sunny and warm this morning as we pack up to hit the road. After goodbyes with neighbours we are o mobile at 9.45am. A nice drive east thru the rolling hills of southern Ontario we arrive at my daughter's in Aurora 2- 1/2 hours later. We chatted for a while and helped the assemble bunk beds for the 2 boys. Later we went to see my cousin and her husband for a wonderful visit and an amazing feast, appetizers, mixed grill with chicken, sauage and porkchops, salad, tasty green beans, roasted potatoes, yummy fresh bread followed by a desert bowl of ice cream, fresh fruit, cranberry, orange scones espresso. Then back to our coach for the evening.

Fri. July 17th
Another nice summer day, mostly sunny and warm. We puttered around most of the day, chatted with a few neighbours and relaxed. Steve and Barb cooked a delicious supper of shrimp, cabbage and egg noodles for us. Then we enjoyed a campfire with Ron and Karen after they arrived from Hamilton for their week of holidays.

Thurs. July 16th
Bright sunny awesome day around 85f (30c). We played the daily holy board game at 10.00am with a bunch of people, Suzie won one game and I lost 2 but always fun. I picked up a few groceries, and finished polishing and waxing our coach today. Chatted with some neighbours and read a while. Supper was BBQ'd hamburgers and sweet potato fries (yummy). Followed by a nice campfire with Steve & Barb on this nice mild evening.

Wed. July 15th
Beautiful sunny and warm about 85f (30c) most of the day. We took a drive to Bobcaygeon this morning, with Steve and Barb, Stopped by the cemetery to visit my father, then watched some boats at the lift lock in town and a fresh vegetable market. On the way back we stopped at Buckhorn Winery to sample and purchase some of their fine fruit wines. Following this we stopped at a chip truck to share some fresh cut fries, then home.
Steve and I then drove to Lakefield lumber yard to pick up some free wood for campfires, (we filled the trunk of his car). Back home I chatted with a couple neighbours then BBQ'd chicken , rice and squash for supper with strawberry shortcake for desert. It then was overcast and and sprinkled a few rain drops , so we decided to have a relaxing evening inside and watch some TV.

Tues. July 14th
Was bright and sunny again today about 85f (30c). We went into Buckhorn to the Craft and farmers market then returned home to a nice lunch of Steve's home made sauerkraut soup. I polished almost all the rest of the coach, then relaxed for a bit in the shade and had leftover roast beef, gravy, masked and veggies for supper, followed by a nice campfire at Steve and Barbs until dusk.

Mon. July 13th
Bright and sunny today only about 68f (19c). I went to Buckhorn for some groceries in the morning and when I got back in the car it would not start. A friendly motorist stopped and gave me a boast so I went back to camp. And removed battery teminals and replaced, now it works fine (this battery is only 1 month old). After lunch I went to Lakefield to do laundry and wash the car. I get back in the car and it did not start again. HHHMMMM. Nobody would give me a boost here , I fiddled for a bit , got the car going and returned to camp. I once again removed the battery teminals and on closer inspection found some acid corrosion from the old battery on the one connection. I cleaned this up real good and now hope for no more problems.
We visited with Steve and Barb for a bit then they joined us for a Spaghetti casserole, with chicken, sausage, hamburg, mushrooms, veggies, sauce,cheese and spaghetti leftovers from sundays supper and fresh Italian bread, yummy.

Sun. July 12th
Today warm but overcast for most of the day. A bit more polishing our coach and chatting with the neighbours. About noon Steve and Barb pulled in to everyones surprise, so we sat around a campfire and got caught up (we spent a month with them in Arizona) and then we had a nice supper of Chicken, spaghetti, sausage, garlic bread, Roast beef , mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies for 9 of us then we turned in about 8.30pm as Ron and Karen left for home to return to work.

Sat. July 11th
Nice a bright sunny warm day today about 80f (25c) most of the day. I did a bit more waxing on our coach then we played a dice game and cards with Ron and Tammy for the afternoon. Supper was BBQ'd pork chops and chinese noodles for supper. We were just settling down to watch TV about 8.30pm when Ron, Karen & Taylor showed up at their trailer next to us, so we sat out and chatted around their campfire for a while, nice surpise!

Fri. July 10th
Happy Anniversary Suzie
Today we celebrate 16 years of an awesome marriage. We had a great dinner last night and just kinda hung out here today, computing, reading, and more polishing the coach. Weather was bright, sunny and about 90f (34c) most of the day. We chatted with a few neighbours and had BBQ'd burgers and fries for supper. Life is good!

Thurs. July 9th
A beautiful sunny morning and warm. We rook a drive into Lindsay to for a bit of shopping and back home for lunch. We puttered around for a while then sat outside and chatted with various neighbours walking by on this lovely warm sunny day.
At 4.30 pm we drove to Bridgenorth to have supper for our Anniversary on friday. (Thursday night is not as busy). Chemong Lodge originally built in 1896 is a beautiful cozy dinning room on the shores of Chemong Lake. The food and service was excellent at a reasonable price as well.
Back home we chatted with a few more neighbours before turning in for the evening.

Wed. July 8th
Today mostly sunny and around 80f (26c) for the majority of the day. We drove into Peterborough to get our passport photos redone, as we found out that they had lost our previous photos and applications. We returned home and did some computing for a bit, with neighbour Larry then sat in the sun and read awhile. Supper was BBQ'd garlic sausage and rice. Then we chatted with Ron for a while until dusk when it began to get damp and chillly, and turned in for the day.

Tues. July 7th
A drizzly morning and about 70f (22c) most of the day warming up a bit in the afternoon with some sunshine for awhile. We after checking email we went for a short drive to Peterborough to do a bit of shopping then puttered around a bit, chatted with Ron and had BBQ'd chicken wings and fries for supper. Afterwards we relaxed and watched tv while it rained some more.

Mon. July 6th
Today was about 80f (25c) and mostly sunny. I went to the library in Buckhorn for email as the service at the Resort was not working very well. When I returned we spent most of the day outside. I washed most of our coach by hand with a bucket of water and began waxing the passenger side ( I did the other side in Algonquin). For supper we had BBQ'd a back bacon roast with some stroganoff noodles, then we chatted with neighbour Ron for a while.

Sun. July 5th
Sunny day all day and around 80f (25c), a relaxing day just putter about for a while, walkabout and read a bit. At 4.00 pm happy hour was at Bob's trailer so we joined a few people there to socialize for an hour. Then back home for a BBQ'd steak, baked potato and squash for supper.

Sat. July 4th
Nice bright sunny day about 70f (22c) most of the day. I went to Buckhorn for a few groceries then back home and compute for a bit. At 11.00 am there was a Canada Day Parade with Ranger Ron leading the kids on bicycles. After lunch there was a strawberry social at the clubhouse with home made shortcake and fresh local berries, yummy. We chatted with a few people there as well. We sat it the shade for a bit and read then scallops with fettuccini alfredo supper then saturday night at the movies on tv.

Fri July 3rd
Drizzly and damp again , so we pack up and move on to Galvin Bay near Buckhorn arriving at 1.00pm. We will be here now for 2 weeks. It was warm and humid the rest of the day. I spent time at the clubhouse with the owner as we figured out how to get a Mac to work on his secure wifi system, finally got it done.
Then BBQ'd chicken and rice for supper on a nice mild evening. And television channels back on.

Thurs. July 2nd.
Cool and rainy off and on all day again. We went to Whitney to check email, and get groceries. The internet was really slow today so did not get everything done after 1 & 1/2 hours sitting in the car. We stopped at Opeongo Store on the way back to check the scenery, then back home to do a bit more waxing between rain drops and reading. But the lake was calm and no wind , nice for the canoeists. We BBq'd smoked porkchops and potatoes for supper and sat under the awning while it was raining until about 8.00 pm,then inside to watch a movie.

Wed.July 1st
Canada Day
Strange weather today, Rain and sun off and on all day, about 70f (20c).
Morning coffee and a bit more waxing our coach. Then at 11.00am Bruce, Sally (their 3 dogs) and Karen's mother arrived for the day. At 11:30 we went to area 1 campground for Canada Day Celebrations. This is organized every year by Drago (Uncle Buck a proud Canadian) who camps here every year. He hangs up Canadian flags and passes them out to all the children and plays some Canadian music by Stompin Tom. We all sang Oh Canada and celebrated with a huge cake that was made and decorated by Patsy the Campground Warden along with fresh coffee. With most of the rain holding off for us.
Then about 4.00 pm Karen, her mother, Bruce, Sally and the dogs all came to our site with food to get out of the rain and we BBQ'd chicken with delicious salads and donuts for desert. Another couple Tom and Leanne with Cole and Gracie dropped by and we attempted to have a campfire between raindrops with damp wood. It finally started burning about 8.30 pm when the rain started again and all went home for the evening.

Wed.July 1st
Canada Day
Strange weather today, Rain and sun off and on all day, about 70f (20c).
Morning coffee and a bit more waxing our coach. Then at 11.00am Bruce, Sally (their 3 dogs) and Karen's mother arrived for the day. At 11:30 we went to area 1 campground for Canada Day Celebrations. Tues. June 30th
Cool and overcast this morning. After our coffees about 10:00am we took a drive to Whitney to check email and received a message from Kirsty that she and her daughter were coming for a drive from Washago to visit and arrive about 11:00 am. (they have camped here many years on this week in the past). So we returned to camp to find them just driving by. They visited with us and Karen who made lunch for us all, then we viewed their pictures of Australia from their 2 month trip there last winter ( awesome pictures) and chatted for a while, nice to see them again.
For supper we had chicken breasts with fried potatoes and veggies, then sat outside for a while after the rain and enjoyed a nice quiet campfire taking in the magnificent view.

Mon. June 29th
Nice sunny morning again about 68f (19c). Karen came by for morning coffee, we chatted for a while and puttered about. At 10:30 am we went to Whitney to check email, and some groceries. On the way back we stopped at Opeongo Outfitters store in town to browse and check out their new "Chip Stand" for lunch. The homemade 5 oz sausage pattie burger was very tasty as were the fresh cut fries.
Again back home we puttered around a bit and a bit more waxing of out coach, Then join some Karen for happy hour and snacks of crackers, cheese and kielbasa for a light supper. We sat on the beach in the sun for a bit with the neighbours until the heavy rain came. It was amazing we could see the dark skies and hear the rain coming threw the bush across the lake then watch it as it crossed the water towards us. So now we went in to watch a movie until bedtime.

Sun. June 28th
Today was cooler about 65f (17c) and sunny until about noon. Karen dropped by for a morning coffee and we all chatted for a while. I did some repairs on her trailer and fastened the shelves that I made to the back rests of our dinette. Then I called my mother to wish her happy birthday and chatted for a bit.
After lunch I did a bit more waxing on our coach until the rain showers started for a few hours, then we sat inside and read for a while. Supper tonight was shepherd's pie and sliced tomatoes. Then a movie inside on a cool damp evening.

Sat. June 27th
Sunny and warm all day 85f (29c). A pair of Loons just off the beach from our site was amazing!!. Then we went to Whitney for a few groceries and check email at the Mad Musher. We stopped at Opeongo Outfitters chip truck and and sampled their fresh cut fries (delicious!), then back to camp for lunch and enjoy the afternoon sun watching people play in the water at the beach beside us and canoeing I also washed one side of our coach that was in the shade. Our friend Karen (that we met many years ago here) arrived at 5.30pm she set up her trailer and joined us for BBQ'd garlic sausage, corn, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes and of course a little wine. Then a few butter tarts for dessert. We then sat by a campfire and enjoyed a very nice bug free warm evening by the campfire until about 10.30pm and an awesome starlit night.

Fri. June 26th
We left Galvin Bay Resort at 8.45 am and arrived at Rock Lake Camground at 11.45 am stopping at the Mad Musher Restaurant in Whitney to check our email. After filling our fresh water tank we checked to see if site 120 was available and it was so we set up on this large scenic site at the edge of the lake. Sun was shining and about 80f (25c) with a nice breeze to keep the bugs away. There was 3 baby raccoons and a hand full of ducks right next to us in the water, welcome back they said! I went for a shower and spotted a white tailed deer at the edge of the road another welcoming site.
A few people were in the water fishing and a storm brewing. About 4.00 pm fierce winds came in with a torrential rainfall that lasted about 20 minutes. Then the wind died down and sun came out again making a lovely evening. We BBQ'd pork chops, potatoes and broccolli with garlic bread and cheese for supper, then sat outside reading until dusk. Retiring inside to watch a movie before bedtime.

Thurs. June 25th
Bright and sunny again warm morning. At 8.00 am we got in the car to got to the Buckhorn library and the car won't start. I boosted and away we went. When we returned I dropped off Suzie and drove to Canadian Tire in Peterborough to purchase a new battery. When I removed to old battery It became evident that the hot weather had taken its toll on it, it was swelled at the sides and one terminal detached from the casing.
Back home we had lunch then did laundry. The temperature had climbed to 100f (38c) before noon. So we turned on the air conditioners to cool our coach and help keep the fridge cold enough. Puttering around a while in the shade and read for a while. Supper was BBQ'd chicken and potato salad, then sit outside again until dusk.

Wed. June 24th
Another great morning 70f (22c) by 7:00 am. I went to Buckhorn and checked email, posted blog and picked up a few groceries. Larry dropped by and showed us his handy work with a picture he had taken. Cute! We puttered around enjoying the great weather 95f (38c) and went for an afternoon swim in the pool, sure is refreshing. Then we BBQ'd a peameal back bacon roast for supper and salads, then sat outside reading enjoying yet another very warm evening.

Tues. June 23rd
Summer is really here!!!
Very warm sunny morning, 80f (25c) gotta love it. We took a drive into Peterborough to get some groceries at Farm Boy, real good prices. Stopped at few other stores then back home for lunch. We spent some time setting up our new wireless printer for both computers, then outside in the shade 92f (32) to read a few magazines, and BBQ hamburgers and fries for supper. Again we sat outside reading until about 9:00pm, when cooled down to a comfortable 68f (20C) overnight for sleeping.

Mon. June 22nd
Nice warm morning 70f (22c) by 7:00 am.
We sat outside and had coffee with my sister and brother in law and chatted for a while. We took a short drive to the Indian Reservation then into Buckhorn for a few groceries. Back Home we had lunch then they packed up the Roadtrek after their first camping experience in it with the 2 cats. The afternoon was really summer weather now 86f (30c) as we sat in the shade and did a bit of reading, then a BBQ'd steak, baked potato and broccoli for supper. With it still being warm we sat outside and read a bit more until about 9:00 pm. Just lovin the warm weather!!!

Sun. June 21st
A beautiful warm sunny morning, quite warm and humid by 8.00am.
We puttered around for while enjoying summer!!!!
I took a picture of Ron and Tammys rig which looks pretty impressive now they have the tractor painted to match their trailer.
Early afternoon my sister and brother in law arrived with there Roadtrek and 2 cats. Then at 3.00 pm we had a major downpour of rain for about 20 minutes, then the sun came back out and dried up again. BBQ'd chicken breasts and noodles for supper, and relaxed by the fire for a while chatting.

Sat. June 20th
Today cool and rainy, a good day to relax and get some more computing done.
In the afternoon we visited with neighbours Ron and Tammy for a while ( more computing), as they are leaving on sunday, then back home for supper BBQ'd Chicken and rice for dinner. An early night tonight after 2 late ones.

Fri. June 19th
A great sunny hot day finally 75f (24c). We had friends visit from Oshawa, Karen, Bruce and Sally that we had met in Algonquin a few years ago. They brought lunch, desert, beverages and chairs. It was a great afternoon visit and a tasty lunch.
Ron and Karen next door had invited us for supper also and we had a very tasty BBQ'd pork loin and rigatoni alfredo . This was followed by a nice campfire on a mild evening along with another couple Ron and Tammy, as we exchanged stories and had a few laughs.

Thurs. June 18th
We packed up in the rain and left Aurora at 10.00am heading to Galvin Bay Resort by Buckhorn Ontario. Arriving here at noon and set up. We chatted with 3 couples that we ran into in Quartzsite Arizona and got caught up on things. I made chicken wings and pizza for supper then our neighbour Ron showed up about 8.00pm, we have not seen him since last August. We went and enjoyed the hot tub for a while, then back home to catch up.

Wed. June 17th
Cool and rainy today , a good day to work in the house. Suzie and I got the family room in the basement ready and put a fresh coat of paint on it for Kim and Brian. A nice good days work, The when Kim got home she treated us to Swiss chalet dinner, one of our favourites!

Tues. June 16th
A nice warm sunny day I puttered around the house for Kim, moving some light fixtures and a bit of caulking. Then supper of hot pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, salad and a nice visit afterwards with her and the grandkids.

Mon. June 15th
We went to the Apple store at Fairview to exchange our printer and upgrade to a Macbook pro, real good deal. Then a nice BBQ's roast pork supper with relatives a and enjoyable evening.

Sun. June 14th
We packed up our coach and headed to Suzie's family reunion at the Tavistock Hall. This is a huge potluck lunch that happens the same weekend every year. A massie amount of food and deserts with about 180 relatives there. A good time was had by all.
At 4.00pm we left there and headed to my daughter's in Aurora and set up in here driveway by 7.00pm

Sat. June 13th
Was nice sunny in the morning but cooled down for a while. We drove to Drumbo to watch grandson's soccer tournament their team came in second place, and had lunch at Kobbler's Kitchen.
After lunch we returned to Chris and Bill's and celebrated her birthday with some friends and a BBQ, followed by a nice campfire.

Fri. June 12th

Sunny warm day today, about 80f (28c). We packed up at Rock Glen and headed out to Chris and Bill's near Norwich, arriving at noon. We sat by the pool and chatted with Chris for a while catching up. When Bill got home from work we had a great roast beef dinner, potatoes, veggies , gravy, and blueberry cheesecake for desert. And did some more chatting and checking out their renevations on their house.

Thurs. June 11th

Overcast a drizzly day today, but stayed nice long enough to pack up our mat while it was dry. We did laundry and some more research. Then get ready to hit the road tomorrow. Norwich, Drumbo, Tavistock and Aurora for the next 3 days. Supper tonight was pork schnitzel, fries and asparagus. Then a good night of darts at the clubhouse with Suzie and her team coming in 1st place.

Wed. June 10th

Nice sunny warm day today 70f (20c). Our neighbours Bill and Vivian were having their carpets steam cleaned this morning, so I asked the guy to give us a quote on our coach. His price was reasonable and he did it right away. We quickly removed stuff, and he did all the carpet, couch and dinette, wow amazing!!! Looks like a new coach. A much better job than I have been able to do with a rental machine for the last 3 years and not a lot more money.
After the carpets were done we drove to the London Passport office to renew our passports which are due to expire next December while we are away. From here we went to the Mandarin Chinese Buffet that we have heard so much about. This is a very impressive place to say the least. Four dinning rooms mostly full with a constant line of people coming and going, and a great selection of fresh hot food. Truly amazing to see so many people of all ages on a wednesday at 1:30pm indulging in this (recession?). The price was reasonable thou not cheap $11.99, but the food and service excellent with a very clean and modern restaurant.
Then we stopped at Walmart for a birthday gift and National Grocers for our coffee. Back home we sat outside in the shade reading and putting some items back in our coach as things dried. No supper tonight, the buffet took care of that. Then later we enjoyed a nice campfire hosted by Jack and Dede, who are selling their house and contents by auction and getting a new park model trailer this summer.

Tues. June 9th
Back to Forest today with Suzie to get our passport photos done and treat ourselves to KFC's twoonie Tuesday for lunch.( 2 pieces of chicken and fries for $2.79 each). Back home (80 f or 26c) I finished our shelves with a final coat of urethane, sat outside for a while to read and BBQ's pork chops, creamy noodles and a salad for supper. And Suzie continues the ongoing search for geneology information, while we have the internet (good thing she enjoys it!)

Mon. June 8th.
I went to Forest (15kms) to get putty for nail holes on new shelves and found a photographer that does passport photos, (soon time to renew ours.) The weather was cool and rainy for most of the day so got some more computing done, then sat outside in the sun about 4.00pm and BBQ'd chicken, with rice pilaf and asparagus for supper.

Sun. June 7th
About 65 f (17c) in the morning and overcast. We chatted with Frances and Ulysse from Elliot Lake after they packed up and were getting ready to leave. Then we headed out to the Flea Market in Grand Bend. Here Suzie exchanged 16 books for 8, we bought 2 nice mats for the coach, some fresh veggies then had a beverage and snack listening to the entertainment for a while. From here a tour into Grand Bend to check out the new beachfront. The work is still in progress but will be very nice with a splash pad and playground for the kids, snack bar,paved parking and nice landscaping. Back home we sat in the sun and read for a bit, chatted with neighbour Bill, then a nice supper of scallops, fetucinni alfredo, and fresh asparagus from the market.

Sat. June 6th
Cooler today 60f (15c), mostly sunny and a cool breeze. I went to Forest to pick up some quick drying urethane for the new shelves. Once they were fitted and sanded I was able to apply 2 coats. Then we sat in the sun (out of the wind) and read for a bit. For supper we finished the hamburg casserole with a fresh tossed salad. Followed by a nice campfire hosted by Phil and Judy. Chatting with old friends and a new couple from Elliot Lake Ontario, that joined our park this weekend.

Fri. June 5th
Great warm day today, sunny, light wind. I went to Rona Lumber yard in Forest and purchased some oak boards and trim. At the shop here in the resort Harry cut them to my specs for me. I sanded, nailed and glued together creating a shelf for the top of the backs on our dinette. Covering up the upholstery that was getting tired from many years of use. Tomorrow I hope to varnish them.
Early afternoon Bill & Carol pulled in with their new (to them) Titanium 5th wheel trailer, complete with screened in deck at the back (cool). We chatted with them, Harry and Irene for a while and caught up on news. Then went to the clubhouse to celebrate Shirley's birthday with Irene's awesome cake. Back home for supper (after desert) we had a BBQ'd steak baked potato and salad. Then our neighbours Bob & Lova had a great campfire with a nice gathering of friends on a nice warm evening (finally).

Thurs. June 4th.
Happy 4th anniversary to my brother Chris and Sheri. Four years ago today we were at their wedding ceremony on the beach in Nassau, awesome trip!
Today nicer weather about 70f (21c) sunny and only a light wind. Laundry today, a few groceries, read a bit in the sun then, a hamburg, macaroni, veggies & cheese casserole for supper, followed by a fun night at darts. 24 people for a good turn out but no winnings for Suzie or me.

Wed. June 3rd

Warm and sunny most of the day about 65f (17c) with a cool breeze, it doesn't really feel like summer time. I wonder what ever happened to global warming? I guess we are spoiled with our warm winters in the south. Not much happening today, we spent a while arranging to have some work done on our coach at Sicard's Rv , using up our $4,000.00 credit, then putter about a bit and BBQ'd some pork chops, with chinese noodles and veggies for supper.

Tues. June 2nd
Bright sunny and a bit warmer today, but only around 68f (20c). We putter around a bit and a walkabout. Chattewith neighbours Rob and Debbie for a while. Kind of a lazy day, with some more computer updates, then supper of wings, ribs, fries, veggies and dip.

Mon. June 1st
Cool and rainy overnight and most of the day today. I went to Forrest IGA to pick up a few groceries and back home to do some computing for most of the day, setting up my macbook and research on the hi speed wifi available here. Around 4.00pm Harry dropped by for happy hour and we caught up with news etc. Supper tonight was garlic sausage, sauerkraut, peas and potatoes. Then a tv show while it rained some more.

Mon. Aug.11^th

Next to visit my sister on Lake Scugog for a couple of days before heading back to Galvin Bay for 2 weeks to meet up with more campers from Oshawa, Hamilton and Lewiston New York.

Tues. August 5^th

Off we go to Earl Rowe Provincial Park to relax and explore this area outside of Alliston Ontario, before visiting my daughter Kim in Aurora for another Grandson’s 2^nd birthday.

Thurs. July 30^th

We travelled to Sauble Beach to enjoy the company and hospitality of Eric and Ellana at their waterfront cottage with some amazing weather.

Tues. July 15^th

We went back to the farm in New Hamburg until July 30^th. Here we visited with family and friends, and celebrated my youngest grandson’s 1^st birthday. Friends of our Steve and Barb also joined us at the farm with their coach for a week. My youngest daughter Jess came out and treated Suzie and I with a very relaxing reflexology treatment.

We stopped by my brother’s in Brocklin overnight for a delicious meal of BBQ’d spareribs, yummy.

My sister and brother-in law stopped by for lunch and we checked out the Indian reservation for crafts and stuff.

A few days at Galvin Bay near Buckhorn and relax. John and Barb (couple from Buckhorn that we met in Georgia) dropped by for a nice visit on Thursday evening tohelp us celebrate our 15^th wedding anniversary.

After 15 awesome days in Algonquin, we went back to Galvin Bay for a few days.

Tues. July 1^st.

Was a Canada Day celebration at Rock Lake Beach hosted by a proud New Canadian (Drago) with songs about Canada, Flags all over and singing “Oh Canada”. This was followed by a short speech about our great country.

Wed. June 25^th Moose experience

Alex and Debbie invited us over for a campfire on this lovely mild evening. After an enjoyable evening of conversation we left about 11:30pm to drive home. Algonquin is very dark at night with no light pollution just a star filled sky and very little moonlight. While coming in the gravel road at 40 kmh to Rock Lake at KM3 in our car we noticed a huge magnificent Moose nicely trotting down the road going in our direction. We slowed right down as we approached him and finally stopped about 30 feet behind and observed its monstrous size. Then the Moose stopped and looked right at us and started to come towards the front passenger side of our car. It then proceeded to charge us and body checked the side of our car rocking it violently, and carried on behind us, we carried on the opposite direction just in case he decided to charge again. We felt so small as its head was much taller than the car and he hit the right rear door and rear fender leaving smudge marks on the side widow and a few minor scratche marks in the paint, and broke the rear door handle. Luckily the side panels on our car are polymer and bounced right back to shape showing no major damage. We are fine and have a Moose memory of Algonquin that we will never forget. I am glad that Suzie was with me because at least I have a witness. She said that she would probably not have believed this true story.

Tues. June 24^th

We drove to Pog Lake campground about 11 kms away and looked up a couple ( Alex & Debbie) from Plattsville that we used to camp with many years ago and taught us how to canoe in Algonquin Park.

Mon. June 23^rd

About a 2 & ½ hour drive to Rock Lake Campground in Algonquin Park where we were lucky to get a beautiful site right on the water and stayed for 2 weeks. Here we met up with many friends that we had met over the years here. Here we enjoyed many campfires and social times.

Thurs. June 19^th

We arrived at Galvin Bay resort near Lakefield and relaxed here for a few days. While here we talked with fellow campers we met over the years and shared travel stories. Then on Saturday we visited John & Barb about 10 minutes away, a couple that we met at the RV Rally in Perry Georgia, small world.

Tue. June 17th

We are at my sister's place in Little Britain right on Lake Scugog to catch up ,with our lives. She retired a year ago and purchased this beautiful waterfront property. We will stay for a few days then carry on to Galvin Bay, and then Algonquin park for a couple
weeks.

Mon. June 16th

I received my new hearing aids today and cannot believe how well they work! I can actually hear things ( like Suzie talking to me in the RV) and even listen to music. Wow today's technology.

Fri. June. 13th

Visit my Daughter and her family in Aurora for a few days, really nice to see our grandsons and have them visit us in our "RV Truck" parked in their driveway.

Sun. June 8th

We left Lazy lakes and I stopped at 50 Point Campground for the night,to have new shocks installed on our coach Monday morning. Suzie carried on to New Hamburg for a family reunion. I caught up with her monday afternoon at the farm where we stayed until friday morning.

Fri. June 6^th

Thursday was a beautiful partly sunny day about 90 f (32c) and about 72f (22c) overnight. The campground is surrounded by Cottonwood trees and the hot weather makes them go to seed with huge white fluffies everywhere, it looks like a snow storm at times, in the air and on the ground too. Today is about the same only hotter more humidity humidex about 104f (40c). Run air conditioner today and quite comfortable. We have been waiting for this weather a long time.

Tues. June 3^rd

Have been at Lazy Lakes Resort (Lewiston NY) now for about a week, and are enjoying meeting up with old friends. Steve and Barb came in last friday morning, we have not seen since Picacho Peak Arizona in February. Friday afternoon Bill & Barb arrived whom we have not seen since last fall. I cooked up a peameal bacon roast on the BBQ and Barb made a batch of her awesome home made Perogies and the six of us sat down to a great feast, followed by a nice roaring campfire. Saturday a bit rainy but cleared up for another campfire with real wood again. We usually just use our propane fire pit, its less expensive than buying wood. But if someone else has free firewood, away we go. The weather has been fairly warm with a few rain showers here and there, even a bit of hail on Saturday with some really huge hail stones bouncing off the ground.

Yesterday was hot and sunny all day 80f (28c) had a BBQ wings for supper and another campfire on a very mild evening, until the mosquitoes came out around 9.00pm.

Now today is mostly overcast with occasional rain and some sunny periods. I helped Steve a bit with his computer and they are cooking a nice supper of curried chicken and potatoes.

We do enjoy this area close to Ontario but still get the benefit of cheap beverages, food and gasoline, We saved $40.00 on a fill up in our coach and about $10.00 for the car. Free camping in our membership park and even free wifi.
