Another flea market, good deals, warm weather, just another great day.

Where are we today ?
Hey its Sunday morning  and loving this real mild weather 62f at 5:30 am, amazing!  Windows open, fantastic fan open, yep life is good. Gonna cool down for a bit but we will take this weather as it comes.
This morning our plan is another flea market only about 1/2 hour away on the back roads.
First stop down the road at Love's fuel the car, cheapest gas we have seen so far this year. Works out to .72 cents a litre at 15 % exchange , what a deal!
gas price today at loves down the road
Took off shortly after 9 am to this Olde Security Flea market. Not fancy but is a flea market, lotsa good deals, used stuff, new stuff and very reasonable prices, compared to yesterday in Houston.
They have produce, and just about anything that you may or may not need or  want.
need a saddle for your horse?
Christmas decorations?
Boots, Cowboy boots?
guitars ?
appliances?
They have it all here, and very good prices as well. I found this short handle flexible ratchet I have been looking for only $5.00 compared to over $20.00 other places.
awesome deals here
Then we wandered inside and Suzie found a no glare screen protector for her I-pad mini only $12.00 another good deal.
This is a great market not fancy but again more fun,
 that we enjoy.
I forgot to mention that yesterday I found a deal 5 t-shirts for $10.00 (tax included) plain and colors too, or with Texas logos. So I picked up some souvenirs and new t shirts as well. 5 in 5 out, thats the deal in our house. Also found myself a pair of denim shorts here today only $1.00. and they fit perfect, all my other ones are falling off me, feels good to have some t-shirts and a pair of shorts that actually fit.
That was a fun morning for us and back home for lunch after a quick stop at Krogers in Willis for a few food stuffs and a fresh chicken for supper. Love the chicken prices here. 6 lb fresh chicken $6.70 . Too big for us and not frozen so I cut it up and froze 1/2 , the other half on our grill for supper. We will have leftovers too.
Putter around for a while, chat with our neighbors and enjoyed our e-readers outside, yep we love this weather.
Then to fire up our Weber Q 100  to grill this 1/2 chicken I quartered grilled yellow pepper, a fresh salad, a few fresh raspberries on the side.
Just another fun day here, doing what we enjoy in Texas.
Glad you stopped by again and hope your day was wonderful too.

Houston Flea market on a nice sunny warm day.

Where are we today ?
It was very mild last night, just gonna be another wonderful day again. So the plan is to check out a couple fleamarkets. Suzie had picked Houston today unknown to me so that was the final plan. Only about an hour away from here travelling into and around Houston. Its a big city but I know we can do it in the car.
We were here a couple years ago and enjoyed the outing so not  a problem. This be the place Traders Village in Houston Texas. It is huge and a very busy place lots to see and do.
Left Willis about 9:30 am  and arrived shortly after 10:30.
this be the place
this be the place
they even have an Rv campground here too if you wish
10:30 is early and the crowds not here yet,
thats what we like

This place is huge and your can wander for a long time enjoying he atmosphere. Thats exactly what we did.
Took lots pics if you care to check them out.
Food vendors every where if you choose to give them your money.
fresh fruit and veggies,
but kind of expensive
lots of food vendors
In the middle even have a fairground with lots of rides for the kiddies. Pretty reasonable compared to  other places we have seen. So many fun things for the kids to do as well.
they even have a few bars here too

Now this cart below is driving around just like on a golf course. Cold beer on tap, now is that too cool or what?
need a beer or pop? right here
saw couple neat BBQ's too, not a Weber
but still cool
Outta here after a couple hours and made it to the car. Parking lot is getting very full and the crowds rolling in. We had packed a couple sandwiches for lunch so sat in the car and discused our next plan of  attack.
Now seeing as we are already in Houston why not just jump right into the mess of roads and traffic? Suzie would like to stop into IKEA and we have the time. Its been while since we have been to one of these stores and are looking for 2 new large throw cushions. Our old ones are over 15 years old so time to replace them.
Ikea only 20 minute away right on the heart of Houston, but we are brave, lets go for it!
bridges and roads everywhere here
this be the place we looking for
It's been a long time since we have been to one of these places, but looking and searching we found what we were looking for. Two large cushions with removable covers that we can wash or replace = perfect!
Also on the way pout we had to stop and grab a couple frozen yogurt cones (fat Free) and only one dollar each, a nice treat after our busy day. We still have over and hours drive back home so needed some fortification.
two wonderful cushion we picked up
Finally home about 4 o'clock, chairs outside and we can relax and read for a while. Before I get it the mood to whip up supper.
Noticed this guy pull in to deliver a pizza, in his convertible, thing maybe the pizza be cold? Maybe.
No problem a I get to cook supper again, my favorite time of day, (Suzie's too). Tonight a tasty catfish fillet, grilled orange pepper, bean salad and a lettuce salad sure did the trick.
That was our fun day enjoying this wonderful warm Texas weather doing what we really like to do.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit. Sure hope you had a great day too.

Shower faucet replacement and a big pot of turkey soup

Where are we today ?
Today is Black Friday and almost everyone goes shopping for great deals. Not us, nothing we need and nothing we want to buy so really no need for us to venture out to the mad house out there.
I do have project I would like to tackle today though. Replace the taps in our shower. Leaking into the shower a bit and needs to be done. Mind you it is 15 years old and these things need to be done either in our Rv or in a house.
Picked up new taps the other day only $15.00 and thought it could be a lengthy fix. So I set aside the whole day today for this project. Few years ago I worked in the same area replacing our water and sewer lines for the kitchen and had to remove our pantry. Now that was a big job. Had to remove our stove and oven as well to get at everything.
this be the old shower tap,
leaking where the hose hooks up
our pantry
first off need to empty the pantry
Empty the pantry, remove the shelves and panels behind about 40 minutes. Now without removing the pantry I can see the rear of the shower taps.
this panel removed I can access the rear of the shower taps
Now it was easy/peasy about 15 minutes had the new taps installed
New taps, look and work
much nicer and, no leaks
all hooked up here no leaks,
 love it ! Done deal.
Much quicker fix than we anticipated, so went back to finishing up the turkey soup. Remove from the fridge, skimmed the fat, added some veggies and let it simmer for a while.
So a few more walkabouts the park,  read for a bit enjoying this 70 degree plus weather sure do love it.
cool in the shade but still wonderful
No Weber tonight cause this soup is smelling too good to pass up, so thats tonight's supper.
Even enjoy a late afternoon sunset just before supper, really can't complain.
that's supper, wonderful Turkey noodle soup
and a fresh bun from the bakery
That was another wonderful and productive day we had, sure do enjoy the hearty homemade soups too, almost need a fork to eat them.
Just moving along "one day at a time" living a wonderful lifestyle here trying to follow the sun. Not sure yet where we are going or what we are doing, but.... we will see.
Thanks agains for stopping for a peak, come by anytime.
