Where are we today ?
Well here it is again a wonderful sunny pretty warm day up to 55 f. Was 20 f overnight but not windy, good for sleeping. After morning coffees and computing the sun rose to a clear blue sky and things warmed up real quick.
My first morning walkabout by the river enjoyed the shadows and the birds in the trees.
But then I followed my nose over to this wonderful aroma of a turkey being smoked by one of the cabins. Awe, there it is, the smoker fired up and the cook Kyle camped out for the night (in a cabin) with his family tending to this wonderful smoked bird.

smells so good and almost done |
Then a bit later a walkabout down along the river trail, so peaceful and quite. Even spotted a couple deer running along the ridge on the other side of the river.

Today here in the resort is our Thanksgiving get together (a day early) from noon until 3 pm. The resort here supplied the smoked turkey, two deep fried turkeys, a huge ham, gravies, coffee, tea, plates and utensils. The rest of us brought pot luck dishes. From salads, potatoes, vegetables, cornbread stuffing, baked beans, and casseroles etc..., not to mention all of the tasty deserts. Our contribution was 4 dozen
"King's Hawaiian Sweet rolls" they are oh so good.
We had two Canadian Thanksgiving get togethers with family back in October. And then we can do it once again while we tour the Southern states in the winter, aren't we lucky!

lots of great food |

I had a few samples it was awesome and I did not have to cook. |
Now I am not a desert eater, but this homemade one looked quite interesting so had to give it a little try (as if I needed more food). Not sure what it was but very light and had mainly blueberries and pineapple with a light topping, no crust, a very interesting taste combination.

a pretty good turnout today |
We sat at the end, met a few other couples and chatted getting acquainted sharing rv stories for a couple of hours while enjoying this great Thanksgiving meal. There was more than enough food and over 60 people there to enjoy it too. Most of the people here in the campground, pretty good turn out for off season camping.

Glad we walked to and from the hall a good 5 minutes each way, needed to walk off a bit of lunch on the way home. Then a few other walkabouts this afternoon too, between chapters of our books.
We got back home shortly after 2 pm and were able to spend a couple of hours enjoying our books outside on a beautiful warm sunny afternoon with no wind. Chatted with a few people as they strolled by and watched the wagon ride pass us by a few times, taking people around the resort.

Now as the sun begins to set the air cools down so time to migrate inside. Read and compute a bit more (no supper tonight again). The awesome Thanksgiving lunch was more than enough for today.
Thanks for stopping on by today and we would like to wish all of our American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.
