Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Sunday morning and a bright sunny day again. Coffee and walkabout on such a beautiful day ,we had planned on going to Darryl Starbird's National Rod and Custom Car Hall of Fame Museum  to check out the amazing custom cars that are there, but a quick phone call to check their hours told us they were closed until Nov. 5th so looks like we will miss them this year. But you can look at the pictures we took the last time we were there, March 2009.

With that tour not possible today I switched to plan "B". Seeing it was a nice warm sunny day, I decided it would be a good time to take down our roof vent covers and clean them up. Its really amazing how dirty they can get in one year.
Well I started just after 10:00am and took them off the roof, then cleaned under the covers before coming off the roof. Once on the ground a simple matter of washing them off and put back up in place, right? Well one neighbour beside us from Kentucky came over to chat, after that another neighbour from Missouri, then a neighbour from Michigan. Before we knew it was 12:30 and time for lunch. So a quick bite to eat and back outside to finish washing these covers, well another neighbour from Oklahoma stopped by to chat for a bit. THEN... I put the vent covers back on the roof, wrapping it up at 2:30pm. Thats how a 45 minute job can take 4 and one half hours when you are retired and rving.

With this work done for the day, we opened our awning to shade us from the hot blaring sun, relax, cool down and read for a while. It was again about 34c (90f), not that we are complaining.
Suzie felt bad saying the sun was to hot to sit outside, so we made some shade

With all this hard work and talking we worked up an appetite for a tasty supper. I got the BBQ out to grill a prime rib steak to perfection, with a couple of coconut shrimp, baked potato, cauliflower w/cheese sauce, a lettuce salad, and a little red wine to round it all out.
Of course some more chit chat, read a bit then, The Battle of the Blades on TV. An interesting competition of hockey players pairing up with professional figure skaters all in the name of raising money for their favourite charities.
