Amazing service at Apex Collision in Clovis and we back on the road in no time!

Where are we today ?

Well this morning at 7:20 am we went next door to  Apex Collision Centre to get our windshield taken care of. If you read yesterday's posting we had pulled into a Walmart in Clovis New Mexico. Just for an overnight stop. And while checking our coach noticed our windshield was about to remove itself from our coach. After a few quick phone calls and a referral the Manager at Apex Collision was nice enough to drop by and check it out for us. They open at 7:30 am and we said we could be there.
I carefully drove the coach there, about a 4 minute drive. And they were all there, emptied out a bay to pull our coach inside , on a chilly windy day.
this the place
Once in there JJ , the manager took a much closer look and said that they may have to remove the windshield to do the repair but could possibly break the glass. No problem I said, we can't drive the coach like this. He did some checking for a new windshield. And because Clovis is in the middle of nowhere, it would take 4-5 days to get the glass. Suzie called our insurance company and they will cover it and our accommodation if need be.
JJ checking things out
They do have a guy (Gerry  I think?) here that specializes in windshields and he brought his van in and began checking things out. He shoved, fitted and had the coach rocking to reseal the windshield.
he has everything he needs right here
they working on it and we crossing our fingers
that the glass does not break
The windshield is back in place, they did not have to remove the glass and it did not break. They are happy with it, ( and we are happy with it) they did their best that they could do for now and we should be good to go.
he did an amazing job, for about 2 hours with some help
from JJ and a couple of others
While they worked on it we spent some time in their comfortable waiting room, tv and we had free wifi as well, and of course they had fresh coffee for us too. Debbie took care of us here.
very nice waiting room
this is what we saw yesterday
not good !
all back together and sealed
These people here are among some of the best for customer service, smiling, friendly and caring people. And took very good care of us in no time flat. And got us back on the road.
As we were leaving a couple of others came out to check out the work and they liked it too, it was like one big happy caring family here. They wished us safe travels and we were back on the road by 10:30 this morning!
On the left Debbie, an amazing secretary,
and JJ one awesome manager
Now talk about good customer service and caring people. We went to settle the bill and JJ, said, no charge it is on us! We could not believe it, they used their experience and a couple of hours of their time , fixed our windshield and no charge! These guys are amazing.
Needless to say I would recommend them at any time and if you are coming through the area and need their services be sure to check them out or stop and say HI, from us here George and Suzie at our awesome travels.
this mornings sunrise at the Walmart
From here we hopped on 70 and headed to Roswell New Mexico just a couple of hours down the road and checked into Bottomless lakes State park.
100 miles of quiet roads,
not as much wind as yesterday
through Roswell and into the state park
We love the New Mexico state parks, so beautiful large sites electric and water, free wifi  and only $14:00 a night we will enjoy our time here. and maybe even checkout Roswell while we are here.
Beautiful large serviced sites
you know it is nice when Suzie is in shorts in the shade
83 f this afternoon
Once set up and our 5 lb chicken on the Weber Q I settled into a new book by Elizabeth Lowell for a while.
But kept getting interrupted by this roadrunner  that kept coming around, our first roadrunner sitting this year, love watching these guys.
Then the scenery is wonderful as well
I whipped up a fresh salad to go with our chicken for supper and was ready just about time for the sunset.
yes we do enjoy our chicken, leftovers and
a pot of soup very soon
tasty? yup
and a nice sunset to end our day
That was a great day we had, wonderful service, a nice short travel day, awesome weather, and a very tasty supper. Now tell me how can it get much better than that?
Thanks for dropping in and hope your day was a great one too!

Where have we been this winter ?

Enjoying this weather, windshield repaired, laundry done, ready to move on out in the morning.

Where are we today ?

Just more wonderful weather again, nothing too exciting going on here today. Just doing what we do.
The usual walkabouts early morning stuff , then a quick trip to Forest for a few fresh veggies. We have decided on a new flooring for our coach a light grey solid vinyl  get rid of all of our carpet .We sampled a lot of nice wood types but this is what we want, easy to clean, will not show the dirt and make our small space look much brighter and match our walls and upholstery.
Then a couple of loads of laundry done before noon and a nice light tasty lunch as the temperature rose. Did get to 95 F  (35C) today but not too bad outside in the shade with a very light breeze.
this is the life we enjoy
After a few more walkabouts, check tire pressures and the oil in our coach before we leave in the morning. Then a nice relaxing time to enjoy our e-readers. Kevin dropped in from Colorcarft Auto Glass in town for fix a stone ship on the windshield of our coach ( covered by insurance). Only a few minutes here and should help to save our windshield. It has been replaced twice already !
this small chip was taken  care of
pork loin and  asparagus on the grill, with our salad
sure did the trick
Just after Kevin left I fired up our Weber Q to preheat the grill and a nice lean pork loin roast. Tried it with just a bit on salt, pepper, and garlic powder. None of our usual spices or rubs that do contain sugar that does cause the food to glaze but also glazes the grill. Turned out wonderful, very tasty and the grill  still good.
pork roast was so tender with applesauce
 asparagus and salad  was excellent
 more leftovers
That was our perfect day just enjoying the good life. Time to leave here once again in the morning , new places and new face the way we like it. Been here long enough but will be back soon, new flooring is on the agenda then. This is what we love about this lifestyle.
Thanks once again for taking the time to stop on by.

Where have we been this summer ?
