Relocating to Plattsville for a few days

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
After a wonderful good nights sleep got a few short walkabouts this morning, after the coffee etc... Then began slowly securing things for todays' short travel.
As we were packing up our good friends Randy, Gail and Haillie stopped by and Rob and Pat to see us off and wish us safe travels. I am sure we will see them again this summer at some point.
Gerry and Tucker stopped by to say see ya later last night
just before we headed in
All secured and no rush we pulled out at 9:30 am only, 120 KMS (75 miles) to go an easy back country drive. We did make a stop to fuel up our coach and top up our propane (62 cents a litre) for a good price right on our way. As good a price as we can do though gas is not cheap anymore. (Ok we know where we can get much cheaper gas but is 50 miles out of our way so no real savings). Glad we don't do a lot of travelling in Canada with these fuel prices, $1:29 a litre ($4:87 for a US Gallon) and that was much less than other places boy $1.40 a litre ! $211.00 for  a 1/2 tank of gas minus $15.00 for propane.
Love these quiet back roads
We arrived in Plattsville at Camp Awesome shortly after 11:30 am , Now it is hot when we have to do setting up and stuff. But we made a light tasty lunch and a very refreshing dip in the pool here.
humidex only 106 F today
better than 115F , 2 days ago
We pulled in here and noticed the huge willow tree has come down. Now we don't have to worry about all the crap from it on our coach, but will miss the afternoon shade it gave us.
that huge willow finally bit the dust
here we are all set up
Now to cool down in the pool here, a bonus we enjoy while here. The water was 84F very comfortable and refreshing.
this is nice
All cooled down then to relax in the shade enjoying our e-readers looking at this wonderful view. So peaceful and quiet here is amazing!
About 4 pm we disconnected from electricity and fired up our generator, Not enough power here to run our AC, but with the genny running we have a 50 amp service and can run both air conditioners so in no time our coach was cooled down very nicely inside.
Eventually I preheated our Weber q, whipped up a salad and grilled a couple in tasty bone in pork chops for supper.
not long to grill these , low and slow
tasty , filling and leftovers for lunch
After supper dishes done much cooler outside now, To finish this posting and right back into our page turners for a while until time to head on inside, Probably around 9 pm.
Glad that y'all dropped on by today and hope you had a wonderful one as well.
75 miles today

Today was our last morning here in Plattsville for a bit. No rush to get going only a couple hours down the road to Rock Glen resort, here we get full hookups and no overnight fees with our membership . What's not to love about that?
Headed out about 10 am , like I said no rush, Stopped a the Canadian Tire Gas bar in Stratford to fill our coach,(its been a while) Gas Buddy said it was a good price. .98.9 cents a litre compared to $1.08 most other places. Put in 190 litres so was a good savings ($19.00) and also got $11.00 in Canadian Tire money as well. Works for us!
Then down the road to the Go Co to top up our propane only .62.9 cents a litre here another good deal. We do our research and pays off for us.
Pulled into  Rock Glen resort just after noon, checked in, got set up on our site, had a quick light lunch,  All settled in for a week or so, 11 days I think.
nice and cozy here
While I was doing this noticed a seasonal neighbour here had brought his cruising car that he had told me about. Gotta go check it out for sure !
1951 Chevy, in wonderful condition
he did a very good restoration, did not want a show car
just an old car he could cruise around with
Now for anyone interested the mechanical stuff he rebuilt the 6 cylinder engine, added a 4 Barrel carbonator, headers, dual exhaust and a 5 speed transmission. This car really moves and is an great street cruiser.  John  has done an amazing job.
what a great job looks good
Now to hang out and enjoy this wonderful summer weather, , NO BUGS HERE !
Just after 3 pm Tucker dropped by dragging Gerry along. Time for Happy hour yup we ready.
doggie fix for Suzie
see Tucker brought Gerry along
Walt our friend and handy man stopped by for a cold beverage  (he did the flooring in our coach) Nice to see him again and always enjoy his company.
Walt looking at Ron giving him a hard time as usual
Always nice to see Ron's smiling face here
Walt brought Miya by and Suzie got another doggie fix
Then again time for supper, Whipped up our salad and grilled some chicken drumsticks on our grill mat, added some BBQ sauce, just because I could for a change. Does not make a mess of the grill with the grill mat that cleans so easily.
yes a wonderful day here
drumsticks pretty tasty
salad , chicken, fresh strawberries was wonderful
Now supper done, dishes done and we can enjoy another great evening outside, just enjoying more of this great weather. Here it is almost 8:30 and still in shorts, sandals . but I did put on a sweater just because I could. Blog is posted and can enjoy more  reading outside, Love this weather!
Thanks for stopping by again and really hope you had a great day as well.

Went to new Hamburg for an early eye appointment and back home to grab Suzie .
Then we picked up Suzi'es Dad and took him to Anna Mae's Restaurant in Millbank Ontario for the link click HERE an Amish/Mennonite Bakery and restaurant for their famous Broasted Chicken. For a late father's day lunch with him. Mind you they have lots of other home made meals and baked goods. They have seating for 178 people and most lunch hours there is a long lineup waiting for tables. We like to get there before 11:30 am to beat the rush. We had a wonderful lunch all with the broasted chicken they had desert (not me) Raisin pie for her Dad, cherry cheesecake for Suzie. Needless to ays we had our fill and satisfied our craving for their amazing chicken.

Then on the way out pass by all the fresh baked goodies that we were tempted to but but did not.

donuts
breads and pastries
more pies

of course always see a few buggies around
Took her Dad back home and Suzie visited there for bit while I picked up a few things in town, then back to Plattsville by 2 pm. Here the rain had stopped and sun came out we secured our coach, read outside for a bit waiting until 5 pm to leave. Head down to our daughters to pick up some items we had there in storage to take down to store now at good friends Christine and Bill's Place  further south near Delh/Simcoe Ontario. We will visit there for a couple of days, its been a while.
Everything loaded in Drumbo with the help of Rob and grandson Noah, then head on down the road. Suzie driving the car behind. ( my navigator) so I made a few wrong turns but finally got there just after 7 pm. The scenic route !
wonderful country roads for the drive
Ginsing farms her everywhere, used to be tobacco country
We got here and looks like gonna rain so with their help we quickly unloaded everything from the motorhome into their garage , then again moved it down stairs to their massive basement, for our small corner that they have volunteered to store our few treasures that we have been hanging onto for over 11 years now.
Got our coach parked and set up and joined them on the patio for a bit just enjoying some catching up. Bill showed us the baby bird that had survived a fall from the large maple tree, Can't fly yet and mom and dad are taking care of him.
nicely set up here for a couple of days
Then relax on their patio for a while, so nice to see them again, and will catch up in the next couple of days.
they have a beautiful place here
Eventually  the skeeters came out so time for us to head on home and call it a night. Has been a busy day so nice just to kick back and relax again.
Suzie heading hime in the dark
That was our fun day, getting things done and a few things moved, visiting with good friends and enjoying some not too bad weather.
Thanks for stopping by. Gonna call it a night very soon. night night.
