      Today is gonna be bright, sunny much warmer. So got some walkabouts done around the park enjoyed the sunshine and temps got up to 50f, it is so wonderful in the sun.

         Today was a relaxing day just wrap up a few things before we leave in the morning. Put water and sewer hoses away (will be too cold in the morning) Checked tire pressures and stuff (as usual) and while doing this Suzie cleaned our house, looks spotless again!
        In the meantime our Verizon internet was still not working so a few trips down by the clubhouse used their free wifi.
        Then enjoyed a couple hours outside reading in the afternoon sun, gotta love it.

          An early supper tonight, before it gets dark (we still adjusting) besides Suzie wants to watch the one show she loves Madame Secretary at 6 pm.
          And while I was getting it ready checked out our Verizon. It is now working! Just like the lady yesterday said "should be working in 24 hours" and she was almost right on the money.
          Tonight grilled a couple of a Turkey burgers with Onion and Parsley on our Weber Q, the last of our winter stash, just added our usual salad and we good to go.

         Put the Weber Q away and our lawn chairs, Suzie got to see her show and I get this blog posted. What a nice relaxing day we had.
         Looking forward to getting on the road again, lower elevations, further south, warmer temps and new places to explore.

       Up early again and very cold outside 19f glad we disconnected our water hose. When I went to go on our Verizon internet MIFI I found it was not working! So waited for Suzie to get up  and she called Verizon. Apparently they have made some changes so we will be down for a day or so. Not a big problem, just an inconvenience, we have free wifi here in the park but just cannot get it from our coach anymore there is a few more rv's between us and the clubhouse. So down there I went check out a few things and back home.
          About 8 am made a quick trip to Walmart in Edgewood to pic up a few things and spotted these very interesting Rv's in the parking lot Wood carvers on the move, looks like they spent the night here.

       Shortly after 10am we getting ready to head into the Southwest Bacon Fest but had a knock on our door. How about that, a fulltime rv friend of ours from Ontario passing through the area had stopped here for a couple nights Larry and his wife Shirley. So we invited him in and we got caught up on each others travels. What a nice surprise.

        We eventually left for the Bacon fest at 11:30 to the Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque. We left here the temperature was 34f and at the Balloon Fiesta park (much lower elevation) only 20 minutes away sun shining, much less wind and about 54f wow! Perfect weather for this event.

         This Bacon Fest is all about Bacon, Beer and Blues. With over 100 bacon dishes 15 Craft Breweries and 4 bands. Only goes from 10 am till 5 pm  today only and we were here in the area and just had to go. Just to name a few bacon dishes Bacon Fudge, Bacon Toffee, Bacon Bloody Mary, Beer battered bacon, bacon flavored shaved ice, bacon flavored donuts, chocolate dipped marshmallow wrapped in bacon, bacon cheese curds, bacon chocolate chip cookies and muffins, and the list goes on and on. The entrance pass is  $7.00 per person but while standing in line for tickets a guy sold us one pass for $2.00 now thats a good deal.
          Most of the smaller food portions we sampled were about $3.00 so we shared a few and a 12 oz beer from any of the 15 craft breweries was $5.00  so we sampled s few things filled our tummies and enjoyed the fresh air sunshine and excellent live music. Surprisingly with all the people there it was not crowded lots of tables to sit at, interesting people to chat with and relatively quick service from all the vendors.

         Now back home from the warm Festival grounds about 2:30 was only 35f here, and no sunshine. Hmm,,,  at least we got out and enjoyed a new fun experience sunshine, tasty food. and some exercise. Tomorrow supposed to be sunny and warmer here then Monday a bit further south to Truth or Consequences for a couple days. Alway wanted to stop there for years but never worked out that way. Lower elevation so will be warmer there.

         Got a bit of reading and blogging done for the rest of the afternoon then a couple Tilapia fillets in the oven, with our new Tuscan Olive Oil. Not very nice out there to be standing by our Weber Q. Added that to a salad as well as dipped a bit of fresh bun in the Tuscan Olive oil, we enjoyed another fun day and tasty supper.

         Before we know it time to settle down for a but, watch a movie and call it a night.

Where are we today ?

       Today a nice tour to Old town Albuquerque.

         Pretty cold last night, the forecast said going down to 28f but when I got up at 5 am the water hose was frozen and was 18f. hmm, no problem we had some water in our tank as always. Just never know when things like this will happen or the water in a park is shut down. I disconnected the water hose and set in the sun an hour or so later all thawed out. The water taps are heated so that was no problem.  And when I opened our front window curtains noticed this guy across from camping in a tent! And he was not a young fellow either! Hmm, not for us thats for sure, mind you there was a time when I did that kinda stuff, long time ago.

         Suzie got her shower and we headed into Historic Old Town Albuquerque.   About 20 minutes west of here arriving about 10:30 am. Sun shining blue cloudless skies and a light breeze. Perfect weather for this excursion. We were here 7-8 years ago but wanted to check it out again, just cause we can. 
         The buildings and area is nice and a wonderful day for fresh air and walkabouts. Mostly a tourist trap with stores selling overpriced souvenirs, jewelry and art galleries. Lots and restaurants too. We check out a few shops but nothing much we needed or wanted. 
          Was a fun walkabout, memories of Mexico, kinda.. Not the prices thou.

          At the Candy Lady we sampled a few things and bought 2 Tiny Grand Mariner truffles. 

        Then we walked around the Albuquerque museum some nice sculptures near the entrance, but we had no desire to pay the $4.00 to tour though it, looked to fancy for our liking.

         The other shop that interested was Old Town Olive. Now that was fun. We sampled many different Olive oils and final broke down and purchased one that we both loved, Tuscan Infused Olive oil (A delicious blend of herbs, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic infused olive oil. Ise it on everything from salad dressings to marinades. Sprinkle with grated Parmogiano Reggiano cheese and a few twists of freshly ground pepper for an irresistible bread dipper). It was a bit pricey but we had packed a lunch today so that we could splurge a bit on this very tasty-healthy treat.

          Eventually we headed back east up the mountain to our campground. Glad we were here early was getting crowded by the time we left.

           Back home by about 1:30 this afternoon, it was still a wonderful sunny day and allowed us to enjoy our e-readers in the warm afternoon sun for a while and a walkabout as well.

          Then before we know it time to whip up supper. Fired up our Weber Q to preheat and made another tasty salad, tonight for a change that wonderful Tuscan infused Olive oil for a dressing, Wow what a very nice treat. Grilled a couple Turkey Garlic sausage and what a tasty meal we had.

        Then disconnect our water line tonight, just in case and a nice sunset we missed over the peak behind us.

         What a fun day we had, fresh air, new scenery and sunshine, does not get much better, well warmer would be nice but that will come with time.
