Saw our first Roadrunner this year today!

Where are we today ?

Well what an awesome night we had. Great sleep, windows open no heat on. No humidity, no wind, no comforter does not get much better.
This morning up at the usual time (early like 5 am). but well rested. Got the computing and coffees done and when the sun comes up ready to get the walkabouts into place.
nice moon setting
Ran a few errands and enjoyed this amazing weather we are having here. Light lunch and get to enjoy our beautiful campsite, the desert view and afternoon sun is perfect. It is so different here 80f and not too hot, no humidity, withe dry weather don't really feel the heat, so much.
Now while enjoying our e-readers had a Roadrunner, run around our site. First one we have seen this year. Amazing birds they are just like the cartoon characters we saw many years ago. Stand up straight and when they run they are on the move. Head down and tail out really too cool.
Now this is our  place for the day. Wonderful patio, nice view and perfect weather. No need to run around quite yet, this is way to nice here. Been here quite a few times and seen most of the touristy things.
this be the place
Later on gonna fire up our Weber Q and grill a nice lean pork loin (not a tenderloin), sweet potato slices and a cored  apple, with some cinnamon sprinkled inside. The roast about 45 minutes (internal temp 145f) Apple and sweet potatoes about 20 minutes or so turning halfway though. As usual preheat the Weber Q on high, turn to low and then begin cooking low and slow, works perfect!
turn the roast after 30 minutes to brown
the top about 5 minutes, then back over
While cooking super we can enjoy a nice sunset right from our patio chairs= perfect!
Just added a small salad tonight anbd we good to go. Lots leftovers, lunches for a few days.
The day was wonderful and we have a few things planned for the next week or so other than hanging out here. No matter we just love it here.
Thanks again for your visit hope you had a wonderful day too.

  2. It certainly is a nice place for good weather....but, if the weather girl is to be believed, the temperatures are slated to drop down in the days ahead. No matter what, it is still a nice place to be.

  4. There is definitely a comfort level going back to places we've been. Like you said there is no need to run around and do the tourist places as we've already been there done that.

    1. We can just take it easy and take in some local things, or return to some places we enjoy.

  5. I love seeing roadrunners but seldom get a photo of one. One hangs out just down the road and I see it a few times a week... but... no pictures yet. Your meals make me hungry, even though I've just had breakfast ;-)

  7. What a great way to spend the day after your long drive. Enjoyed seeing your local Road Runner and your sunset picture was beautiful. Pork Roast looked delicious saw our local Stater Brothers has them on the add for $2.99 lb. think that I will give it a try on the Q tonight, so after browning the top does it go back on the other side for 30 minutes? Looks like we have a bit of rain arriving here late tonight. Have a great Thursday and enjoy that sun.

    1. Thanks love the Pork loin, turn it back over again, the bottom is slightly charred, but I cook it with the fat on top so that it stays moist. We just cooked Half and saved the other have in the freezer, and still lotsa leftovers, enjoy!
