Midnight at the Oasis

Where are we today ?
A pic of few books we picked up yesterday, not all of them but you get the idea.
The early this morning  we gonna head into Yuma and take in the Car show!  Really gonna be a good day. The show attacks  about about 900 cars for this show and shine.  They call it  Midnight at the Oasis  .   Not sure why because its not at midnight.
Took way to many pictures today but I did narrow it down quite a bit. Below is a few pics of  some of the cars. if you don't want to look at some great cars skip this post.

ariel view of the car show
I had one of these,1959 Volvo  was an amazing car
another car I had 1956 Ford,
first car I put on the road
Now looks like Batman was here, with his Batmobile.

Lots more real cool cars to check out too !
food court was  busy
Lotsa fun things for the kids to do as well.
Then we have the bandtsand  playing tunes from the 60's and later tonight a few bands playng some tributes. Beach boys and stuff,,
It is a huge fair, everything you would want to do is here.,
how is this for a baby buggy?
Now we can stop for a soft ice cream cone, good deal, only $2.00 each! sure hit the spot.

the Sheriff is here and in the dunes
Water car from the 50's, cool trailer.
tiny trailer and a suit case motorcycle on the back,
all in one rving
final rv the Walnut County brothel inspector
Now we got home just before 2 pm , still hot and windy but we found a nice shady spot to relax for a while with our books.

Next the thing to do is read, relax and enjoy. And hey we are really good at that !
Then our feast of choice today is chicken wings and homemade fries. Veggies and dip, another craving taken care of.
That was it for more fun in the sun, hope you had a great day too!
          Thanks for stopping on by.

  1. Sounds like you had another full day but one with lots of fun. Enjoy that weather where you are because just as soon as you start heading home, it won't be that nice.

  6. I especially liked the photos of the Italian Isetta motorcycle car - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isetta . I have always wanted to get my hands on one of those. That would be such an ideal winter vehicle (during the rainy season) in our area of Vancouver, BC.

  7. What an awesome post this is! I felt like I was right there at that car show. It looks like an incredible place. Whoa, that car that has a door that opens in the front? That's a creepy tiny guy inside.....
I also love that you show what books you guys are reading! I read 4 to 5 books a week, and always find some new great authors from yours and Suzie's lists. Thanks! Love your blog, George.

  8. I'll admit that the books interest me more than the cars... but Bill would have loved the show. His sister has 2 antique vehicles... a car and a truck... that she takes to car shows in New Mexico, and I think California. She has a 6 car garage that holds her hobbies. The show sure had something for everyone.

    1. Yes Suzie enjoys the books more than the cars, but did enjoy the walkabout, fresh air and ice cream.
