More great weather, more cleaning, and bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast to finish off the day!

Where are we today ?
We are having more awesome weather again! So I can do more outdoor cleaning after our great summer, perfect day to do it too!
So about noon its was nice and warm, gonna get on the roof and remove our three Max Air vent covers and clean them up.We like to get them done at least once a year and last fall was the last time. After cleaning the fantastic fan yesterday I just knew it was time to do the covers as well.
amazing how dirty they can get in one year
Some more Awesome cleaner and a hose makes it quick work.
all shiny clean now
good to go for a while again
Now for supper tonight we had a couple boneless skinless chicken breasts, lets make them a little more exciting. Bacon Wrapped stuffed with mushrooms, onions, garlic and cream cheese, wrapped with bacon. Check my recipe blog here for the recipe.
pounded thin
ad stuffing
secure with toothpicks and refrigerate for and hour or so
So by now its time for Happy Hour, good timing!
awesome day
So the obligatory social hour then time to fire up our Weber Q. Set the chicken and taters on the grill, turn 2 times in the next 35 minutes and done to perfection.
Chicken was moist and tasty, perfect
I just whipped up a caesar salad and hit the spot!
That was another fun day that we had with this great fall weather and got some more stuff done.
Thanks for stopping on by to check us out. Hope you had a fun day too!

Pinery Flea Market, Clean our fantastic fan and pork stroganoff

Where are we today ?

Well what the heck its ,gonna be another nice day. The weather guessers are saying overcast most of the day and maybe showers in the afternoon, hey guess what? They were right on!
But not too bad and nothing we can't handle, at least it's not heavy rain and its not cold. So about 10:30 this morning we headed off to the Pinery Flea Market in Grand Bend Ontario (one of our favourite places to go on a Sunday). Always something new to see.
the fall theme is in the air
how about a soap box racer?
Only $250.00 !
We wandered about, had some fresh cut fries, did the book exchange with John, then met back with Rob and Pat to listen to Brian Dale an excellent singer in the beer garden here at the market.
Brian Dale great singer,
notice no shoes!
We had a little nibble and a beverage walked about a bit more then headed back towards home.
A few back roads along the way we stopped at Juicy Fruit Orchards. A small family run market thats has great fresh produce at reasonable prices.
We picked up 2 spaghetti squash and 3 acorn squash for a total of $4.00 can't beat that!
Now back home I was in the mood to clean our Fantastic fan. It gets a lot of use and does get pretty dirty. So the best way to clean it is to remove the fan blade. All you need is  3/32 allen wrench and remove a few screws and just wash it all our and reassemble. Click here for directions. Now it can be a fiddly to get the allen key in place but once you figure that out works like a charm.
before we start
dirty fan blade
I just spray with some awesome cleaner and let soak for a few minutes then rinse with hot water and let dry. Same with the screen as well.
looks like new!
good for another six months or so
Got to read under our awning for a while while the drizzly weather carried on then a nice social hour with our friends again.
Suzie got here doggie fix with Lady Girl
Five o;clock time to whip up supper. Yukky weather and gonna cook inside tonight. Leftover pork roast from last night so a Pork stroganoff with egg noodles and an acorn squash cooked in the microwave.  For the squash a little butter and brown sugar, cover a nuke for about 10 minutes until tender.
ready to go
Now the pork stroganoff was easy, just fried up some fresh mushrooms, onions and garlic in a pan. Set aside and made up a tiny bit of instant mushroom gravy, add the leftover pork to heat up, put the onions and mushrooms back in the pot and a few tablespoons of sour cream just before serving over fresh cooked broad egg noodles, sprinkle a little parsley over, add our squash and a nice fresh cheese bun.
sure hit the spot
Perfect meal for a drizzly day and even had some leftovers for a nice lunch snack.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope you enjoyed your sunday too!

Wonderful sunny saturday and cleaning our Blinds today.

Where are we today ?
More sunshine and great weather boy are we living the good life! Lotsa things we can do at this time of year when we are having this awesome weather. So today is gonna be sunny and warm all day 22c (72f) perfect to do some fall cleaning.
In the fall we like remove out metal venetian blinds and clean them.  To remove the blinds I have to remove the valance that holds then in place. So I set to work to remove 2 from our living area and 2 from the bedroom. This is the biggest part on the chore.
Then I hang them on a double line I strung up outside and proceed to spray the with "Awesome" cleaner that I pick up at the dollar store in the good ole USA. Wait a few minutes and just hose therm down and wait to drip dry. No wiping no scrubbing so easy to do.
this cleaner is Awesome!
sprayed with cleaner and just hose down
While I had the valences out they are cleaned too, spray with cleaner, hose them down and let dry in the sun.
valences drying
blinds drying
By early afternoon everything is dry and I can re-install the valences and clean blinds. Sure glad that we have these metal blinds, so easy to clean and re string when necessary, still look like new after 14 years!
bedroom back together and bookcases back in place
Got this done in time to prep supper tonight and having a pork roast on our Weber Q, Sweet potatoes with apples, brown sugar and cinnamon, and carrots in foil. Check my recipe blog or click HERE.While it was cooking we had a nice social hour with our friends Rob and Pat.
Taters, apples, cinnamon ready for the Q
Preheat the grill and turn down low drop the roast on for 30 minutes then the taters and carrots for another 30 minutes until the pork reaches 160 f, done to perfection.  For the recipes check my other blog at the top right of the side bar or click here for the Roast pork on the Q.
so moist and tasty
We are so lucky to have this awesome weather here at this time of year, just lovin' it!
After supper we were invited over to Joe and Nancy's for a campfire at 8pm. So got some stuff done and wandered on over with our chairs and beverage.
A great time we had with this great fall weather, about 20 people there around the fire, telling stories, jokes and a lots laughs, such a great time we had. But we do have to come home at some time and get our beauty sleep. Or maybe just getting too old for these all nighters any more. But thats ok it sure was fun.
sure do love this lifestyle
Thanks for stopping on in to visit, too bad you were not here for this wonderful campfire.

Sunshine, putter about, a fun sunny fall day, and a good feast of chicken wings too !

Where are we today ?

We are having another wonderful warm sunny fall day and we are just loving this weather. Early morning walkabouts, computing. coffees and a few phone calls to secure our "out of province" insurance for the winter months.
That was all done, we took a short trip to Forest for a few food items and check out the small "farmer's Market" in town.
Back home bite to eat for lunch, I puttered about a bit and applied some "Protectal Wax and UV protector to our vinyl graphics. Sure is helping to keep them from drying out and cracking. Still looking good after 14 years!
Now we get to relax for a while and enjoy our books in the shade (to hot to sit in the sun). Of course while sitting outside people stop by and chat so we had a busy day. And Suzie had a few visits from some local dogs too. Got her "doggie" fix. Her favourite I think is little Tucker only a few months old such a sweetie!

Tucker
Then just before 5 o"clock Rob and Pat stopped in for a bit of a social hour then a little later we went to the Arkona Fairways Golf Course for supper with another dozen people from the campground for the last feast of the season for cheap Chicken Wings and Beer. Not too bad for Canadian prices .65 cent wings and $2.50 for bottled beer.
We all had a good tasty meal
even the friendly Office manager was there too
had a great feast and too much fun
Well we all had a fun time great conversation and good food.
Then before we know it time to head back home around the corner (only about 1 mile), with our volunteered  DD Rob, such an obliging fellow and good friend.
But then we got home about 8 o'clock time to relax a bit post this blog and then let the tv watch me for a bit.

Sunshine, great weather and my new recipe Blog.

Where are we today ?
Today was a wonderful fall day, sunshine and warm 7c (45f) overnight up to 21c (70f) during the day. Almost Arizona weather. Getting us prepared for our winter migration!
This morning I fine tuned my New Blog a bit that I put together after a suggestion from a few other bloggers. Just look at the right sidebar and under "George's Recipes etc..."  click on  "Cooking on my Weber Q and other recipes" to view a few of our favourites. I will add more as time permits and as I whip up a few more.
Then as this awesome day progressed I purchased a wash permit here and proceeded to give our coach a real good washing, (its been a few months). Scrubbed our metal roof to make it shine and all the rest making it look almost new again. First wash since our complete wax job I did way back in July.
Even gave our car a quick wash too while I was at it.
By now its 4 o'clock, time to relax a bit, no time to read today. Over to our friends Rob and Pat for a nice social hour, resolve more world problems. And chatted with a few other people as they walked on by.
A nice sunny spot to sit and chat
Then home to fire up our Weber Q to grill a couple burgers and some homemade fries in our Fry Daddy.
Homemade burgers and homemade fries
perfect to and a nice sunny day
We had planned to maybe play darts tonight at the clubhouse for 7 pm. But after a busy few hours washing and on my feet my lower back was a bit tired so we thought it best to just relax at home and get it feeling better. I am beginning to know my limits and think its a good thing, so as not to cause problems.
Anywho thanks for stopping by again and hope all is well with you

Sunshine, sausage rolls, rolled ribs and a great day

Where are we today ?
Wonderful sunny fall day. Think we almost like this weather, a bit cooler than I like but at least its not cold and "snowy". This morning a quick trip to Forest for a few food items and a "senior" discount every Wednesday at the Foodtown. Saved big bucks! 10 percent of your bill not too shabby!
But I had 2 cravings today sausage rolls with puff pastry and rolled ribs with a sage dressing. So I whipped up the ribs ready for later on and set them aside.  For the recipe you can click here.
dressing made and ready to roll
rolled and tied
ready to cook
But then I threw together a bunch of sausage rolls with a puff pastry, again so easy and very tasty.
Sausage rolls were awesome click here to see how I made them.
For this awesome afternoon we were able to read for a while in the sun and relax. Then Rob and Pat dropped by to sample my sausage rolls. Great for "Happy Hour" appys, then we both fired up our Weber Q's. They did a chicken and we did our ribs.
Weber Q 100 doing the trick
so tasty and hit the spot
This was the first time I did these ribs on our Weber Q and should have cooked them longer would have been more tender. But they were very tasty and edible as was the taters, sauerkraut and fresh asparagus.
You think all we do is eat? Thats not the truth, we have fun, walkabouts, research, reading, chatting together and with friends, and a lot of food prep (that I enjoy). Sure keeps us busy. Think tomorrow gonna play outside all day!
Any who hope you had a great day too. and thanks for stopping on by.
By the way I am enjoying these G+ comments sure does give interaction with commenters and replies, probably the most comments I have had in one day ever. Thanks for the tip Rick.
