Up and at it early again, cool outside at 47 F and again gonna be another windy cool day. But the skies are blue and the sun is shining we can always handle that, Hey no snow! The main reason we are here. Got a couple of early walkabouts certainly is refreshing in the cool wind.

| lots of rigs are pulling in now after Christmas as usual |
About 9:30 this morning Suzie and I headed out to the
Arizona Market Place for the first time this year. Checking it out there it was not busy and not nearly as many vendors as their used to be but we found the ones we wanted. The vendor with amazing date nut loves was there and we had to get one , just because they are sooo tasty. Veggie vendors there and got some wonderful Mineola Tangerines that we also love. Found the chair vendor and he has the chairs we want , but not yet, my comfy chair is still holding in there. Then the water filter guy we talked to last year has a filter cartridge that softens the hard water, and it fits in out filter canister, we will give it a try . Looking forward to some softer water.
| this be the place , not as busy as it used t be years ago |
| a couple of fresh veggies stands here |
| love these Mineolas, oh so tasty |
| prices not too bad |
Then Wallys World always something to find here and we did.
We just kept on strolling along enjoying the fact that not many people here and were actually out of the wind. Cool in the shade but usually always is at this time of year.
In the centre food court Duke Michaels was setting up to entertain, but we were pretty well done here today , saw what we wanted and got what we needed too.
early in the season and a cooler day, still early in the day and pretty quiet |
| love these Mineolas |
This vendor still here makes custom dash covers we bought one in 2006 for our car and love it.
| custom seat covers too |
Then home for a light tasty lunch, Next I flushed our hot water tank, (it's been a while) and installed the new softener filter, think we will be good to go.
Now the wind has died down quite a bit so we can enjoy our page turners outside in the warming sun. Yahoo !
While outside we noticed all these butterflies everywhere, on the ground in the trees not large only and inch or so across . I am wondering if these might be part of the Monarch Butterfly winter migration, close to the Mexican Border. any body have input here?
| these guys are every where |
Then I took s short drive over to the Pilot Knob next to here to see if anything new there.
| a nice dirt road back here to the trails |
you can see a hiking trail that will take you to the top, no I cannot do that by myself says Suzie |
I had counted the shrimp we bought yesterday in Mexico from Rocky point. 40 large shrimp in 2 lbs just the size we like, I cleaned a 1/2 lb for supper and froze the rest in 3 bags for future meals.
Tonight the plan is to make one of Suzie's favourite shrimp dishes, Garlic shrimp pasta, you can click
HERE for the recipe or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
| just a perfect size we like |
| saute everything together then add the pasta and garlic |
| yummy?yup it sure was |
And as we enjoyed our supper we also enjoyed a wonderful sunset right out our dinning room window . Really hard to beat a view like this!
| that's about it for our sunset today no complaints |
Now supper done , dishes done, and we can head to the clubhouse to watch the Karaoke for a couple of hours. Always a good time watching the people singing and having fun, especially Joe, he does an amazing job. He sang a few songs and a duet of a Patsy Cline. Then Suzie's request Sold (the Grundy County Auction) A real upbeat song that she just loves and Joe sure did it justice.
| Joe doing his stuff a really good singer |
| he is singing Sold here, |
Now home shortly after 8 pm time to wrap up this posting and call it a night after a very good sunny winter day.
