Bloggerfest Survey Question, and a very windy desert day !

      A reminder about Bloggerfest this coming January 23rd. The poster is below feel free to copy and post it on your Blogs, facebook  or emails as well so the word gets out and to remind any people in the area that wish to come out for three hours of socializing and meeting some other bloggers and Rv'ers.
      I have had a request and mention that we bring in a Porta Potti for the day and finally have approval from BLM office in Yuma that we may do so. The cost could be about $85.00 for the day. And to pay for this I thought about having a raffle or donation bucket and a draw so that any left over money, hopefully there will be some, can go to the winner of the draw.  I would appreciate your thoughts and feedback on this please.

       I will find a location maybe on Plomosa road (10 Miles north of Main st. in Quartzsite just off 95.) a couple of days before then and let you all know exactly where at that time.  It is a free 14 day dry camping area so feel free to bring your rigs and stay a while if you like.

Now for an update for today

        The predicted winds today are here as promised, north winds about 35 mph with gusts as high a 50 mph. Now any one who has been in the desert knows what this means, blowing sand, and dust with visibility close to zero at times. 
         Outside first thing and found our 2 small folding tables had blown over and the 2 Santa hats on our mirrors are "Gone With the Wind". A walkabout later retrieved one of them against the fence at the south side of the resort, the other is still (MIA) missing in action, if it got over the fence could be in Mexico by now? Also saw along the fence line some chairs, tire covers and patio mats there as well.

         It was windy enough that we pulled in our slide as well, less wind noise and and draughts for most of the day
         We had planned to go to the Arizona Marketplace today (huge Flea Market), but really not a great day to be out and about, that market is pretty open and can be breezy even with a light wind, maybe tomorrow. So today a few windy walkabouts, some computing and reading. And found a movie on TV there is a super hero marathon on tv and a perfect day to watch it, The Avengers. We don't watch a lot of Tv but the timing was perfect, prefer to be outside walking and reading, but was difficult to much of either with the wind and dust.

        Movie done by 4 pm another walkabout and whip up supper. Inside of course  much to windy and dusty for the Weber Q today. An easy Chicken Pilaf done in one pan so quick and tasty. Kinda like a Hamburger helper meal, but not a packaged meal, much healthier and less sodium.

      This is quick and easy one pan meal. 5 minutes prep and 10-15 minutes to cook all done in one pan. and so very tasty.

         Now we have another interesting dusty desert day, but still the sun was shining through the dust and really not too cold. Can't be perfect everyday now can it ? That would get boring right?
