Blythe Intaglios and last day here in Ehrenberg...

Where are we today ?
Ehrenberg AZ
Another sunny warm day, so before it gets too hot we did a short 20 minute drive to the Blythe Intaglios. You can check it out HERE if you wish or directions here  to the Intalglios.
A nice drive through the desert on a good paved road, winding towards the mountains until we found the sign.
this be the sign
A dirt road took us back to the where we want to be. A high clearance 4 wheel drive would be nice, but our Saturn did it "very carefully" and very slow.
first one we saw
All these areas are fenced in to prevent vandalism and so they should be. Nobody knows who did them, what they mean and when, but they have been here since they were discovered in the 1930's. By an air plane pilot.
On the way back stopped at this dam, just because we could. It diverts the Colorado river to various areas and canals for irrigation.
Back to the resort  checked out the Cemetery across the road. We were here a few years ago and has not changed. Everybody still dead!
Back home a bite to eat for lunch and just puttered around for a while, Check tires, dump and flush our holding tanks. Chat with a few neighbors. We are on the road in the morning to Desert Hot springs in California.
Relaxed for a while enjoying our books in the shade. Such a wonderful day. Actually not sure it can get much better.
Shortly after 4 o'clock our friends Ron and Loree stopped in for a final "Happy hour" with them for a bit and even brought "Freddie" along to give Suzie another "doggie" fix. Such a friendly puppy he is.
Then I get to whip up supper. What you see below, excellent Fetucine we picked up in Texas last winter, so tasty...
While supper is cooking Suzie can enjoy her book a bit more.
Sunset it not too bad, considering we are in a park
marinated fresh garlic shrimp on our Weber,
about 3-4 minutes a side, low and slow.
Before that was done cooked our Fetucine, made a nice lettuce salad. Cooked pasta and whipped up with a bit of olive oil, garlic, parmesan. Really hit the spot.
a nice tasty, easy supper tonight.
That was our last fun day here time to move on down the road. New places and new faces.
       " California here we come"
Thanks for coming in to visit and if you can find us drop by anytime, we are usually around and welcome everyone.

Just hanging out enjoying the weather, do we need to do much more?

Where are we today ?
Not much happening today to report. Standard stuff, coffees, computing and walkabouts this resort in the morning before it gets too hot. And it will get hot! No clouds, no wind, just the way we love it!
our forecast for the week, looks awesome!
The morning sunrise looks pretty good again today, yep know it will be a great day.
Before noon had our awning open and sun screen down to give us a bit of shade.
perfect for enjoying our books and puttering around
this guy has his 5th wheel and his toy too
Suzie's new book today, Sharon
No "happy hour" get together today and thats just fine. We can be happy all by ourselves, nice and quiet. More reading can be done.
Soon time to fire up our Weber Q 100.  Grill a couple homemade burgers, and home made fries in our Fry Daddy.
burgers so good and fries done to perfection
took care of our fast food fix real quick,
even better, oh and cheaper too.
Like cheaper!
Not much different than we had been doing but suits us just fine. Do we need to do much more than enjoy this amazing weather?
Thanks for stopping by again, hope you had great day too.

A nice quiet day enjoying this great weather.

Where are we today ?
Early morning walkabouts enjoying the sunrise and clear blue skies, after the coffees and computing is done. Perfect weather.
A quick trip to the store by 8:30 am and no where else to go. Perfect!
Relax in the shade, read a bit, putter around, walkabouts and chat with neighbors too. No hurry to do anything other than what we are doing.
perfect day in the shade (its hot in the sun!)
Had a comment yesterday from Sharon asking about the books we read. Well Suzie has an Access data base 10 pages long of our favourite authors and books we like and have read. Two book cases in our bedroom are full and we have another 29 books in a bag all yet to read. Should be enough to get us back to Ontario in mid April.
my book case
Suzie's Book case
the books we are reading today
All pretty fast paced reading crime scene type thrillers is what we enjoy.
After puttering around some more with a few things and flushing our hot water tank can read a bit more.
Then make a nice snack for "Happy Hour" that she enjoys. About 1/2 a pack of these Lit'l Smokies (20 pieces), wrapped in pieces of Pillsbury Crescent rolls and baked in the oven makes for nice tasty nibbles during our social time. Easy peasy recipe HERE.
so yummy for a snack
At 4 pm headed over to Denis and Diane's for the Happy hour. They are leaving in the morning as well as Judi and Jim. A few other snacks and lively conversation moves around their patio.
they have a nice orange tree in the site too,
so snapped up a few right off the tree.
One great thing about these socials is that we get to share so much information. Places to see, tricks of the trade, even a few jokes and lies that go right along with having a great time.
everybody is Happy
Now we do have to finally head home and whip up supper. Fire up our Weber Q as the sun is beginning to set.
Moon rising too
Tonight a couple very tasty garlic butter Bratwust from the Missouri.
grilled some zucchini slices
added some homefried potatoes
Sure hit the spot at the end of another fun day here in southwest Arizona.
Not bad for a Monday the beginning of another fun week.
Thanks to stopping by again, hope your day was awesome too!

More sunshine and getting hot, met more people from Ontario.

Where are we today ?
Just more sun shinny warm weather here. Boring for you? Sorry, thats what we are here for. After computing and coffees, early morning walkabouts the resort. Down by the Colorado River and just having a great day.
nice path by the river
lotsa bamboo here too
Around 9 am Suzie and I headed to Blythe for a few supplies. Cold stuff for her a few groceries only 8 minutes away.
Back home we stopped by the office and pool to pick up a permit to wash  our coach and car. Only $5.00 for both. Good deal!
nice pool, and hot tub
Now we had an early lunch then I proceeded to wash all the dirt and dust off our coach and car, Starting at the roof. Sure looks better now!
We even had time to read our books for a while in the shade, need shade , getting pretty hot here in the sun. 85f in the shade.
Now around 4 pm headed on down to Ron and Loree's for "happy hour". Jim and Judi, and Denis and Diane showed up too from Windsor Ontario, the Ontario crowd is getting bigger here!
Snacks and conversation flowed like water, where did the time go!
Then Ron got his accordion out and played some amazing tunes for us! Name that tune. Polkas and all, some we did not know. He has played this amazing instrument for most of his life.
great polka's
I made a short video below of this tune that everyone knows, (Tennessee Waltz) hope you can view it. Ron has not played much for the last ten years, so think he did pretty good, we enjoyed it.
Happy hour extended until we just had to head home to whip up supper. Awesome weather !  A good time was had by all. Even a few neighbors dropped by to enjoy his playing too.
Fired up our Weber Q as the sun was beginning to set again. Quick and easy tonight. Grilled salmon with dill sauce. (check my recipe Blog on the top of the side bar for the recipe)
another nice sunset
salmon with dill sauce
Added a rice pilaf and a fresh baked bun from the store to round off a quick, easy and very tasty meal.
sure was tasty
While enjoying supper we did something we very seldom do. Watched tv. At 6 pm there was a 50 year anniversary special of the Beattles. Ed Sullivan clips and so on. I do remember when they invaded north America. Would they make it? I was not really a fan at the time but do remember all those great songs.
As usual I watched bits and pieces of the special, and enjoyed some parts of it, but sure brought back a lot of memories! The special ended up excellent!
Now eventually time to call it a night. Windows open, great for sleeping, fresh air. A bit of road noise here for Suzie. Not for me though, take out the hearing aides and all is very quiet for me.
Thanks for stopping in once again, to see how we enjoy this lifestyle as full time rv'ers.
