Yep the weather went for shit, but it could be worse!

Where are we today ?
Well we had an awesome day yesterday, overcast a bit and 80 f in the shade. Like I mentioned on yesterdays posting it's downhill now. And it was fast trip.
Got up this morning a bit chilly inside (50f) at 4:30 so flipped on the furnace and our Mr Heater for a bit, soon 72 f. Only 32f outside, yep its chilly out there. Well waited all day and then temps went down and stayed about 29f for the rest of the day. We toasty warm inside but kinda brutal cold with the winds out there so did not spend a lot of time on my walkabouts.
lots of rv sites and over half full
Just a quick trip to town (the Dollar General we can do a top up right there, and these stores are almost everywhere) top up our Verizon mifi account then home to do some computing, reading, planning and even discussing stuff with my Suzie.
They have lots of activities here if we choose to participate (card games, bingos and lots more) a restaurant, pot luck meals,etc.. Breakfast special and tonight a spaghetti dinner, saturday a steak dinner, if we feel the need.
But I usually prefer to cook at home, just because I can.
temperatures sat here all day
its just plain cold out there,
but we toasty warm inside
Now don't feel much like firing up our Weber Q in this weather so for a change I get to cook inside for a few days from the looks of it.
Tonight I checked the freezer and have some leftover roast pork, perfect for a hot pork sandwich with gravy, creamy whipped potatoes, and some leftover corn I found in the fridge as well. Quick, easy and very tasty.
this hit the spot tonight
Because this cold front is coming through and winter storm warning for a few days sure glad we decided to stay put here for a couple weeks. No travelling needed, we have full hookups and facilities here and lotsa propane, good internet, satellite dish (if we ever turn the TV on) and books too.
Speaking of internet I saw a picture of this real cool camper below. How would you like to travel with this baby? Certainly pretty compact, cute, reasonable and a head turner, but not really for us fulltime rv'ers thats for sure. Sure would have been fun about 40 years ago when we were much younger.
cute camper
Now supper done, the day is about done too, relax a bit, post the blog , read for a while and then let the tv watch me until Suzie gets me up to go to bed. And ya know it is really fun to experience all these places even if the weather is not perfect, we just like moving around. At least we know it will get better soon. This is Texas if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes and it will change.
Just wanna thank y'all for stopping on by to check in on us, we are "Awesome"

  2. We say the same thing about Ohio weather. We can have snow, rain and sun all in a matter of an hour.

Not into that camper. I am a bit spoiled.

  3. As long as it does not snow life is good.

  4. Brrrrrrrrrrr.......... we had 17C today but by Sunday is supposed to be a high of 4C. I'd stay put if I were you guys too - it sounds pretty cozy - no sense going anywhere right now. Pretty neat tent system on the car but it would seem to be quite the hassle to get set up each day! Aren't General Dollars EVERYWHERE - Derek and I say that all the time!

  5. Well, if you have hook-ups and enough sources of heat, you'll be fine. Warmer clothes are bulky though, and that's the only part that annoys me ever so slightly. Just can't dash outside. Well, not for very long anyway.
That little camper is sure cute. I *think* the suspension might have needed a little help?

    1. We have layers of clothes to keep us warm, not a problem there.
And we have 4 heat sources so that is not a problem either.

  6. Just think how cold that camper would be in the weather you are currently having. Those winds and temperatures would soak it. Good thing you have a hard shell on yours.

    1. That camper sure would be chilly, but our coach is well insulated and dual pane windows, no problem here.

  8. A bit on the cool side for here the past couple of days, with a bit of rain but still much warmer then you with a high of 14C and the low still being about 8C. Woke up to the sunshine this morning. Great looking dinner for a cold evening luv comfort foods when it's cold. This is an ROD park also? Sure like the size of your site and the amenities sound great. Enjoyed the picture of the camper.

  9. Thanks for stopping by for dinner.
The weather can always be worse, we will get to Arizona eventually, no big hurry.
And yes it is another ROD park so more free camping for us again.

  10. Too bad about the cold weather - but I know you always make the best of things anyway! Love the bug with the tent on top! For a younger couple for sure! - Keep on smiling! - Monique

    1. Always smiling, you guys too.
No matter, like I said, we enjoy this lifestyle no matter what, a change is always nice.

  11. This cold front even got down into south Texas. We live fairly close to the Gulf and it seems to modify the weather, but it was cold this morning. Down to 42 degrees here in Cut & Shoot.

  12. Quite a drop in temperature, I'd say. We spent the night in our trailer in Bangor, Me last night. Had to pick up Bea at the airport, and the night was a cold one.

  13. We hear you loud and clear, George. It's been really cool during our travels and just this mid-afternoon, after arriving in Wikieup, AZ, it started to rain after our set up and it is still pattering on the 5th wheel roof. We're led to believe, from the TV weather folks, that the sun could shine and the temperatures could rise tomorrow. Can't wait.

    1. Sunshine and warmer is why we are here, guess we have to wait a bit more.
