Where are we today ?
Another great night's sleep we had, cold yes but we toasty warm inside. This morning's walkabout was refreshing and clear blue skies. Some ground frost and a bit of fog but really enjoyed it.
|
love the deer and bear footprints thats they put in the cement sidewalks too. |
|
nice fall colors with the morning sun too |
Then about 11 am we took Rob and Pat for a tour about this huge resort. They have Teepee camping, and tent type camping too as well as many rental trailers and cabins.
|
teepees here |
|
tents here |
|
nice beaches too! |
Then a nice country drive about 10 miles to Swiss MO and
Swiss Meat and sausage Co. It looked like an interesting place to go after checking their website and close by as well. A tiny village with really just the store and church here.
Well this place is a destination all in its own.
They have awards lining their walls from all over. 51 different types of sausage alone! And we got to taste a whole bunch of their priducts right here. Demonstrations and information.
|
Awards line the walls |
|
tasty samples |
|
so many choices |
Now after looking at all they had and all the free samples we thought maybe have a Braut on a bun, very reasonable prices here too!
|
Suzie had baked potato and cheese Brautwurst hot german potato salad too |
|
me jalapeno and onion Braut with hot german potato salad |
|
neat preserves, Apple Butter, Sweet potato butter, etc... |
They also had a special on the sausage so we picked up a bunch of products and made our way back to camp enjoying this wonderful outing on a beautiful sunny day.
|
Deer hunting season here right now, they do custom butchering here too, love the staffs t shirts. |
Now back at the resort and checking out a few more of their huge buildings they have here with so much to do.
|
on the indoor mini golf course |
Now a wonderful sunny afternoon we had time to enjoy our books for a while then an early social hour with our friends. But with the time change it starts to get cooler shortly after 4 pm as the sun begins to set. So inside and whip up a tasty supper. Some specialty Fettucine we picked up in Texas last winter and a couple fully cooked and smoked BBQ'D pork steak we picked up this afternoon at Swiss. Steamed broccoli and we has a very tasty supper.
|
sure hit the spot and a few leftovers as usual |
That was another fun day we had here in Missouri and would like to thank ya'll for stopping on by too.
|
Even Rob and Pats' Lady girl says thanks too! |

ReplyDeleteBaked potato and cheese Brautwurst...very interesting.
It was fun and we did spend a bit but have a good supply of very tasty Brauts.
DeleteBrr, too cold for me. Glad we are in the heat.
ReplyDeleteNot that bad here, sunshine, pretty warm days and some neat new places to explore.
DeleteAlright - I'm sorry but your pasta in the dinner picture looks like worms to me. LOL I would love that sausage place - what a neat store.
ReplyDeleteMay look like worms but a Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine so the pasta looks that way and tastes awesome, just with a little olive oil and parmesan cheese. And their sausage is soo good too.
DeleteHowdy George,
ReplyDeleteY'all are doing RVing like it's supposed to be done !!! We are really enjoying wandering around with y'all... You find the neatest places to investigate and ALWAYS find great places to EAT !!!
Hope y'all find some new adventures today and have a HAPPY DAY !!!
We don't always explore everyday but thats ok too. No hurry to go anywhere so what's the hurry?
DeleteI'm sure I would have come out of there with a huge bag of stuff. Two dollar steaks, eh? That's a deal that's hard to pass up. They looked good.
ReplyDeleteThe pork steaks were very tasty and could not turn down for two bucks. We have limited fridge and freezer space but did walk away with 5- one pound pacakges of sausage.
DeleteThat Swiss Meat and Sausage store sure looks like your kind of place, George!
ReplyDeleteIt was so! My kind of place for sure.
DeleteWOW! that was some sausage store, sure I would find something to my liking with all those choices. Enjoyed the pic's, dinner sounded good too! Those noodles sure would be fun to try, always up to trying different things. Forgot to mention the hot dogs I tried George style were pretty tasty PB and all!
ReplyDeleteAm sure would find some tasty sausage there, we did.
DeleteSee PB on hot dogs is not as bad as it sounds, glad you enjoyed.
