Happy New Year!

Where are we today ?
Ok how can you not like having New Years eve day in southern California, sunshine and warm weather, shorts T-shirts, friends, cool beverages and good food.
Today was all of the above, walkabouts, chat with people, enjoy the desert and reading our books in the shade.
Nice sunrise this morning before it heats up.
Just a nice relaxing day that we really enjoy. I made some fresh cranberry sauce with orange zest for our Turkey dinner tomorrow.
Another couple from Ontario arrived today, friends that we all know here. Emile and Monique so more lively conversation for "Happy hour".  Now 7 couples here that we know of from Ontario.
Suzie got her doggie fix with Piper today
Then time for a bite to eat. We having a spaghetti squash, just heat in the microwave for 10 minutes cut in half, cooks it perfect. Had some spaghetti sauce in our freezer to heat up and a couple fresh buns, really hit the spot.
Then we had decided to have New Years Eve campfire here with our propane fire pit. Not sure what the clubhouse is doing other than bring a snack and BYOB, no advertising about a dance or anything. Much quieter here with our friends and we can go inside when we feel like.
So set up the fire pit and we gathered around for a few adult beverages from about 7:30 until 10 pm. That equates to midnight back in Ontario. Good enough for us, we get to celebrate New Years Eve with those back home and get to bed before we fall asleep!
New Years Eve around our Propane fire
Is that not a perfect New Years Eve Celebration for us OLD folks? Worked for us.
Lady Girl was all ready for the party
Glad you could stop by and ring in the New Year with us.
Would like wish everybody a Happy and Healthy new Year!

Met more Rv'ers from Ontario, great weather and awesome pizza made by John !

Where are we today ?
Just more great weather and loving it. Cold nights (great for sleeping) and warm sunny days.
Had a question about the cinnamon bacon we had for breakfast yesterday and yes thats what we had, very tasty and different.  We bought this at Swiss Sausage and meats in Herman MO a while back along with some great sausage.
First thing this morning, 8 am (after coffees and walkabouts) I headed into town to pick up a few supplies then back home.
We had our package arrive at the resort. A new camera I had ordered on line last thursday. To replace my Panasonic Lumix TS20. Only 18 months old and love the camera, but the display was not working much anymore, really hard to take pics and change settings on my camera., Paid $179.00 for it in Aug. 2012, love the camera. Perfect point and shoot with all the features that work amazing. Found this new one on E Bay at a camera store in LA only $89.00 (brand new, demo model) and free shipping. Arrived this morning gotta love the great service and price too. Now I have a spare camera, extra battery and hope it lasts as long as the last one. It has taken over 14,000 pics so does not owe us much.
display on old camera
So another walkabout taking more test pictures and seems to work just wonderful, exactly what I want.
Now we can enjoy some nice sunny afternoon weather reading our books, works for us.
But then we are invited to join in "Happy hour" to see what everybody has been doing today.
While chatting John had agreed to make a couple homemade pizzas for us. So he set to work making the dough and preparing the toppings.
John hard at work
While he was doing this two more couples from Ontario joined our Happy hour. One couple from Creemore Ontario and the other couple manage Sangri-La family Campground in St Catherines Ontario.
Such a small world, all these people from Ontario Canada all the way here in southern California, 3,000 miles away from home. We chatted and chatted getting to know each other and promising to meet again soon ( maybe tomorrow).
Then is getting cool and John yells out "Pizza is done"
Inside we head to have a nice feast of John's excellent homemade pizza.
so yummy
good friends, good food and awesome weather
Thanks John love your pizza
Christmas cake for desert hit the spot
Thats it, enough fun for one day, lets call it a night.
Thanks for dropping on by, sorry, no pizza leftovers today, was way too good.

Sunday, sunny and another relaxing day !

Where are we today ?
Today just another sunny warm day.Morning walkabouts the desert and enjoying these sunny cloudless  days.
They have a breakfast thing this morning at the clubhouse 5 bucks each but I can make it at home for much less and much better, so thats what we did.
Before that I made a quick trip to Fry's in town, picked up a few specials then back home for breaky.
Fresh cinnamon bacon, my home fried potatoes (not frozen), toast and eggs the way we like them. Sure hit the spot and cost next to nothing.
breaky was awesome
Now we just puttered around for a few hours and enjoyed our books in the sun and shade. Do we love this ? Yep you bet we do.
wonderful cloudless sunny day,
this is what Arizona is all about
But then around 3:30  the call for "Happy Hour" so we responded and go to hang out with a few friends to review our days and tell a few stories and lies.
Hank loves sitting on Suzie's lap
But the time comes to fire up our Weber Q and Fry Daddy. Just cause, we have a craving for chicken wings, fresh cut fries, and celery carrots with a blue cheese dip. So easy and so tasty sure hit the spot
