Wow did I ever get a good sleep. and my back is starting to feel much bette, Was 5:15 this morning when I woke up.  Perfect ! Got some coffees and computing done. Enjoyed a wonderful colourful sunrise this morning again , these desert skies never cease to amaze.
Then I had a craving to make a pot of soup. Checked to see what we have, ok Hurst's Ham and bean soup mix, some ham in the freezer to use up. Just wanted a bone . So get the beans on to boil and a quick trip to town for a smoked pork hock, diced tomatoes and a lemon.  The smoked pork hock adds the smoky flavour but not much meat . Our leftover ham added the meat so this will make a very tasty hearty pot of soup. Especially nice for the cooler weather coming.
love this bean soup mix
a very tasty large pot of stoup.
After lunch a quick trip to Discount Solar in Q, to replace and LED bulb that has been flickering. A nice bright one for our outside patio light. They got me a new one and said no charge they are guaranteed for 2 years. Good deal, really like dealing with these guys.
this new LED bulb  was free under warranty
Next plan was to clean our Blue flame heater, The flame is more yellow than blue. So took Bills advice . Cleaned the burner and and now looks wonderful . Clear blue flame and heating just like it was new again.
our Blue Flame like new again
Back home and relaxed in the shade with our e-readers and comfortable 75F with a nice 15 mph south wind.
another great desert day here in the southwest.
temos to 76 F perfect
Then at 3 pm I found out Happy hour at our place today, Hey that is perfect. Our last one here with all of our friends, Some are heading out in the morning and we are sure we will meet op again somewhere on down the road again.
another fun Happy Hour with these guys
The sun was setting as we wrapped up our HH, and we got our roast pork loin and the grill for supper.
a nice small pork loin roast we do love on our trivet
this did the trick tonight and once again some leftovers
As super was winding down we got to enjoy another wonderful desert sunset. We sure do love this area !

Where are we today ?

Even milder again over night, 54 F at 5 am feels wonderful. My lower back was still bothering me from yesterday so so not want to push  my luck. So right at 7 am a quick trip to town, for a few groceries and a stop at Dollar General. So nice now at this time of the morning after the big shows, no traffic and I was the only person in both stores .
Heading back checked the big Tent and yup it is gone. Only 2 days after the last day of this huge event. Then home Suzie and I hopped in the coach to go and top up our propane tank. 19.9 gallons.  ($2:30 a gallon)The gauge said it was empty it actually holds 23.6 gallons it has lasted us 26 days now so worked well for us. This done back to "home dirt " and set up for a few more days enjoying this desert we so love.
sunrise this morning in town
the BIG Tent is down and gone
nice and quiet here now
After lunch the rest of Silly al's Pizza heated perfectly in the frying pan on low with a lid and tsp of water , until the cheese remelts and the the crust is softly fresh again. Then I took a nice drive around a different area here getting so nice and quiet here now.  Finished reading a John Sandford novel then another one in the series, all good page tuners.
the best way to reheat pizza
The drive about this very quiet area as people are heading out again. love the green that is  coming up after the rains we had.
I finished a Sandford novel and jumped right in to another love his books.
enough page turner
I noticed Bill had his drone out showing it to Ken, and was giving flying lessons. Then I got lessons and and my first 2 minutes in the air flying, what a fun machine, and it takes excellent photos as well. Thanks Bill for the lesson and fun flying experience .
ready to take off
Bill has been flying for over 30 years
showing Rob as well
Hey! that's me flying a drone, too much fun!
I flew over to peek at Suzie
A bit later Happy Hour and I made a pitcher of Beer Margaritas (for that recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar. I got from Deb last year). Thanks Deb these are very tasty.
ingredients for the Beer Margaritas
At 2;30 the ladies went over to Kim's for a cooking demonstration with her Intsatpot. She made some very tasty Macaroni and cheese in 5 minutes.  Thanks for he samples Kim and am sure sure the ladies enjoyed your show  (Cooking with Kim ).
quick and easy does it with Kim
Then we gathered outside still 70 F but cooler in the shade. In no time the pitcher of margaritas were consumed  with 10 people.
more fun sharing stories, flapping our gums
About 4:30 we headed home to whip up supper. Tonight some acorn squash in foil on the Weber Q and a couple of very tasty smoked pork chops from the Roadrunner market in town that we love.
2 minutes a side and these chops are perfect
added to our salad and the rest of the fresh cheese bread from
town we had a feast and of course more leftovers
Supper just about done and we enjoyed some more of another wonderful colourful desert sunset, we never get tired of these and always amazing to see. I did not edit these pictures below with my camera set at sunset photos this is what it saw.
reflecting on the mountains to the east of us

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
After a fun day yesterday and good night's sleep and up early before the sunrise of another wonderful day. Coffees etc then securing our  coach to head into RV Lifestyle in Quartzsite for 8 am to get our slide out seal replaced. After all it is over 20 years old and we have discovered a water leak around  it when it rains. So best to get that repaired before any water damage is done. Our go to place to get rv repairs done when we are here in the southwest. We have found very good service here and reliable over the years.
Arrived here at 7:50 am and checked in. Hang out in their lounge , enjoying our e readers, and watch a bit of news on their TV. Walked around the building a few times got some exercise and actually got 3  miles in today. They finally got the coach inside about 10:30 and started working on it. It will be a while.
love this Saguaro cactus out back too
bad it is beside the dumpster
this guys treat us really well
nice lounge to relax, free coffee and popcorn
the guys beside us making a huge puzzle
they got this slide out seal in but
after all did not need to use it
saved a few hundred bucks
these seals still good, it is the eterna bond on top of the slide
that is damaged

It was now lunch time so we headed over to the Yacht Club for lunch. And enjoyed their tasty cod fish snd  chip dinner. Sure hit the spot.
nice Yacht Club in the desert
a very tasty fish and chip lunch we enjoyed
Now after lunch over to the Library to use their free wifi, check emails and update our devices.
a very nice library here we enjoy
back to check out progress, slide trim off
and most of the work done inside

love this sand rail here would be fast
5 passenger with a Hemi!
this Hemi sure would sail through the dunes
Still waiting so I went to the Jerky store (yes it is really good, free samples) But I was interested in their hot sauces and BBQ sauces. They do have an amazing selection here. The Jerky was tasty, I had a few samples.
so many unique  sauces to choose from
I settled on a the Bourbon BBQ sauce, that Suzie will like
and the Habanero sauce for me, oh ya!
Finally done at RV lifestyles, they also installed a new exhaust pipe support for our generator. I filled our fresh water tank while there to save time, Then sent Suzie back for happy Hour, I filled the coach with gas and went for Propane to 4 places. the first two were closed already at 5 pm , next one sold out and the other out of business, I give up will come back tomorrow.  Ok we are almost empty but not quite after 25 days boon docking our 100 lb tank is getting low.  So headed home stopped to dump our sewage and picked up the tail end of happy hour here for a bit and a another nice desert sunset. Set up a bit and relaxed for the evening inside. It was a very long tiring day, we are both beat. Will need to take the coach out tomorrow for propane but that is not a big issue for us.
looks like they had a fun Happy Hour
Then we did get a decent sunset to wind up our busy day , makes it all that much better.
A nice way to end up a long day and some more wonderful desert wether to boot. Got our slid issues taken care of, and hope we are goo to go for a while once again.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your winter weather was pretty decent as well.
