Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful relaxing day here.

Where are we today ?
The usual, up early waiting for the sunrise, but we can check emails and drink coffee until that happens. Then begin my walkabouts. Down by the rivers first thing, the sun is rising and showing a wonderful morning sky.
top right you can see the moon at the same time as
the sunrise, too cool !
A little later enjoyed another walkabout along the trails down by the river, so peaceful, birds squawking, squirrels all over the place, cows mooing, babbling brook, nice and warm and no wind. What's not to love about this?
so peaceful
It is Thanksgiving here today and a pretty quiet day. We did the huge meal and get together yesterday at the club house and was wonderful.
So today with sunshine, figured it's a good day to do laundry. Suzie sorts the stuff an I take it to the laundry in the park. Nobody there! Great, but after our wash was done other people show up too thinking the same. Busy day for laundry. Well the machines did the work and I read my book. Two loads all washed and dried the back home in time for a quick bite for lunch.
Now all the chores done, more walkabouts then we can enjoy a very hot day on the sun enjoying our books. Love this weather. We were in full sun (90 f) so shorts and t shirts does it. Couple of people stop by to chat and thats just fine.
Today Suzie would like BBQ'd pork ribs, so I get to fire up our Weber Q again (its been a few days) Wrapped up my ribs in foil with sauerkraut on low for about 90 minutes.
a perfect sunny afternoon
low and slow is the trick
Then throw on taters in foil with onions for another 45 minutes. Last 15 minutes ribs on the grill with our favourite sticky rib sauce. Fall off the bone tender, tasty and sticky, just the way we love our ribs.
done to perfection
taters, ribs, kraut and steamed broccoli
sure hit the spot
Now supper is done and of course we have leftovers, nice for alight lunch.
That was our Thanksgiving Day, and suited us to a T. Friends dropping by for a visit was awesome too.
Thanks for the visit and hope yours was a wonderful day too.

  3. I had to go back and reread your post because I was thinking you had both the big Thanksgiving Day meal and the ribs today. Those ribs sure do look good even if I'm still stuffed with turkey.

  4. Relaxing days are obviously the best. Make the most of them because it won't be long and you'll be on the road again.

  5. Heyy,

Did you include the kraut with the ribs in foil? If so what a great idea!

    1. Oh yes, put kraut, bottom, top and between the two layers of ribs, 1/2 cup water wrap them in foil and slow for 90 minutes on the Q, then15 minutes directly on the grill slap on the sauce and let it caramelize.

  7. And once again, the Early Bird gets...the laundry done. Nice to see I'm not one of very few who do the laundry and put the meals on the table.

    1. Jobs that need to be done and we share. Suzie sorts and folds, I take to the laundry, I cook she does dishes, works great for us.

  8. Happy to hear you are enjoying warmer weather. We are about 60 miles north of Houston, bit of frost in the morning with the days warming up to mid sixties. Much nicer than the snow back home plus we enjoyed our third Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday. Travel Safe, Ron &Sharon
