Madill Oklahoma to Glen Rose Texas a great travelling day.

Where are we today ?
Up early as usual waiting for the sunrise here, and once again did not disappoint us.
Sunrise down by the lake about 6:30 am
then I turn around and the moon is still high in the sky
How cool is that?
Back to camp and the sun is still rising, just love these awesome sunrises here. But eventually we take our time and get ready to hit the road.

On the road by 8:30 am and in no hurry to get there. Enjoying the back roads and missed a turn. No big deal, we can take the "scenic" route today. We have never been lost but do a lot of scenic routes.
Finally hit the I-35 and headed south stopped at a couple rest areas. Saw a "Camping World" on the way and stopped there to browse for a bit, just to see if there was anything we might not need. Not much  but a nice break, then down the road to fuel up and another stop to make for a bite to eat for lunch.
177 miles today
Crossed into Texas, stopped at the visitors centre and picked up some new info on the area where we will be staying for a bit.
Texas here we are!
Shortly after 2 pm we arrived at Tres Rios Rv resort where we plan to hang out for two weeks. Its been a long travel day and we like to take our time. Plus it is another membership park, once again no overnight fees. We kinda enjoy this free camping stuff.
Here we requested and got a nice huge site with afternoon sun. Check it out, awesome!
this whole area is our site
this is our view
Nicely all set up, (satellite dish and full hookups) relax in the sun for a bit, enjoy our books then time to fire up our Weber Q and  "Bake" some fish fillets we picked up the other day. Worked great on our Q with the trivet and foil, 25 minutes and about 3 minutes on the grill all was good.
Now with a fish on a bun sandwich we really need to have some fresh cut fries. So Fry Daddy came into play and did its job here too.
fry Daddy
Whip up some home made tarter sauce, tomato and lettuce really hit the spot, for a quick easy homemade fast food meal. Think it cost about $3.00 total. remember I got stuff on sale.
sure hit the spot
Then a bit of a walkabout, but gets dark too soon. Thats why we get up so early. Its been a while since we have been in this area, but  we will enjoy the nice weather and explore a few things maybe we missed the last time, or explore them again. Nice thing about getting older we can go to places that we may have been to before and visit them all over again.
Hey thanks for stopping by for a peak and hope you had a great day too!

  2. Can you talk about about your membership? The company name, how much it cost, etc. I've been enjoying your blog for sometime now. Hubby and I are considering an RV to begin traveling in when he retires in a year or so.
    Thanks -

  3. I think it's the darkness that sometimes gets to me. But you're right, getting up early does sort of make it better. Sort of.

  6. Okay .... watch the weather. We lived in that area for many years and we never think of it as a winter destination. I remember one Thanksgiving we had snow and loads of ice. However, it sure is a great place to explore though.
