Yep still cold but no worry, it's getting worse tomorrow, should be interesting.

Where are we today ?
Well here we are again, still pretty cool, just above freezing and overcast today, but very little wind so able to get out and about for a few walkabouts. Ya know fresh air, exercise etc.
Kinda just hanging out, read a bit, chat with a few people here and there, compute, emails and stuff, just really enjoying the peace and quiet. No tv, no music kinda really nice.
can you tell we are in Texas?
nice large sites
This morning Suzie was chatting with sister in law back home and its snowing pretty good, sure glad we are not having that here (yet). The picture below she took out their kitchen window, where we camped there just over a month ago. Mind you temperature here is about the same, and we have winter storm warnings for here Sunday and Monday. At least we are not travelling and have nowhere we need to go.
That's back home into Ontario,
 this morning
So for supper today thought I would pull out our slow cooker and do a nice pot roast. Have not used that in a very long time and really not crazy about firing up our lonely Weber Q sitting outside on the picnic table, he will have to wait for a few days yet.
Our Q is waiting for warmer weather just like us
In the slow cooker this morning went the pot roast, potatoes, onions, carrots and garlic. Turn on low and let the aromas drift thru our house all day. That aroma sure is wonderful on a cold day. Kept going outside so we could come back in and enjoy it all over again.
Now with a roast beef we just have to have Yorkshire pudding and to make it simple for the two of us I picked up a few packs to bring south with us, (have not seen this in the stores here in the USA). I can make it from scratch but for the two us this works just great.
we stocked up with a few of these
so light and fluffy
hit the spot today and lotsa leftovers
Well supper done in good time and we are looking forward to free entertainment at the Palace in the resort here. We can just wander on down and check them out. Son's of the Prairie Wind are playing. There was six of them and they were pretty good, not great, but what the heck, was free and right here at the resort. We did enjoy a couple hours out in this huge Texas hall right here in the resort.
A very nice ending to a cool fall day. Now back home, toasty warm and wrap up another day.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit today, should have stayed for supper, we had lots.

  3. Talking about cold weather....we've got -7C and one hell of a storm blowing in from the north-west. Guess the cold is all the way from Florida to California right now. Even the Hot Springs are in the 60ies only.

  4. Just make sure you have all you need to just stay inside and cook and relax and be cozy. No trips to the store over the next few days. Was the ban a dancing type, did you two get up and cut the rug?

    1. We were hoping for a dancing band, but did not happen. Mostly old western type music that told stories and most original songs written by the lead singer. But was decent music anyway.

  5. I got out our crock pot a couple days ago too. However, that time I made a beef stew. I've been thinking about a pot roast. It sure made my mouth water. It's just too cold and nasty to get outside.

  6. We'll be putting the crock pot to use today. It's a wee bit on the cool side out.
Put on the news last night and was a little surprised to see how much snow there was just an hour or so north of here. And a huge pile up on the 400. White-outs, the whole nine yards!
You can look forward to it warming up where you are at least. Here? Not so much. But I'm OK with that.

  8. We're going to have hamburger soup for dinner tonight. It isn't as cold here but it's still soup weather. However, there is nothing like a roast and veggies in the crockpot.

  10. Nice dinner for a cold day. Should have brought some of those Club House Yorkshire mixes back myself. I have a supply of the Poutine gravy mix for my occasional fix. Sure looks like winter is setting in back home when looking at the BBQ picture. Have a great Sunday!
