Reworking our entrance door, and enjoying this warm weather.

Where are we today ?
We having summer weather here. Last night sleeping with windows open and no heater going, yep we can handle that for sure.. Today was pretty nice to but kinda windy (a very warm wind), so thought it a good idea to untie our awning and roll it up for the day, better safe that sorry.
I made a quick trip to town for a few supplies then back home for a light lunch (meat loaf sandwiches, oh soo good!
log cabin motel at the resort
Now such a perfect day out and I want to recheck our entrance door. So now it's hot out (75+ F), shorts t-shirt and can now get busy. Not too sunny but still real nice.
After shimming the door the other day I need to check it out a bit more. Completely remove the door and the top two door pins, added some washers to raise the door, but the bottom hinge is seized. Worked at it for a long time, but to no avail, cannot remove the hinge pin.
So now the door is working better but need to see if we can find some new hinges for this old rig, could be a problem. Suzie and I did manage to get the door re-hung so all is good for the time being. Research needs to be done.
hinges wearing out, had to add 4 washers
With the door rehung, the afternoon is slipping away, but did manage to get our books out to read a few chapters, and enjoy this awesome weather some more. Our neighbor was also playing his guitar and singing a few ballads in his trailer again today, nice soft background noise.
Eventually time to fire up our Weber Q. Tonight we just gonna do a cornish hen, (perfect for the two of us and no leftovers) they are so reasonable here and very tasty. And to that I am making a potato pocket for the Q, with bacon and ranch dressing. For the recipe click HERE. its on my recipe blog.
the cornish hen about 1 hour directly on the grill, low and slow,
(180f internal temp) taters in foil about 30 minutes.
a nice late afternoon sky
some steamed broccoli and fresh tomato=perfect
After supper a short walkabout then we can sit outside for a while on this nice warm evening. Looks like a full moon tonight with an almost clear sky too. Such a beautiful moonlit night.

The week is flying by and we are really enjoying this area.
Wanna thank y'all, for stopping on by for a visit again. Hope you are having sunny, warm days too.

  3. Oh boy. Not getting that door to properly close might have been an issue. "Getting stuck" like that is always in the back of my mind when I tackle projects like that. You'll figure it out. Maybe you'll have to spring for a new door?

    1. The door is fine just the hinges.
It still works but does need to have the hinges repalced.
Problem with new door is the two colors and vinyl stripes need to match up.

  6. Love your picture of the moon! Sounds warmer where you are (northeast of us!). It's in the early 60's F here, but big winds last night - anyway, take-care.
