Where are we today
clic on a pic to enlarge it
After a bit of rain last night was quite mild first thing this morning at 5 am about 49f and a few water puddles around again. Not much sunshine today but no wind, we can enjoy this 68f by 11 am a pretty great way to wind up the 2016. I whipped into Yuma to stock up on a few supplies (it was pretty foggy for a bit) and home by 9 am, nice to get through the stores before they get busy and no traffic.
Foggy Drive this morning
I got a few miles walking around the campground this morning while Suzie and Gerry worked on her windows computer for a bit. After a light lunch more walkabouts and enjoyed some reading out side enjoying this wonderful very warm weather. By 1pm so hot had to open our awning for some shade, now this is another wonderful day, what a way to end the year,
Then at 3 pm we had a Happy hour, loving this weather. Last Happy hour for 2016  we had so many laughs, what a crazy bunch we are here. Rob and Pat are leaving in the morning but we will see them on down the road.
Pat's New Hat, looks wonderful
Of final 2016 Happy Hour
Then home for a bite to eat, Fettuccini Alfredo with some leftover Turkey and a salad, sure hit the spot.
tasty yup !
Now to the Clubhouse for 7pm Karaoke the bunch of us and if we can last will ring in the New Year with Times Square. That will be 10 pm here.
So wishing everyone a Very Happy and Healthy NewYear and hope to be back here right at it again next year.
Thanks for following along in our travels.

Another very warm desert day that we are having. How can we not love this? Got a couple mile walkabout his morning, then at 9:30 we head to the Yuma swap meet. Clic here for the link. A Mexican style market that we also enjoy when in this area. Not to many vendors here yet but we still had a fun time checking them out.
Pat is wanting the guys to check out
 this lady wear stuff
We enjoyed the market and headed on home while the others wandered about for a while. We had our lunch and then I wandered around the desert for a bit while Suzie had a short snooze.
love the desert scenery here
This afternoon Gerry came over to help Suzie with a computer issue  and they apparently almost got things  resolved.Windows registry issues.
computing stuff in windows
in the mean time Tucker played
with my balls
While they did that I cleaned up our Weber Q, read for a while and then it began to rain a bit .Just a drizzle but enough to roll out our awning. No wind so that was alright.
enough rain to make the dust stop
Ok now it was 3 pm time for Happy hour. We do that every day and Gerry came over followed by  Melinda. With our awning out so the light rain did not bother us.
We had a nice social time for an hour and no one else came by. But it was still fun. The temps dropped from 72 f to 58 f as the sun was setting. Pretty well the norm for here at this time of year.
Supper tonight more Turkey and a salad
As supper was done we did get a shot of another desert rainbow, more rainbows than we have ever seen in all our years coming here.
There ya go, warm desert days, some nice sun , a few clouds clouds, a bit of rain but what the heck we loving it.
    Thank for stopping on by.

It was very mild overnight great for sleeping and windows open a bit. At 5:30 this morning was 52f the makings of another perfectly warm/hot desert day. Got a couple walkabouts done and took a load of laundry down about 7:30 this morning, as usual nobody there this early and was done by 9 am.
We had an issue with our power pedestal last night, No big deal we have the inverter anyway, I let them know this morning and Joe was right here to fix the problem, he replaced the plug and breaker, all is good now.
Then time for shorts, sandals, awning down and the sunshade as well.
Tucker stopped by and Suzie got her doggie fix
Because we had this wonderful weather time for a real treat brunch in our Weber Q. Bacon, eggs and homefried potatoes. Done on our Grill mat. The mat sure works wonderful for some applications.
breaks on the grill mat
wonderful !
oh what a treat!
After our brunch I drove to the dunes to see what was going on there. Only 10 miles down the road and has been a while since I stopped by to check out the action. Buttercup Recreational area clic here for info. We have spent some time there with friends we met years ago and had some fun times.
Now home by noon to enjoy this wonderful hot summer day. It was 72F on the north side of our coach in the shade and 82 f on the south side in the shade.
we facing south and need the sunshade
We enjoyed some relaxing time with our e-readers. I finished another book William Bernhart (Strip Search) and began a new one. James Patterson (Against Medical Advice) all these books are the ones we both enjoy reading.
We bought a whole turkey the other day 11 lbs for $7:65 and decided to just cook 1/2 of it. So I chopped it in half then set on our Weber over foil and a small trivet on low and slow Was done in just over 2 hours to perfection.
Just before it was done time Happy Hour and for Clemson to hop on Suzie's lap, another first for Clemson and a another doggie fix for Suzie (2 in one day !)
Clemson on Suzie's lap
We enjoyed this warm afternoon and shared stories of our days' adventures. Good friends of ours arrived here today and stopped by to say hello. Denis and Sandy, have not seen then since last spring in Quartzsite.  So nice to see them again after so many years running into each other in our travels. We will see then while they are here.
Clemson and Bill Payed for a bit
Now our 1/2 Turkey is done to perfection, so I deboned it and whipped up a salad to enjoy with it. Bones in the freezer for soup and the meat for whatever we like.
1/2 of our Turkey, so moist and tender
crispy on the outside
yup was wonderful
Loving this wonderful warm dry weather and will enjoy it while it is here. The forecast tells us we are in for a cold spell, but we don't care, no snow, we have sunshine  and still much better than back home. This time of year does cool, down here for a bit but will warm up in a month or so then get HOT.
Hey thanks for stopping by again, we not doing much other than enjoying no cold or snow and lotsa sunshine. And that's what we here for.

Our friends went to Mexico and had fun we stayed home and had fun.

Where are we today?

What a wonderful day this is going to be. Starting with the temperature here at 5 am close to 50f, perfect for an early morning walkabout. That done then I started boiling the turkey bones I had in the freezer for a tasty soup broth. I let them simmer for a couple hours while I headed into Yuma for a  new pair of shoes and picked up a new Rhino Flex sewer hose at Walmart.
soup is done and tasty usual
Best price I have seen for this hose only $29.97 and it is complete, all the fittings too.. Most places want $35 to $45.  Now ours is 7 years old and would still be good but I managed to crush it a couple years ago so there is a few pin holes.
This a a great sewer hose, sure worth the money
Our friends (3 couples) went to Algodones Mexico, first time for some of them and we did not care to do it all again, 3 times this month already and we knew they would be there for quite a while. So we had a wonderful relaxing day in the warm afternoon sun, enjoying our e-readers, shorts and sandal weather. Gotta love it. Temps got to 70 f and in the sun much warmer.
We are dog sitting and eventually Suzie took Tucker out for a walk and would have taken Clemson out but Bill and Patsy got back before that happened.
Doggie fix for Susie
with Tucker
Shortly after 3 pm our Happy(Social) hour happened at Gerry and Melinda's , they have full afternoon sun, makes it quite comfortable.
Patsy and Bill heading over
Now we had some interesting conversations about all the fun times they had in Algodones. Lotsa laughs about their adventure maybe they will share some of the stories and pictures on their Blogs. Patsy HERE, Bill HERE and Gerry and Melinda HERE. We had a fun time in the warm, sun and quite a few laughs as well.
nice to share their experiences
with them
As happens every day at this time of year, the sun begins to set and it cools down by 4:30 so we head to our homes to whip us up a bite to eat.
The sun is setting while I grilled
a couple Turkey burgers
added to our salad
sure hit the spot
Just another fun desert day here enjoying this wonderful warm weather and sunny blue skies.
Hope y'all had a great day as well and thanks for stopping on by

Sunshine, clear blue skies, not much wind, what more can we ask for?

Where are we today

What another wonderful day here this morning first walkabout at 6:30 was very nice,  about 50f and no wind (much warmer than Quartzsite but we have a much lower elevation here). Mind you the wind picked up when the sun came out but still was a wonderful sunny day.
A quick trip to Yuma for a few food supplies (got a good deal on a Turkey .67 cents a lb will cook some of that later) and home by 9:30. Then we stored  our Christmas decorations for another year.
Lotsa walkabouts today shorts, t-shirt and great weather really gotta love it. On one of my walkabouts noticed this rig at the back. He has it all. Their dune buggy on top of the truck, a car gets stored on the lower level and their huge 5th wheel hooked up with a goose neck hitch. and away they go.
interesting setup
This afternoon we really got to enjoy some wonderful time outside enjoying our e-readers. We are both into books that we just can't put down.
Awning down for some shade from
the blaring sun, It was only 65f
but very hot in the direct sun.
Tucker fix for Suzie
Happy hour today was a Bill and Patsy's they had sunshine, and in the late afternoon is much better than shade at our place.
Always fun to chat for a bit
before we head home for supper
As I was grilling a couple Turkey Garlic sausage to add to our salad and a bit of leftover fettuccine alfredo from the other night caught a bit on an early sunset.
sure setting about 5:15
now this was very tasty
after supper
a bit more sunset over the
Imperial Sand dunes
That was it for another great sunny warm desert day, nothing quite like it and we enjoy this lifestyle so much.
       Thanks for stopping on by.
