Where are we today ?

Well I am not saying it was cold last night but..... got up this morning at about 4:30 as usual and no water? Hmmm water pump is turned on can't hear it running and no water pressure. It was -10c (14F ) and the compartments are heated somewhat from our furnace, but.. I turn the thermostat down to 50 f at night (to conserve our propane and a get a good night's sleep), so I guess not enough heat got down there. a wonderful sunrise this morning, love it ! |
Then picked up a few food stuffs for tonight's supper and 2 more light bulbs. I need the old style incandescent, that are very hard to find now , everything is energy efficient. Yes they use more power because they give off heat and that's what I want. Found them lucky me.
After a light lunch Suzie went to visit her Dad in the Stratford Hospital and hopefully they will let him loose tomorrow. When he gets outta there and is settled, we will go somewhere, not sure where, that remains to be seen, not too far though. While she did that I whipped up the the Wilmot Rec Centre and got a 3 mile boring walk done on the inside track. 36 laps, better than not walking and much warmer.
For supper tonight a home made pizza with our favourite Cauliflower crust click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar of this blog. Used this huge 2 dollar cauliflower I picked up yesterday at the St. Jacob Farmer's market. This was topped with Turkey Pepperoni, Ham, onions, fresh mushrooms, green olives and jalapeno peppers on my half, then topped with tomato slices after it came out of the oven to cool down a bit.
cauliflower crust ready to dress |

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
We brought our water hose in the night before last. It still was frozen even with no water in the line. Where is SPRING!!!
ReplyDeletePizza looks delicious. Hang in there...warm weather should be there one day.
We don't have a water hose her to freeze, just the water in our tanks
DeleteIt will be warmer this week. You guys keep warm too in your house.
That pizza looks delish!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is love it !
DeleteI am definitely gonna make that pizza soon... your photos are tantalizing! Sorry about the weather... at least your hose didn't spring any leaks.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will love it !
DeleteNo plumbing leaks is good.
I keep tabs on the weather in the Detroit area, our son and his family live near there, plus, it will be our first stop in Michigan and looks like it will be getting warmer by the weekend and into the 60's the following week. Hope your area is looking the same and the weather "predictors" are right.
ReplyDeleteHope the freezing rain disappears fast. Personally, I prefer snow any day but seriously it is April it should be rain and sun.
Yes the weather is warming up after today.
DeleteA bit of rain and ;lotsa sunshine would be wonderful right now.
Travel safe.
The heat went away and we ended up with lots of rain today. It was much needed in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteYou should be good for a while now.
DeleteThe rain will help keep the dust down.
I really am going to try this. It looks so good.
ReplyDeleteIt is good we love it, enjoy.
DeleteThis is why I'm still in Texas. Going to Betty's at end of week. Still not sure when I'll get back. Hope to catch up with you this summer.
ReplyDeleteYep don't rush back, Enjoy yourself at Betty's and all the daily Happy hours.
DeleteAnd some amazing cajun food in the area.
Wow! Hope you guys warm up soon, makes me feel a bit guilty...
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty, this is what we do, it is warming up this week though.
DeleteWas only -4C out here last night and is gonna warm through the week. +10C tomorrow but with lots of wind (storm???) and rain. Duh..
ReplyDeleteGot up to 10c here today, feels like a heatwave!
DeleteGeorge, I usually don't git into other peoples business.....BUT, I suggest you do some research into gluten free. If you don't have celiac disease, then gluten free is NOT a healthy choice.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the trip back to Canada, but dad gum it, what's with the white stuff. You know I don't like cold.
I do the gluten free, for some of my relatives and friends. We do get our Gluten with beer and such.
DeleteWe don't like the cold or this white stuff anymore either, that's why we head south every winter, just came home too early for family stuff ya know?
Thanks for your input Billy Bob.
