Where are we today ?

Another good sleep perfect temps until this morning then slowly dropped to about 35f and no sunshine for the rest of the day.
First thing I did after coffees was throw the rest of our chicken in the slow cooker on low. Apparently raw chicken is not allowed into Canada at this time so rather than take the chance of losing it just cooked it all up, cooked chicken is allowed. Can always used cooked chicken, broth and bones for soup etc, etc..
But did get a few walkabouts done and one last trip to the store for a couple last minute items.
After lunch got one load of laundry done, (good for a while now) topped up our fresh water tank, dumped sewer and check out tires and oil.
Love driving around Wapakoneta some very nice old buildings in the downtown area that are still in use.
Newer part of town they have a Drive Thru Beer cave. kinda cool!
Then after a light lunch, down to the pool and spa. Just cause I could, so cold and damp outside was chilled to the bone. This sure brought my body temp back up, even a nice long hot shower, yep its nice here, wish we could stay longer but gotta do what we gotta do.
My antique crock pot still does the trick after 10 years in the restaurant from 1989 to 1999. Still works like new, does not look new but that's ok.
We are smelling this chicken cooking in our slow cooker all day, smells wonderful. So time to eat, whip up a fresh salad, the rest of our asparagus and add the chicken. Was very tasty, fall off the bone as expected. Then package up the rest for future meals.
That's it for a wonderful relaxing day, blog posted and watch a show for a bit on the tube. Then on the road in the morning. Should be a good travel day we hope.Weather forecast not too bad at the moment.
Ready for the last leg of our journey back to Ontario in the morning.
Glad that you stopped by and hope your day was once again as great as ours.

We really enjoy walking around small towns. Wapakoneta Looks just like a small town we would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThe hot tub would feel so good on a cold day! Safe travels.
Wapakoneta is a nice small town you should stop by sometime.
DeleteThe hot tub was perfect.
Just wanted you to know that we tried the easy chicken pot pie recipe you posted. It got rave reviews from the kids and grandkids. Did I say how easy it was? And so good! Thanks, George.

ReplyDeleteThanks guys looks good so far.
DeleteI thought I was looking at the wrong blog when I saw those pics. Buildings, indoor spa! It couldn't be you. A lovely change for you both.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice spot and convenient for us in our travels. Love coming here.
DeleteBe prepared for very frigid weather back here. We got back 4 days ago and it's been bitter cold since. I even had to winterize the rig again, bummer. Still several more days of this poop!!!
ReplyDeleteHave been watching the weather, no winterizing our rig we living in it. Is a bummer but we will get by.
DeleteI'm in Ohio and didn't know where Wapakoneta is.... had to look it up. We're in a real cold spell right now... hope it warms up for you (and us) soon!
ReplyDeleteWe just south of Lima Ohio.
DeleteYep hope it warms up for all of us soon too.
Looks like Mother Nature is playing a cruel joke on you guys with a return to winter and it's about to get even colder. Even predicted to be below freezing here in a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cruel joke that's for sure, we know how to handle it though. Not great but could always be worse.
DeleteHey we buy raw chicken in the US all the time. Not gotten any questions or information about it. Chicken is the one thing which is still a whole lot cheaper in the US.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot cheaper, but I had repackaged it. In original packaging it is ok, depending what state it came from.
DeleteIt seems like you were just heading south for the winter.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does, the 6 months goes by way too fast.
DeleteLooks like your making good time and taking a little time on the side to enjoy what you see. There are so many fun places to visit. Enjoy yourselves.
ReplyDeleteWe would like to a bit more time, but....
