Another Arizona sunny day and sad news.

Where are we today ?
As usual up early today (what else is new), looking for sunrise, but not too exciting today. Got a phone call at 5:30am from Suzie's Dad that her Gramma had passed away at 2:30 this morning in her sleep. She had not been doing too well last night. Gramma was in her 99th year.
After this sad but not unexpected news Suzie was online most of the day checking out our options and me trying to help between a few walkabouts and waiting for phone calls.
No great sunrise today so photos available but did catch it shining on the peak behind us.
early morning
later in the day
Walk about the resort looking at all the park models they are setting up and selling here some good deals to be had. Love the yearly rate $2,400.00 rent for 12 months.
Right beside our coach is a well endowed black olive tree too bad we can't eat them. There is a major process to make them edible. Thought they were small grapes at first.

In between emails, phone calls, research and walkabouts, chatting with a few friends we know here and have not seen for a few  years,  the day just slipped on by.
afternoon sunset across I-10
Then eventually I whipped up some leftover roast pork, had a hot pork sandwich, gravy, mashed taters and broccoli really much more satisfying than the grilled cheese we had last night.
hit the spot tonight
Well we are upright and breathing and had a not too bad a day considering. Hope you enjoyed some nice sunny warm weather.
Thanks for stopping by and checking us out.

  2. Kathy and I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the both of you and Suzie's family over the loss of her Grandmother. I'm remembering the challenges she faced this past summer and seemed to have bounced back from it.

    It's about time.

  3. So sorry for Suzie but as you say, it was not unexpected. Having a 99 year old grandmother does speak well for her genes however. There is some longevity there!

I will never forget the time I picked an olive off a tree and tried to eat it!

  6. It is so sad to have our beloved "olders" pass away, no matter how old they are or their health condition. It is like a link is broken in the family chain. Our best goes to both of you.

  8. It's so sad to lose a loved one and especially when we're close to that person. We're so sorry for your loss. However, the memories of the time spent together will never go away.

There are some great annual rates in Arizona at some great parks. You can find that rate all over the Phoenix area, Yuma and just about every place else that snowbirders get together. The problem is we haven't found a place yet we'd like to spend all winter. Maybe one day we'll find it and maybe not.
