Where are we today ?
This morning we checked many emails and condolences for Suzie's Gramma both on our Blog and facebook, would like to thank all who commented and sent their prayers.By 9 am we are all secured and said good bye to our friends here at Picacho Peak and headed west to southern California.
A great driving day and only a few sprinkles of rain.
not too much traffic and good roads |
Actually stopped at a rest area so the road noise would make it much easier for the chat.
On Google + Hangout |
We just kept up the pace slowly making our way to our destination.
more colorful overpasses |
208 miles today |
Got checked in and all setup on a huge site, no sites behind us either, afternoon sunshine perfect!
as the sun began to set fire up our Weber Q |
couple of cinnamon apple sausage and a can of baked beans |
a little sauerkraut sure hit the spot |
then a nice sunset in the Imperial sand Dunes to the west of us |
Today we are dealing with Grammas passing yesterday, and Suzie's father's 81st birthday yesterday as well, not a great birthday present, but at least he is healthy and doing fine.
Gramma |
And today I am also remembering my father passing Dec. 20th 1996. We all have such great memories and miss them at this time of year.
Small pic is me dad and my sister |
Thanks for stopping by for a visit and hope ya'll had a great sunny warm day. If not stay cuddled up and out of the cold weather.

We will be arriving in that area (Pilot Knob) about the 7th of January. But we will be boondocking outside the RV park. We just may overlap our time there.
ReplyDeleteNever know for sure, after here we plan on heading to Hot Springs BLM near Holtville, but ya never know for sure.
DeleteGlad to see you had a good travel day nice pic's. Have to agree that I am loving Google+ for staying in contact with my Canadian family, and Rick was a great tutor or I still might not of used it. We are leaving her December 25th for a couple of weeks so going to check ROD if Pilot Knob has a vacancy for a couple of nights maybe we can finely meet? Nice picture of Grandma, and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the pic's of you your Dad and sister.
DeleteAllen that would be awesome, let us know where you will be. Travel safe.
DeleteSo sorry for Suzie's (and your) loss of her Gramma. This can be a very difficult time of year as we remember our loved ones. Though I do think that they would all be pleased to see us living our lives to the fullest while we can. Love and Hugs to both of you.
ReplyDeleteSharon & Ron
Thanks os much guys.
DeleteWe've stayed at Pilot Knob many times. We're "thinking" we may head that direction after the holidays but who knows where we'll really end up. We've visited the Hot Springs several time. I sure do like their hot water tubs.
ReplyDeleteSo many option down here and places to see. Have fun and of course we heading to the Q.
DeleteWe'll be at La Posa South about the 14th! We have to finally meet!
DeleteI think we be at La Posa West Jan 13th is the plan , meeting you guys would be awesome!
DeleteI am so sorry to hear about Suzie' s grandma. Thoughts and prayers are with you!
ReplyDeleteThat's some nice spot you have there. ...nice and roomy!
Thank you so much.
DeleteIt is a huge site.
What a nice picture of Suzie's grandma. It is nice to have those memories. Happy Birthday to Suzie's dad, I know what it is like to have a birthday a day after someone close has passed away. Kevin's dad passed away a day before my birthday in 2010. We are thinking of you both and your families.

Thanks Ruth for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Dec. will always be a month for special memories.
ReplyDeletePilot Knob is our favorite Yuma area RV Park. You lucked out on a great site.
Yes we got a great site, love the area.
DeletePlease accept my belated condolences to both Suzie and you on the loss of her Gramma - that sure was a great picture of her. It's an especially tough time of year to lose anyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout-out but all of you guys are quick learners and didn't need much help from me.
Pilot Knob? You're almost within hollerin' distance now!!
Thanks Rick
DeleteYes we are plan on heading out that way in the New Year, if all goes well.
Gotta meet up with you guys.
Also accept my late condolences. It's not a fun time of the year to lose loved ones. My dad died on Christmas morning many years ago and my mom followed a few years later on Thanksgiving. I'll have good thoughts for Suzie's grandmother.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary-Pat it can be a tough time but we do have great memories.
DeleteWOW...nice looking site. Nice and big and roomy.
ReplyDeleteWe remember all those saints that have gone on before us. God Bless them all.
We sure do and have great memories.
DeleteIt is wonderful to hear of your daily adventures, no matter what they entail. You are so blessed to be missing this freezing rain, snow and temps of Ontario. We opened up our 5th wheel last night to show our friend who was over for dinner and it just brings the desire to take it all south that much closer! This site is free with membership? We can't wait to connect with you when you are back in Ontario but I'm not rushing it, don't worry! ha ha
ReplyDeleteFree as in no overnight fees, for us. We love using this membership. Soon head on south, much too cold there.
