Where are we today ?
Well here it is Christmas morning and all is well. Lets bring Joy to the world.
Last night after yesterdays posting. There was Christmas Carol singing meeting at the clubhouse as they walked the turkey to the burial. Which just happened to be on Rob and Pat's site right next to us. So we got to catch this tradition with all the carollers and a few music instruments, as they buried the 4 turkeys and two hams in the 45 gallon drum that had a nice bed of hot coals on the bottom.

ready to proceed waiting for all the carollers |

throw in the meat wrapped in foils and wet burlap bags |
|
cover the drum and pile the sand over top |
This morning we up early and Santa had been here, chocolates and peanuts and our good health was here for us this morning. Perfect.
Then our morning coffees, walkabouts the resort wishing people Merry Christmas, then we made phone calls and video calls (to those who were able on Facetime) to the family that we could reach, parents, children and grands, was a perfect Christmas morning.
Then 11 am the staff and volunteers returned to uncover the cooked meat for our Christmas dinner at 2 pm today.

Shortly afternoon John and Barb returned to toast Christmas day with a glass of Champagne, then we headed to the clubhouse for Christmas dinner at 2 o'clock.
|
Merry Christmas! |

And I will tell you it was so tasty all homemade, turkey and ham so tasty, real mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, corn , peas, broccoli, artichokes, fresh cranberry with orange, excellent gravy and fresh baked buns.
|
oh so good |
|
then the deserts, lots of choices, I choose cherry cheesecake |
We chatted for a while them waddled back home. To relax in the sun and read for a while after a perfect Christmas day. Good food, good friends and a sunny warm day.
Hope you had a good one too, thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Looks like a very blessed day with good friends.
ReplyDeleteWe had a fantastic day. We are both very lucky people!
Yes we are so very lucky, living our dream.
DeleteWe're still waddling around here. Looks like a good time was had by all. We fed 22. (I think) Lost count. Now we just have to deal with all those leftovers.
DeleteLeftovers make god eating for us, can always make a tasty soup!
DeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThanks, same to you.
DeleteI like that "waddled back home" . I know the feeling...ate way to much today too. So glad you had a nice day. You and Suzie look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, good thing we only eat like this a few times a year.
DeleteI don't think I can even waddle yet and dinner was several hours ago. I bet your hams and turkeys were really good after being cooked in the pit. We had a really nice Christmas. Glad you did also.
ReplyDeleteThe meat from the pit was so moist tender and tasty. We starve for 24 hours should feel better.
DeleteSounds like you had a Merry Christmas along with a great meal and a bunch of friends.

DeleteMerry Christmas George and Suzie from a couple of followers you've not yet met. Christmas Day here was snowy and cold, but family gatherings brought us the needed warmth right now. :)

DeleteWhat a great meal! And such a different way to cook it.
ReplyDeleteSo tasty too!
DeleteIt's interesting how that turkey and ham cook while buried in the sand. Those guys obviously have the formula worked out. It sure looked good anyway!
ReplyDeleteIt was very tasty.
DeleteWe've participated in pit style pig roasts but that buried drum is kind of unique. The food looked great. To have 'waddled' home is a sign that the food was oh, so, good.
ReplyDeleteThe food is good and the company great, and we all have an awesome time.
DeleteThat was nice of you to give your Weber grill the day off for the Christmas holiday! ;c)
