Great weather and a fun visit to Tombstone.

Where are we today ?
Now how can anyone not love this weather?  Well maybe some people, but we really enjoy this sunshine, not humid, very little wind, fresh air, no bugs, plus no cities and no traffic. Warm sunny days and cool nights great for sleeping.
Just the standard early morning stuff,  walkabouts etc. Then head down into town to the Quick Lube place we have been going to every year when passing through. Oil and filter on the car and a free carwash, work for me same friendly people there!
Stopped by Cates and Hill Rv parts and checked with Betty. She is working on trying to locate new hinges for the door on our coach. And doing an awesome job of research for us too.
Our campsite so sunny and warm lotsa room, love it.

We thought with the nice sunny day we take a quick trip to Tombstone. Yep its a tourist trap but we do enjoy walking along the boardwalks and watching the people walkabout in the costumes of the old west, gunshots here and there stage coaches, saloons etc...
Have two reasons to go, number one Barb was looking for something to wear to a casual wedding (she found it too very reasonable). Reason number two was to stop into Big Nose Kate's Saloon for some more atmosphere and enjoy their amazing overstuffed rueben sandwiches that we have enjoyed a few times in the past.
Being a week day nice and quiet no crowds and a beautiful day.
John, Suzie and Barb
love the costumes
we people watching while Barb shops
want boots? good selection here
John models a nice Stetson
Taxi anyone ?
Now like I said before, the plan was Big Nose Kate's Saloon for some fun and a Rueben right?
They closed!!!! Minor renovations open on Friday, boy were we disappointed.
Big Nose Kates, closed today
Well we checked a few other places for a Rueben, but no luck. Tried the Crystal Palace, but after 15 minutes no body bothered to come to our table.  No problem the Longhorn right across the street excellent service and food there. Ok we gonna have a bite anyway. The Longhorn ended up being our choice. I had the Longhorn Burger (Angus Beef) and Suzie a hot beef sandwich. Both were pretty good, hit the spot, but not the Rueben.....sniff, sniff.....
tasty hot beef
yummy burger
After lunch walked the street more just enjoying the beautiful day and quiet streets.
like the Harley with gun holsters ?
John has to practice his handgun, excellent shot
Wine bottle holder anyone?
Well we got done what we wanted (almost) Barb got her outfit, we had a nice lunch , enjoyed all the cowboys and shady ladies roaming the streets, stage coach viewing hardly spent any money then had to stop at Boot Hill Graveyard just to view some of the funny sayings on the headstones. That was free too. Not too authentic but still fun.
Ok had a fun day there and now back home, they can let the dogs out and Suzie gets her doggie fix, while we enjoy the balance of the afternoon with a nice Happy hour.
Suzie, Piper and Hank, lick you to death
Soon we have a wonderful sunset, and time to head inside
That was another fun day hanging out with our friends and enjoying a nice sunny day.
Hope you and a great day too wherever you are, remember no matter what it could always be worse.
Thanks for stopping on by for a visit and read this sign below, says it all!

  9. My first time in Tombstone was 56 years ago... I think it looks the same now as it did then. Oh yeah.... love the "Les Moore" one the most... even have a smashed penny with that epitaph. I'd go back tomorrow for that rueben if I were you ;-)

  15. Lots of fun in Tombstone. I especially like the gun carrier on the motorcycle and the costumes. Interesting that the Reuben there is so good. Must have been introduced by someone who's represented on one of those tombstones!
