Saturday fun in Benson, we do love it here.

Where are we today ?
Just another great day here in Benson AZ. Cold last night 25 f (good for sleeping) and day time temps close to 70f with more beautiful cloudless blue skies, sunshine makes it feel so much warmer! Yep, we really love it here. Oh and we do get used to the trains coming through town, kinda feels like home.
Early this morning into the Ace hardware and Safeway for a few things then back home for a few more walkabouts.
you know you are in Arizona when there is horse trailers
in the parking lot
Back home for a lite for lunch and chat with a neighbor  (young single lady) travelling full time in her jeep, kayak on top towing a cute new retro trailer, loving her new lifestyle.
Then we headed downtown to check out the Christmas fair. A wonderful small town function with crafts, food live band and kiddie rides. Now that is our speed. Lotsa people but no large criwds.
Santa was here for the kids, me too ,
could not sit on her knee.
this young lady was dancing her heart out,
did a great job too
It was fun wandering about on a wonderful sunny day here. Chat with people and we did not buy anything either, sorry vendors.
nice rustic furniture too
Mr. and Mrs, Claus chatting with our dancer
A few kiddie rides and games, nice small town stuff.

Replace your detectors

Most of you reading this blog are Rv'ers. Did you know that your propane and carbon monoxide alarms (detectors) need to be replaced every 5 years? We did ours 5 1/2 years ago and are overdue to be replaced again. Actually June 2013. They are not cheap, about $160.00 for the two but that is a small price to pay to protect out lives. So into Cates and Hill the other day Betty ordered ours in and with the discount she gave us right about the same prices we could have got them for at Camping World on sale. Rather give her the business in a small town, she is so helpful.
Have our new detectors , will install tomorrow
Now all that done home to relax with our books for a bit, under the beautiful Arizona blue skies.
this is our view when enjoying our books.
Now time for me to do more of what I enjoy, cooking supper on our Weber Q 100. Tonight a couple huge chicken legs and thighs, potatoes and zucchini on the Q.
smells awesome !
All done, time to enjoy, add a tomato slice and a couple crescent rolls really hit the spot . Too much food, left overs for lunch again!
hit the spot
Wanna thank ya'll for stopping by to enjoy Arizona with us, lovin it here.
Hope you have a great Sunday too.

  1. We stopped for lunch the other day at a place on the outskirts of AJ. Three cowgirls rode up, tied up their horses and came into for a beer and some lunch. You just gotta love it. The one problem with this area is the huge crowds that show up at all the fun functions. And I really don't like crowds.

  2. My kind of weather too, love those cool nights and nice sunny days. Looked like a nice Christmas fair don't much care for big crowds anymore either much prefer the smaller towns. Another nice dinner on the Q, will have to try grilling my veggies like you I always end up cooking them in foil with butter and seasoning. Yours look so good with the grill marks. Have a great Sunday. Enjoyed today's pics.

    2. For the veggies I just slice them up put in a plastic bag, add a bit of olive oil and spices, shake em up then grill until done. A nice change.

  3. Good reminder on the alarms George. Sometimes it is hard to remember when they were replaced so if in doubt, buy new ones. I just looked back in Quicken and see I bought mine in 2011 so I have another couple of years.

It looks like a fun day in Benson.

    1. After 5 years they may start beeping telling you its time, they are not defective just telling you its time. If you remove them the manufacture date is on the back.

  6. I want to thank you for the propane detector reminder too, George. I think we may be due for a new one next year - or is it the year after, I'll have to check. Can't believe our 'new 5'er' will be almost 5 years old next year.

  9. We've never changed our detectors (coach is a 2006). Told Denis about your reminder. He thought as long as the light is green that they are in proper working order.... is that not the case? Thanks for the info.
