BBQ'd Chicken on a Weber grill
We both love Chicken and especially done on our Weber Q-100 grill. The beauty of this grill is the way it is designed to cook with no flare ups. A simple procedure to cook a 3 to 4lb chicken.
First I fire up the Weber on Hi to preheat 10 to 15 minutes, it need to be real hot.
While waiting for the grill to preheat prepare your chicken.
Start with a a fresh or thawed out chicken, and I trim any excess fat and remove giblets, rinse with cold water and pat dry.
Then a light coating of oil all over, I use Olive Oil Pam spray.
Season with I sprinkle with Montreal chicken spice or whatever you like.
After 10 minutes or so the grill is now smokin' hot, turn it down to medium low and set chicken breast side up directly on the grill, I also add foil wrapped potatoes at this time too. Close the lid.
In about 60 to 70 minutes the chicken will be ready, try not to open the lid this will increase cooking time. Do not turn the chicken either. Check with an instant read meat thermometer without touching the bone for internal temperature of 180f.
Now you have perfectly roasted chicken, potatoes are done too, just like a rotisserie one, crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside.
Let rest for a couple minutes then I just chop it into quarters. Enjoy !
You can also do chicken pieces the same way, only a little less cook time.

We love our little Weber too. It's the perfect size and does a great job.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does an amazing job.
DeleteBest barbecue ever... and I've had a few. I can't get over just how little propane it uses. For whole chicken I use a skillet from Ikea (minus its handle) that I find makes things a whole lot easier to clean up. BTW, Nice Rig, Eh!
ReplyDeleteAn excellent grill for sure, no skillet for me this Weber cleans itself, just dump the disposble grease tray under. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteWe Googled for a recipe for chicken o the grill, found yours, used it, and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, love our chicken like that!
