Where are we today ?

As most of you know the Government shut down is over for now and everything here is back up a running so no issues here at the moment..Another cool morning but we cozy here and the sun is warming things up very nicely. Did not get our for my early walk, sorry not happening when it is about 36 F (2C) at sunrise. But I did take a drive to Blythe California for a few grocery supplies and home just after 10 am, Got some good deals at Smart and Final then a couple of items from Albertson's across the street.
We enjoyed a nice light lunch as usual and I whipped into town to stop at Discount Solar , picked up 6 LED bulbs for our main living area, only $5.20 each and nice and bright plus all these bulbs use less battery power than than just one of these older bulbs use. Good deal , our first LED bulbs cost us $22.00 back in 2007 so these are now much more affordable for the last few years.

Then I removed our tow bar and bike rack so that I can take the tow bar into the Road Master truck to be checked out and serviced in the morning.
Now to relax in the warming sun and enjoy our e-readers until time for Happy Hour at 3 PM. At Tom and Debs today, and a bonus we had fellow bloggers Ken and Shirley join us from Seeing America with Ken and Shirley. We have been following each others blogs for quite a while and met them here 2 years ago, so its been a while. Nice to see them again in person.

Time flies when we having fun and before we know it cooling down a bit and almost 5 o'clock so time for us all to head home and whip up our suppers. Tonight I am grilling a couple of boneless , skinless chicken thighs on our grill mat to go with our salad,

Where have we been this winter ?
Was a tad cool this morning, but what a beautiful afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI will be looking for LED bulbs too. I have some, but can't afford to replace all at once so each year I buy a few more.
With all the bloggers in town, we should have some turnout at the Bloggerfest. I was using Google Maps to see how far it was from Yuma to Quartzsite and they had Bloggerfest location shown on the map. It's famous!
It was cool Doug and the same this morning too. That is what we have replaced ourLED bulbs too, just a few every year, the ones we use the most.. There should be a good turnout but o know not all bloggers in the area will attend..

Is Bloggerfest the appropriate venue where the Open Live Writer error 500 to be brought up? George, I know you use Blogger Editor, but that does not work offline - so is not acceptable for many of us.

DeleteI use Blog editor, once I have it open on line I can go off line, and type my Blog. Go on line upload photos, then back off line to edit the blog and re arrange . it the way I like, then just go back online to preview and post it. I can work on the blog all day long off line.

We enjoy Happy Hour when we are with friends if nobody around we have our own Happy hour before getting ready for supper.
DeleteGot a couple bulbs there last year for a good price and we do like the brighter lights. Oh yeah dinner was tasty.
GREAT deal on the LED's. The last one I saw in Indio was $15 each ... I passed.

ReplyDeleteYes Paula it was Discount Solar but don't think they are open on the weekend, good bulbs for a good price.
DeleteI'm relatively local, and retired. I'll get there sometime...
DeleteWe got LED bulbs in the fall and installed them, they are great. We can have them all on at once if we wanted and they still use less energy than just one of the regular ones. We got a package of 20 of them or so and it worked out to be about a $1 a piece, now that is a deal!
ReplyDeleteWe are having nice warm weather at the moment but unfortunately it is super windy and it's raining not the best weather when you are sitting by the ocean. :-(
