Exploring more vendors, running into friends, and another wonderful desert day

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Waking up to another day in paradise .  Got the coffee and computing out of the way and as the sun was rising I whipped into town, bet most of the traffic and crowds, to fuel up the car  at the Pilot $2.28 a gallon with our Good Sam Card. Then stopped at the Dollar General to add $100. to our Verizon Jet pack wifi so it is there when we need it.
how is this for bringing your toys along,
a boat in the desert?
Back home by 8:30 and we puttered around for a bit and when Suzie was ready at 9:20 we headed back into town to check out the vendors on Kuehn St both sides east and west plus all the new vendors in Tyson Wells. A lot less vendors this year on the east end of Kuehn St and Rice Ranch. Before the Tent opens tomorrow for a week.
had to stop and say hi to this lady, she looks lonely
Got parked at the back of Tyson wells and began walking and checking out vendors, Everyone was open and no crowds yet.
nice to browse without the crowds
tomorrow will be a different story
love this vendor
the food guys are beginning to cook
inviting smells to make you hungry,
just like I did in my restaurant
lots of hat vendors here too
need rocks?
this does not look too comfortable
more rocks and gems
Then the east side of Kuehn St just because we could.
need stuff?
Gambler Rv lots of used parts for rv's
not too busy yet
need chairs?  Cheaper in Yuma
this guys are back again, very expensive

Shade pro lots of deals

nice resting place
Then spotted a couple on very nice Model T Fords Bill can conform this for me I am sure.
Lots more vendors , not much different than other years.
want cactus/ they have them
ok we had enough, 11:am getting busy time too head back to home dirt.
As we made our way out of the parking lot onto Kuehn st, in the traffic. A car  heading the other way heard a loud tapping on his window! What the heck! Our Good friends Jim and Sharon from Alberta  Canada. We pulled over as they did and Sharon ran over to say Hi. Asked where we are an said maybe see ya later.
Back home again I finished off our pot of chicken noodle soup for lunch,. Very tasty as usual.
yummy home made soup
After lunch we puttered around for a bit, nice walkabout then we had company. Jim and Sharon found us and joined us for Happy Hour, Patsy and Bill came over (met them before) and then Tom and Deb came over as well. After all it was 3 pm that time of day!
we having too much fun just flapping our gums
and having a few laughs
Jim on our stairs trying to use his phone for pictures
our neighbour flying his kites again
Happy hour winding down and time to whip up supper. Tonight some Salmon fillets on our Weber Q.
salmon and a grilled lemon
Added to our salad sure did the trick
Then we got to enjoy another wonderful desert sunset.
There ya go we had a fun  day enjoying this weather and meeting up with more friends here in the southwest. Had a tasty supper and a great sunset, what better way to enjoy our retirement!

  2. 1920 Model T touring and 1926 Model T Tudor. Notice the original headlight lenses on the Tudor which have turned purple due to the manganese in the glass. The radiator shell on the touring would have originally been painted black steel.

  3. Looks like a giant flee market - a place my ladies would enjoy and I avoid like the plague :-)

  4. I just love all the vendors ... and those sausages with onions are awesome! Unfortunately, there is rarely anything "cheap". Money is the name of the game!!

  6. Well, the Colorado River isn't too far for that RV to pull the boat. Looks like lots of vendors for us to check out. That's the plan for Sunday!

    1. These markets are fun to browse the markets here, lots to see and eat. I have learned to resist most of these foods, guess I am too cheap I can make it at home for a fraction of the price.

  8. I tried to 'creative' park yesterday and got stuck in the soft sand. I dug myself part way out and nice folks helped push me the rest of the way. I will stay in gravel over at the big tent parking from now on. I think I'll wait until the day of Bloggerfest to go back to the tent itself as that is the last day of the tent and the crowd is down a lot.
