Last day here. relaxing and just puttering around before we hit the road in the morning, further west.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another very mild night  windows open for sleeping Temps in the mid 50's F at 5am loving it. Shorts on first thing beginning with my first walkabout at 7:30. perfect. 78F (25C) at noon and still warming up. Yup this is the place to be alright. First thing I saw was the moon setting outside our patio.
the moon was just peaking behind some clouds when I caught it
Then a few minutes later I was at the east of the park looking over the desert and caught the sun peaking over the mountains (Pilot Knob I call it) beginning to really warm up our day.
usually get a nice sunrise here and this did not disappoint
Did a quick trip to town for a few supplies and the bank machine for a bit more cash. Then back home for a tasty light lunch. Getting pretty warm now so our awning was deployed.
The security man Rod was checking out the sites as he does every morning making use of his toy. A 1930 Ford Pickup (his everyday driver) still all original that he restored some 35 years ago.  Really love his ride!

Puttered around for a bit, check our tire pressure and oil in our vehicles, dumped our sewage and topped up our fresh water tank, Between enjoying this amazing warm weather, a few walkabouts and enjoying our e-readers in the shade. Temps got to 85F under our awning but with a nice north breeze and no humanity humidity it was very comfortable.
we do enjoy it here, but time to move on
clear blue sunny skies . perfect
Happy hour just the 2 of us, but that is hat we are used to. Soon time to whip us supper, so grilled a couple of large chicken drum sticks on our grill mat to go with our salad.
done to perfection on the grill mat
and no mess on the grill
added to our salad was very tasty
Then as this was finishing up I managed to catch another colorful desert sunset. Our last one here at this location.
another great way to wind up this relaxing day
I  was asked by Jeff Pierce about the recipe for my Breakfast potatoes (home fries I call them) so easy to do so I posted on my recipe blog, You can click HERE or recipe blog top right sidebar.
Want to thank y'all for joining us here at Pilot Knob resort, but we are ready to get on the road in the morning, time for new places and new faces. Not far but we really just had to scratch that hitch itch again. Hope you had a pretty decent day as well.
Again still outside in shorts finishing up this posting and 64f (17C) what's not to love about this weather?

  6. 85F is a little too warm for me but I'd love mid-50's right now - not sure when we'll see it again.

  11. Good morning...ah hmmm...we desert rats who live year around in southwest consider 64 degrees a tad too cold. If it's below 70, we turn the heat on :-)
