Yup it was cooler last night, really good for sleeping 34f (1C) at 4:30 the morning. Inside 46F (7C) so I fired up our blue flame and in no time a comfortable 72F. Love this new heater. At 7:30 I took a drive down by the dump station and there was 17 rv's in line for sewage dump station. A pickup parked in front of the garbage with a flashing yellow light on his cab. Hmmm.
Then again about 9:30 I cruised back down and still a long line up but the garbage disposal company was there emptying the dumpsters and 2 front end loaders standing by. There was a few volunteers (it looks like) taking the trash off the ground and into a dumpster as it was emptied. Getting that mess cleaned up for now.
what a mess |
they are cleaning it up |
the supervisor here |
Then at 12 noon got a very nice phone call from our good friends back home Rob and Pat just checking up on us and we got to chat for a while, always nice to hear from them.
Tom and Deb bought themselves a new sunscreen that is easy to use with there electric awning, and the top part just rolls right up with it. Bill came over to help Tom and in no time it was installed, looks awesome and works like a charm.
in no time it was all done, wonderful |
when we headed out ar 1 the dumpsters were all cleaned up |
This after noon the 6 of us went to the Senior Centre to see have Paul Winer (Sweet Pie) entertain use. You can read about him HERE also know as the Naked Book seller In Quartzite Arizona The Oasis Book Store.
this is the entertainer we were hoping to see |
this be him at the store |
We showed up for the show and it was cancelled , he has the flu! But his back up band of many years was here. Apologized for Paul and told us we can get a complete refund for our tickets at his bookstore. But these guys have travelled many hundreds of miles here to play and they said the show must go on! We were invited to watch them play at no charge and if we liked the show could make a donation of a dollar or 2 if we like. Well we did stay for an hour end enjoyed their music that was pretty good, but me (the deaf guy) had a problem hearing his words.
We saw Paul's show 2 years ago and really enjoy it then if you like you can read about it HERE
most people left but we stayed for an hour |
these guys are pretty good but miss Paul |
Always nice to see them again and meet Pam. They joined us for Happy hour.
LR: Suzie, Jean, Patsy, Bill, Pam, Skip. Tom and Deb |
then Clemson wanting attention |
not long on our Weber Q |
oh so tasty really hit the spot |
Just as it was done on the Q we enjoyed a nice sunset. |
This was just another fun desert day, not exactly what we planned but heck it was still fun and I think we all enjoyed it. The garbage got cleared up , the sunshine, warm weather, less wind, friends visit and some free entertainment as well.
Thanks for stopping on by always nice to hear from you in a comment of just reading along with us is fine as well.

Where have we been this winter ?
Glad to see the sanitation mess has been taken care of, it looked pretty gross! We've had the opportunity to hear some of Paul's version of boogie-woogie, as you know it can be a fun show. Have you been to Celia's Garden? A nice tribute from a close knit community.
ReplyDeleteHe does a really great show entertaining and his upbeat boogie-woogie, actually quite a character.. We have been to Celia's Garden a couple of times over the years, I plan to stop by at some point before we leave the area again.
DeleteHope ll the services are back to normal by tomorrow. Getting the garbage taken care is important from a varmint control perspective.
ReplyDeleteShrimp burger? Hmmm, sounds great!
Things are coming together, guess we will see how it goes.
DeleteThe shrimp burger excellent !
It was somewhat of a disappointment that Paul Winer had to cancel his show but it was still a pleasant afternoon though a little cool in the building.
ReplyDeleteTom and I appreciated both your and Bill's help getting the sunshade on. We are lucky to be parked by such good neighbors.
We enjoyed meeting your friends at Happy Hour.
It was disappointing that Paul was not there, and it was quite chilly in there. Glad that you have your sunshade installed, I am sure you will love it. Glad you met Jean and Skip they are super people and meeting his sister pPam was a bonus as well.
DeleteA good day all around even with the cancelled show. The flu happens.
ReplyDeleteGlad they got the dumpsters cleaned up, and it sounds as if they didn't shut down the rest of the services either.
Happy Hour always looks fun.
So far things are coming around, the cancelled show was disappointing , but the rest of the day was excellent.
DeleteYes Happy Hour tis always fun never know whats going to evolve.
Just a hi from a regular reader. We appreciate the "local colour" in your blog, as we hope (!) to be heading southwest from Ontario real soon now.
ReplyDeleteGord.
Thanks for your comment Gord. hope you can head out west. We always fun here in the southwest. Soon we be back on the road again.
DeleteI've see Paul in person a couple of times. Never knew he did a show of ANY kind other than at the bookstore. Glad they got the garbage cleaned up ... that could get really bad!!
ReplyDeletePaul does an amazing show. thats how he started out on the 70's as Sweet Pie playing mostly the east coast naked. He settled here when his daughter Celia was born. Nice that the garbage is cleaned up now.
DeleteWe took a little drive after we got here yesterday afternoon..saw the dumpsters all cleaned up and there were 2 dumping and 2 waiting..not bad at all even though at the front gate it says that all services were cancelled. Glad that's not true. We did find your camp but it was a little early for Happy Hour and y'all were out. Your dinner looks awesome once again. Love the picture of Clemson trying to decided whose lap he wants on..cute..Can't believe with all the rv's that there is still so much room left. We're on the main drag..actually in the same spot as last year. We'll see you guys soon!
ReplyDeleteThere is always so much room here, you just need to got look for it. Hey that's great that you found us we did not get back until about 3:30 yesterday but should be here all day today. Clemson is a character . Hope you guys stop by for Happy hour we should all be here.
DeleteIt was another great day in paradise. So happy the dumpsters got cleaned up, it looks terrible and they fill up so fast!
ReplyDeleteWe'll see Paul another time for sure, we still had fun.
Nice to see Skip, Jean and Pam at Happy hour. Too bad we missed Ken and Shirley....hope they look us up today!
It sure was a great day like most everyone here. Too bad Paul was not well, hope to see him again another time. Yes it was nice to see our friends again and meet Pam as well.
DeleteHow many shrimp does it take to make a burger? Never heard of one before. Have to track some down and try them!
ReplyDeleteNot sure they are remade and are a nice treat that we enjoy.
DeleteNice relaxing day for everyone it looks. Too bad the main act is sick. At least there was a band. Looks like cool nights and nice days ahead.
ReplyDeleteYes Doug it was too bad, we have seen him before and hope to see him play again.
