Up early and caught nice red sky before we headed into Rv Lifestyles in Quartzite. To have our new Blue Flame heater installed. Ya hoo! We have had our Mr Heater for 10 years and loved it but always said when the time comes we will get this Blue Flame heater. We love these no noise, no electricity and just sips the propane. 99.9% efficient, whats not to love?
Well last week the time came our Mr heater was having issues I took it apart a couple of times and got it to work again but not perfect. So it was time to put him to sleep. It served us well for over 10 years and was only $75.00 then so really did not owe us anything especially all the propane we saved. After telling so many people about this Blue flame heater over the years they had them installed and love them. So last Friday in the Hot Springs I phoned them. Yes they had the heater we wanted in stock and could install it on Monday, Yippeee, go for it. So instead of going to Imperial Dam LTVA for a few days we came right into Q so we could be here first thing this morning for 8 am.
Got there for 8 am and discussed with Mike where we wanted it installed. He said no problem. So we wandered about the store, enjoyed a free coffee and nibbled on fresh free popcorn. And just after 10:30 the install was all done, so neat and professional. Gave us a demo, and showed me where  and how it was installed. A pretty good deal in our minds $209.00 for the heater and  $125.00 to install plus a a few parts, connectors and a hose. And wow this is nice heats the room quickly and a has a thermostat so that it will maintain whatever heat we want. and The blue flame yahoo again, and doubles as a gas fireplace as well ! Also being on the hose we can put it in the bathroom for when we have a shower, sure will be great here on the cool mornings and nights.
what a beauty
this be it
connection behind the fridge
quick connect so we can easily remove it to store in the summer
or remove it when it goes to a dealer in Canada

I wandered around checking out the store and toys outside.

Just after 10:30 we pulled out of there back down Keuhn st. to home dirt

After supper outside working on my blog until 7:30 down to 60f so getting a chill, inside to finish this up. And enjoy some heat from our Blue flame, Yup we loving it already!

  1. We will be headed over to RV Lifestyles early Saturday to have a couple of things taken care. They worked on our 5th Wheel a couple of years ago and we were very happy with their work and price.
Tom said the catfish looks good but he wants to know what is up with only 1 shrimp a piece? He does not feel that is even an appetizer...:)
    Nice seeing you both today.

  2. We LOVE our blue flame heater that we got at RV Lifestyles last year. We even use it in our park model back home. Just have not had the Quik Connect added to our trailer. Hose goes through the window but it works fine.

  7. We bought our Blue Flame heater the first year we were full timing. We love it. We mostly stay in warm areas, but when we need it, it does the job perfect. You will actually be too hot sometimes...lol

    1. Our Mr Heater did the trick for 10 years we like to stay in warm areas as well , but the nights can get chilly, even in the summer back home, so it is a very worthwhile investment for us. I can see getting too hot on the lowest setting it is 72F.

  9. I love those heaters. Been to Quartzsite twice to get one, but they are always sold out. SO much nicer than the rig heaters.

    1. They are wonderful heaters, usually they are sold out early in the season, if you know when you will be in the area you could phone ahed and they will probably hold one for you.
Yes, SO much nicer and more efficient than the rv furnace.

    1. Our Mr Buddy did the trick for over 10 years, we did not know about the Blue Flame back then. It is more money but we will make very good use for it, The thermostat is a real bonus.

I agree with Tom......one shrimp? but I understand now you were testing. I'm going to try next time I deep fry to NOT use our basket. i'll need to buy a good slotted spoon though.

  16. Looks like a nice job on the heater install. I guess they couldn't re-use the Buddy heater lines because they were high pressure from the tank and the Blue Flame is low pressure after the regulator. Correct?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually we could have done that, they sell a pressure regulator for the blue flame and you could just hook up to the high pressure line, But we preferred to have it done this way. The high pressure hose I have has been there over 10 years and I think it should need to be replaced soon any way. Some people add the regulator and run a line through the window or slide to the heater inside. Your choice.

  17. Do you just open one window a crack to vent? Or more?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Just the small window over our sink 1/4 inch and is fine some people do not even ion windows and are still alive, there is air leaks in and rv.

  18. We still love our Mr. Heaters. We had a Blue Flame when we had Duchess but it scared her. So, did the Mr. Heaters but we could move them away. Love the heat they both put out. That's the best part.
