Moved down the road and arrived before we left, to cool!

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another mild night windows open and good nights sleep. Did get another wonderful sunrise this morning perfect for our last morning here. Managed some quiet early walkabouts here as well.
Back home by 8 am secured our coach, said see ya laters to Roger and Sue and when Bill and Patsy were all hooked up we headed on down the road. Only 35 miles to go so and an easy drive. No point hooking up the car again so Suzie got another diving fix in her car. We left at 10 am Arizona time and arrived at 9:35 California time. Now how is that for making good time? Kinda like back to the future.
the Canal by the Imperial Sand dunes
always love passing by these dunes
Then at 9:35 am we checked in to the Hot Springs LTVA purchased our 2 week permits for $40.00 and pulled in to set up camp by our friends from Dryden Ontario. We met them here in 2007 our first spring in the southwest and have kept in touch ever since.
Not long to park in our usual spot, greeted  by Oscar , Judy, and Tom.  The rest of this group at the flea market in Calexico . Then I tilted our solar panel , set up our satellite dish, while Suzie set up inside and we enjoyed a light tasty lunch.
solar tilted and our friends the 4 rigs right ahead
After lunch I did a short drive around the area and checked out the Hot Springs. Looks as good as it ever did.

the lagoon behind the palms
lots of people the hot spring
this be our site here for a few days

We actually sat and read for a bit then Lorie pulled out on her motorcycle with Shatzsi on the back see her white head sticking out? Lori and Roland are from Dryden Ontario and last summer they stopped by our site at Rock Glen Resort for lunch as they were making their way to the East coast on their motorcycles. A nice visit then and always a nice visit here in the southwest.

On one of my walkabouts I spotted this huge truck camper one slide that I can see one on this side and another out the back no wonder they need one ton dually for it.
Then as these guys always do Happy Hour here at 3:30 pm so of course we can join them and get to chat with everyone and enjoy a few snacks.
just a few appys before supper
Aline showing some bargains she got at the Calexico  market for her great grands
Bill,Clemson and Patsy stopped by to say hi
Lori on left , her mom Judy on the right
Now soon time for supper, in the California time zone the sunset is much earlier , so we missed it almost, but was cloudy anyway so would have no been much to see if at all.
grilled a couple of Turkey Garlic sausage from home
and some spaghetti squash in foil
aded to our salad it sure did the trick
Here we are still outside posting this blog and reading at 7:40 pm and a comfortable 64f (17c)  much better than most places in the USA  and Canada right now so no complaints here.
Soon time to call it a night seems like we may be taking bus trip tomorrow for an interesting excursion. Sounds like fun so will tell you about that tomorrow.
Thanks again for stopping by and enjoying our adventures with us.

  3. Are you heading to the Q? or hanging around there for the Carrot Festival? I see there is a new sign at the LTVA, and more folks than when we've stopped by. Welcome to California!

  10. Love that I'm learning about all these new spots. Have you ever noticed the old wood rail road through the Dunes? Left over from the days of Model T's, they laid wood rails down in the soft sand so they could drive over them and not get stuck. It was an entire highway, but now only shows up in spots here and there.

    1. Thanks Nancy lots of fun spots.
We did check out that wooden road many years ago when we camped right across from it, sure would have been a large project to get those model t"s across the desert.
