Just another wonderful overnight and morning here at the Hot Springs n Holtville California. Our last morning here and enjoyed some very night walkabouts tarring at 6:30 as the su was beginning to rise. No rush today we heading out after 8:30 so we have lotsa time to putter around.
All set to go with Bill and Patsy we pulled out about 8:40 am taking some back roads to Quartzite rather than the interstate. Through Glamis and the northern part of the Imperial dunes and enjoying the roller coaster roads along the way. At least I did.

Where have we been this winter ?
Welcome to Quartzsite. Love those roads, but Miss Kitty doesn't. I really enjoyed the pics of the dunes. Going to head that way a bit later to say we've at least seen them. Chicken looks excellent.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb, we always enjoy it here the roads are fun travelling too bad Miss Kitty does not like them. The dunes are a wonderful sight to see even more fun to explore on an atv or such.
DeleteChicken yummy as always.
Always nice to have a plan B. The best part is it usually doesn't matter what the plan is as long as in the end you are parked in a spot where you can relax and just enjoy the wonderful desert.
ReplyDeleteThat is so right guys, anywhere in the desert out here is home, lots more areas to explore whenever the mood strikes us.
DeleteEnjoy your time in Quartzsite. Don't know yet if we'll get there this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks John we will enjoy it here as always, You guys are busy as always quartzite never changes much so not much is new.
DeleteThanks for taking us on a new route, enjoyed it, Yes we are happy!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Bill glad you enjoyed the drive.
DeleteBased on everyone's clothing, it must be plenty warm there - finally moved above freezing here yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYes Larry it was very warm, even with some clouds in the sky.
DeleteSounds pretty cold there for you guys.
Hi George and Suzie
ReplyDeleteI guess every time you get to Q, I'm gonna miss the open road and my fulltiming friends. Thanks for sharing the journey. I'll be at Happy hour in spirit! Clancy
Sure glad to have you along and we enjoyed some fun Happy hours here and our hike up Q mountain together. We do think of you often always nice to hear from you.
DeleteQ looks like it is starting to get fired up for the show.
ReplyDeleteYep things are coming together, but there seems to be less people and less vendors every year, especially compared to 11 years ago, but still lots going on and things to see.
DeleteWe love Reacher stories and use the audio versions when we are on the road. Suzie gets a lot of use out of that foot stool you made.
ReplyDeleteThe Reacher stories are another one of my favourites as well. Suzie does use that foot stool everyday no problem and loves it.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous drive..I love the back roads and the dips..brings back good childhood memories! Oh my gosh your chicken dinner looks wonderful! Looks like a lovely site you've got there!
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful drive, and the dips, love them.
DeleteWe do have a wonderful site here as well.
Have a great time enjoying the sun and warmth of the Q.
ReplyDeleteWe sure will and always enjoy this area.
DeleteIt was a good driving day yesterday and now a couple of cloudy days. No problem we have things to putter at and I have a fridge I want to clean out. I won't be tempted to be outside as easily!
ReplyDeleteWe have things to keep us busy as well, but still will be outside.
DeleteLove those back roads, so much better than the freeway. The ups and downs are familiar from my childhood trips to the desert when I lived in Southern California. I loved them. Glad to see you all back in Quartzite, and the group is growing. Not sure we will make it, but if we do, we will look you up.
ReplyDeleteThe back roads are much more fun for sure. Back in Q where we always enjoy the wide open spaces.
DeleteLook us up for sure if you can make it.
I use plan B so much I should rename it plan A! ;c)
ReplyDeleteNo matter to us we use what ever plan works for the day, the beauty of this lifestyle.
DeleteOur plans are always flexible, the beauty of this lifestyle.
DeleteAnother perfect day ending with another perfect chicken dinner! Life is good!
ReplyDeleteYes Peter another perfect day enjoying this amazing life we are blessed with.
DeleteEnjoy your time at Q. Will have to do without us this year!!
