Some people do not know how to enjoy Quartzsite, it takes a little bit every day./

Where are we today ?
Wow we are here in the desert, beautiful sunrises, sunsets and moon rises and moonsets. Clear blue skies no rain and warm temperatures, in January how can you not like it?
Yep we are dry camping in the desert, no hookups with a few hundred thousand another like minded people. Cheap, yeah I guess, we are paying $40.00 for two weeks here and for that we have access to a sewage dump, garbage dumpsters and good water. Also we can walk to the big rv show, and a  few hundred vendors selling "stuff". we really enjoy whats here. Also so many people to meet and friends to hang out with, it is an experience.
Many people we know have stopped in to check things out and if you are here this weekend , nothing but crowds, too much traffic and too much to see. Lotta junk, lotta stuff.
We will be here two to three weeks, and can enjoy the slow times, the busy times and get to see a lot of interesting things in town. Over the years we have spent well over three months and really get to know the Q. Something that we can  relate to.
nice moon set this morning
cruising a few rows in Tyson Wells before it gets too busy,
We did all the rows  A to Z..
want hats?
lotsa hats

Traffic getting busy on Keuhn st
food court? no thanks, not for us, we have food at home
more cheap stuff
Now there, we did all this stuff before noon and then back to home dirt, make lunch and putter around a bit enjoy the afternoon, in the shade. It's too hot in the sun.
Shortly after 3 pm the six of us got together, discussing all the stuff we did today. Comparing notes and a plan to hit the Big Tent in the morning next door. We are lucky can just walk over and walkabout with all the thousands of other people here, no traffic jams for us!
we being happy for an hour or so
cool car pulled in next to John and Barb

Suzie got here doggie fix with Piper
Lady Girl says HI!!
Time to fire up our Weber Q, to grill a 1/2 chicken,

supper done and was wonderful
That was another fun day exploring some of the fun things to see in Quartzsite, So much, more to see and do and we have lots of time to do it. Just pace ourselves a bit every day.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy this fun place with us. Hope you had fun too.

  1. You are right. There is so much to see. However finding time to see it all is going to be difficult no matter how long we'll be here. Sounds like you're having a great time and making the most of "Q" and so are we. Enjoy!

  2. Great explanation of the Q thing, George. Just like anywhere else, it takes more than a "drop in" to really get the hang and the feel of a place. It also helps that you have time to enjoy the fun and retreat to your sunsets and sunrises and your own space. I get that part. Nice description. Still not sure I would manage it because too much stuff for sale makes me a little bit nuts, I am not good at all at searching out gems at thrift shops or box stores, even though I know folks who can find all the good stuff. Enjoyed seeing the photos though, and enjoyed your description of it. You caught the essence very well.

  8. You make me feel sorry that we did not make the effort to get over to Quartzsite this winter, but 4 new tires to buy, the budget is already blown. Maybe next year! Thanks for the great pictorial tour. George, you need to write a book on how to experience the place in January.

    1. Tires, fridges and maintenance, that is just all in the cost of living in our house,
Sure beats pay for a real house. No taxes etc...
Too bad your did not come this way, weather this year is awesome and cheap fuel too.

  11. George,
I have never seen anything like that .....what does it resemble the WORLD'S FAIR ????? Your explanation and photos kinda remind me of the old saying ...." If everyone else is going, it will be so crowded, I better stay home !!!! ". Have FUN !!!!

    1. It is an experience, and lots of great places to hike that you might enjoy too.
Small town turned into a big city overnight, and everyone trying to make a buck.
