Where are we today
If your missed yesterday's posting click
here. Our internet ran out last night and had to head into El Centro California to top it up this morning.
But we are on track again for another month or until,we run out of Gigabites.

This is where are for a bit |
First thing this morning we headed to El Centro in search of a Dollar General to top up our Verizon account. Stopped at a Mc Donalds for their free wifi, (no breaky we are on a mission) located the the place we needed only a few blocks away. Hard to find because it was a new store, Dollar General MARKET. Kind of cool place. Fresh meat, veggies and lotsa good stuff. Got everything we needed right here and some good deals too.
Back home around 10 am and we can now enjoy our day here in the desert. A neighbour here we have seen in years past has an old bus conversion. Hogans Hilton, met this interesting couple a few times over the years.
After a quick bite for lunch we can enjoy the very hot day in the shade with our books. Even had neighbours dog Nina stop by for a treat. Looks like a tiny Mexican cutie. So skittish but friendly .
|
doggie fix for Suzie and she got a nice treat |
|
a bit more shade with our umbrella |
|
BEWARE ! |
Now shortly after 3 o'clock we gather about for a social hour, few small snacks today. Tell some stories and lies and a fun time.
|
George brought some Moose sausage =awesome! |
|
fun times, everybody is welcome |
Soon time for us to head home, fire up our Weber Q, grill some taters, carrots, zucchini and pork chops (picked up on sale at Dollar General ($2.60).
|
cooked this all up and yes have leftovers |
|
sure hit the spot |
|
Then a wonderful sunset |
Perfect ending to another perfect day.
Thanks again for stopping by here in the desert for a visit. Lotsa room, no reservations and almost free.

Grilled carrots! Wow, I must try that some day soon. What's your trick for TENDER pork chops?
ReplyDeleteTender pork chops, need some fat on them while cooking and don't over cook them , they do dry out and get tough. They cook very quickly almost like a steak.
DeleteWhat a great time you two have! Sure doesn't take long for you to find friends and have a party.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a couple years, but usually meet people in places we go to after so many years.
DeleteOr just hang out by ourselves.
My dad says the same thing each time he comes home from visiting his friends...We sat around and talked about the old days and told a lot of lies...lol
ReplyDeleteIts all fun and entertainment and nice to chat with friends.
DeleteGeneral Dollar MARKET - that's really interesting. I haven't seen any of those up here yet. Glad you got your internet going again. Can't imagine life without it anymore.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first Market we have seen, must be a new concept for Dollar General.
DeleteYou are just having way too much fun as usual. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGotta do it while we can, thats why we are living this lifestyle.
DeleteConsidering that your Ontario summer home base is under snow and bitterly cold temperatures, your spot in the sun - with hot springs - is a gift.
ReplyDeleteThis sure is a gift with the brutal weather back home!
DeleteOh...you guys make us sooooo home sick! Holtville LTVA is HOME for us.
ReplyDeleteWe will post the pics so you will feel like you are here, hope things warm up for you there.
DeleteAnother great group and the fun continues as it should. I never have been in a Dollar General before but sounds like they have some good deals. Nice looking chops. Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSome deals to be had there, and they are all over the USA.
DeleteEnjoy your Day too!
Glad you got your internet up and running, kinda wondered what happened. I remember many of those folks from when you were there last time. Enjoy/
ReplyDeleteThat was two years ago.
