Most of sunday was awesome, then it all went sideways.

Where are we today ?
Aurora Ontario
Sunday starts off wonderful, great night's sleep and bright sunny skies with cooler weather. Computing a bit and coffees with my cousin and her husband. I made a quick trip to Canadian Tire for a couple tail light bulbs for our car then over to visit daughter Kim, Brian and the kids.
When we got there Brian's parents had dropped in for a visit so we had a nice tasty light lunch, fresh cold cuts, veggies, cheese and fresh strawberries. Chat for a while and enjoy the visit, have not seen them for quite a while.
Then Suzie took our granddaughter and dolly for a walk around the block while I picked up a few supplies to prep tonight's supper.
I worked on the salads while Kim made banana loaf
then a few samples of gourmet cheeses  for the bunch of us
 before starting supper.
Now I am cooking up a nice 5 pound pork roast on their amazing Weber  Genesis BBQ.  All prepped with a rub on it and directly on the grill for about 90 minutes. I had prepped a caesar salad and made a large bowl of my tasty macaroni salad.
love this Weber too
Banana Blueberry loaf
Now at this point my day started going sideways.  I was having some major indigestion  pains in my chest like I have never experienced before and a shortness of breath. Hmm not good..... actually kinda scary so better check this out right away. Could be signs of a possible heart attack. So Brian kept and eye on the roast and finished it off, while Kim' drove me and Suzie to the Newmarket Hospital Emerg shortly before 6 pm.
They are pretty efficient here and by 6:30 I was checked in, blood work done, ECG done and just wait for the test results. Very friendly efficient staff and doctors here too. By 8 o'clock the results are in and the Doc. comes to tell me that all looks pretty good. BUT. And there is always a but.
He wants another blood test done in two hours just to make sure things do not change. Also has order a stress test for me to have done at some time in the near future. So Suzie called daughter Kim who brought us a couple roast pork sandwichs, a Timmies coffee and banana blueberry cake. Thanks Kim!!! It's getting to bedtime and have a few hours to go yet.
Almost 8 o'clock and still a few hours to go. So Suzie  went back with here picked up our car and stuff, brought back my laptop to help me pass the time until all test results are done.
our waiting  place in Pod "C"
one IV needle to keep testing
Kim did take a pic of supper for me thou
Thanks for stopping in and hope you had a little better Sunday than we did. Most of it was pretty excellent .

As of right now it's 11:10 pm and still waiting for the test results and hopefully can go home to bed.
Test results all good to go.... now Thanks doc !!!!!

  2. The good thing is that you made a mad dash to the hospital and they were able to check you out. Keep us posted and hopefully he'll say it was just indigestion which has already passed.

  4. George, I hate to mention it but you are toooo old for all that much excitement. Rushing to Emerg, etc.. Stop it before you give yourself a heart attack. Puts me in mind of a close friend I have was in Emerg, kind of groggy asked the duty nurse "have my testicles turned BLACK?" She gave no response and once again he repeated weakly "Have my testicles turned BLACK?" Not wanting to upset him she lifted the covers and gave him a through inspection, then replied "I think every thing is fine. He smiled as he motioned her to bend closer then exclaimed in a very clear voice. "That was interesting but ARE MY TEST RESULTS BACK!!!!!"
    Stay Well George

Yeah gonna have to stop those sunday evening visits to emerg.
Sure sounds like an entertaining way to pass the time waiting for test results.

  5. Good luck with the stress test - better to be safe than sorry. At least you got a taste of that pork.

  6. Wow, scary event for sure George - I mean that Pork Roast could have been ruined without you there to watch it!!

You're too healthy and young for a heart attack - must have been indigestion or something. Sure glad your tests turned out o.k. and you were good to go.

That's the type of quick, efficient and professional treatment we're accustomed to with our Canadian Health Care System.

    1. Brian took care of the roast like a pro, was almost done when I left, and looked so awesome too!
Got sidetracked and did not get a picture of it!
I have never had indigestion quite like that, but doc said it could have been a lot of things.
This was the quickest Emerg. visit I have ever had.

Oh dear, that is a scary Sunday. We are so pleased to read your tests results do not show anything alarming. Saying a prayer that all goes well when you take your stress test.

    1. We usually do that too for every lunch.
The prayers and studying for the stress test will help for sure.

  11. Hey, George! That had to have been really scary! Glad the tests turned OK, you did the right thing.

  12. Yikes, what a wrench to throw in a wonderful day. You did exactly the right thing by going to the ER. It's a sad fact that too many individuals "blow off symptoms" and don't live to tell.

I'm glad you passed the tests, and I'm sure the stress test will be fine also. Now fire up that grill! :-)

    1. No grilling until Tuesday.
Don't like to blow off the symptoms, I like to be here to tell about them, its much more fun!

  13. Very scary, but very wise to head straight to the ER!
