Where are we today ?
More wonderful warm humid weather but still good for sleeping. Outside all day in the shade with a nice breeze only 84f but with 91% humidity feels like 93f. So no need for our A/C yet. The Fantastic fan gives us lotsa fresh air and will cool down nicely for sleeping again tonight.

Headed into Peterborough shortly after 11 am to check out the
Daryl Talbot tour. He is doing a Canada wide tour promoting Black and Deckers new BBQ's at Walmarts. Thanks for the heads up from John and Judy of
Rv Life on wheels.
We got to the Walmart and his music is blaring away (all great tunes that we know). He is walking about the parking lots carrying on with everybody that walks in his path, promoting the new Black and Decker grills.
|
nice setup |
He kept the crowds going and we listened to his sales pitch and at one time he mentioned Weber grills! As nice as these are and great prices they just do not have the quality of a Weber grill. And they do not have a portable grill yet anyway.
To demonstrate these grills they were cooking up a storm huge hamburgers or sausage only $2.00 and all the money goes to charity. So we each enjoyed a burger for lunch.

the coach is sure an eye catcher |
Left here to head back to camp and got tied up in a traffic jam, bit of a fender bender, car rear ended a pickup truck but at least no one was badly injured.

Back home to read for while in the shade and I fired up our Weber Q to grill some homemade meat balls, fresh mushrooms and a red pepper to add to our spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for a while.

Weber Q working |
While this was happening had to stop by Happy Hour for a bit to chat with a few more new people in between the raindrops and sunshine here and there.
Ok now got our spaghetti squash, chopped in in half and took out the seeds.
Poke the skin with a fork a few times, add a table spoon or so of water to a plate.
|
cover and nuke for 10 minutes until very tender |

scoop out the the "spaghetti" |

topped with meatballs, mushrooms and spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese and a fresh garlic cheese bun. |
Then afterwards head outside to enjoy a wonderful summer evening, read for a while, few people stop by and chat then before we know it's like 9:30 ! And getting dark, past my bedtime. So in we go finish posting this blog and a yummy strawberry shortcake for desert. Such wonderful fresh picked Ontario Strawberries, right from the Berry farm around the corner.

oh so good! |

Now don't you just feel sorry for all those weekenders that have to go back to work? Or does that bring back memories you'd rather not have to remember. I know it would for me! Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
I always enjoyed work until I discovered that retirement is the best job I ever have, but now we get no days off.
DeleteThanks for the shout out George...Daryl is one wild guy for sure! That was quite the rig they had.
ReplyDeleteYes he was a wild guy, good man for the job sounds like a fun tour
DeleteWhat a way to end the day...fresh strawberries and shortcake! Yum, yum!
ReplyDeleteYeppir sure was yum!
DeleteWe must be getting old when Monday is the highlight of the weekend...lol
ReplyDeleteWell on Monday we can relax a bit more, less weekend excitement.
DeleteWe caught a company promoting new BBQs last year. It was all you could eat ribs. Needless to say, that ended up being our dinner. What fun!
ReplyDeleteNow that sounds like a great promotion for sure.
