Where are we today ?
Another good night for sleeping, windows open fresh breeze being drawn in with our fantastic fan. All is good slept late until almost 5:30 this morning and felt like a million bucks.
Hot humid and pretty sticky by 8:30 this morning gonna be another awesome day. Temps about 85f feeling like about 94 f with the humidity but we have anice refreshing summer breeze we don't even feel like going for a swim.
Went to Peterborough Farmer's market and the local weather thingies are saying its 90f over 100f, but hey thats in the city.
|
the first thing we did was stop to pick a a huge chunk of applewood smoked pork keilbosa only $10.00. |
|
good crowds at the market so we made it a quick tour |
|

Lotsa buskers there playing their tunes making for a wonderful atmosphere.

Then a drive about Peterborough for a bit, could say we got lost. But we don't get lost just sometimes explore and take the scenic route. Ened up by the Peterbourgh lift lock. An engineering marvel we have not seen for a few year. You can read a bit about it

Peterborough Hydraulic lift lock, not busy right now |
A nice drive along the canal stopped at Giant Tiger discount store picked up a new pair of shorts for $5.00, like this store!
Back home for a bite to eat for lunch, walkabout and chat with a few people then relax in the shade with a nice breeze and our books.
|
wonderful view |
|
Pat, Norm and Billy Jean stopped by for Suzie's doggie fix and happy hour. |
Then we fire up our Weber Q and Fry Daddy, just have that awful craving for chicken wings and homemade fries again. So there add some celery, carrots, red pepper, hot sauces and dips we got to enjoy this feast right here at home on an awesome summer day.
|
love our wings and fries |
Now to work off supper outside for a couple hours, with a walkabout and book reading, until time to head inside to finish off the rest of our strawberry shortcake. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it! And we are loving every minute of it.
|
same picture as last night but still tastes awesome, all gone until the next one. |
Thats was it for a fun saturday here just enjoying summertime, thanks for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteWas too, thanks.
DeleteWith all the food you keep eating I'm going to have to go on a diet. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
You better do that if you think you need it then.
DeleteSaturday markets are usually a lot of fun. We need to take more time to visit them more often.
ReplyDeleteI agree they are a great outing.
DeleteThat market looked wonderful. I've never seen cherries at one...and they really caught my attention.
ReplyDeleteWe also love sleeping with the windows open and especially if it's a little cool.
Cherries in season here now and very plentiful, love them.
DeleteNow that was a lot of strawberries! And your shortcake sure looks yummy?
