Where are we today ?
Yesterday was an awesome day celebrating our 20 years together, (if you missed it click
HERE )good fun and great company! Good nights sleep and this morning sunshine and another wonderful warm day. Perfect about 75f (24c). Morning walkabouts and computing then we headed on out to Bancroft to visit an rv friend (Karen a single mom) we met many years ago in Algonquin Park with her two young children. The children are not so young anymore in fact her daughter Robyn has a 9 month old son.
Karen is not camping anymore, just recently purchased a nice cottage on the lake for the family to come and visit with her. Selling her almost new class "C" rv.
Only an hours drive north of here thru some wonderful countryside.

today's day trip, 55 miles each way |

such a nice scenic drive it was too |
Its been 2 years since we have seen each other and was so nice to get together. Her Siamese cat rules the roost (as most cats do) exploring the kitchen cupboards.

Suzie got a dog fix with Fiona, we have known forever= |

Robyn's dog just enjoying the awesome day |
|
we relaxed under the gazebo enjoying the view of the lake |

a beautiful dog, sorry can't remember his name ! |
We chatted for hours getting caught up and just enjoying a wonderful day by the lake. Also had a very tasty lunch Karen whipped on her BBQ, burgers, hot dogs and some tasty salads. Then we shared a fresh baked chelsea bun we pickup at the Buckhorn bakery for desert. No calories at all!
Thanks for stopping by again and enjoying another fun day in the sun with us.

Nothing like a ride through some pretty countryside. And a visit with an old friend. What a chelsea bun? That's a new one for me.
ReplyDeleteNever thought a Chelsea bun in a Canadian thing described like so. Mainly from the bakeries on this area of Muskoka.
Delete" The filling of brown sugar, cinnamon and butter is rolled inside the sweet dough, together with the raisins. On top is the same filling, mixed with a bit of water to make a sauce, and is sprinkled with maraschino cherries and pecans."
Looks like a gorgeous place. Does she have an RV site just waiting for you on that lake? What a nice place that would be to stay for a while.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful spot.
DeleteShe does not have any level spots yet but is thinking about putting one in, would be nice, but expensive.
Congrats on 20 years - well done!
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought about cooking bacon or a grilled cheese sandwich on a Q!
I'm going to have to search around for a Chelsea bun!
Can cook almost anything on your Weber, limited only to your imagination.
DeleteHope you can find a chelsea bun they are awesome!
nice road trip...
