Love rainy days Camping!

Where are we today ?
Yep, just love warm rainy days camping. Why? Nice change of pace, cool down a tiny bit, pitter patter of rain on the roof of our coach and I can collect rain water and wash our coach and car, allowing the rain water to rinse every thing down for a spotless finish. (they don't allow vehicle or rv washing in the park, but can't say anything if I do it in the rain).
So got my buckets out collected lotsa water, long handle brush, rain poncho and my rain hat, (an Arizona Palm leaf hat that just loves the rain). It keeps my head, glasses and hearing aides dry.
4th time filling buckets
nice steady warm rain
coach is all done, now the car
Not much for walking about in the rain but got my exercise today washing in the rain. Another nice thing about warm rain water is it is awesome for washing my hair and beard if they were still long. Not so much anymore thou, thats what I used to do a few years ago. Actually quite a few years ago.
my rainwater soft fine hair
So when the rain let up slightly we went outside to read for a while just listening to the raindrops on our awning and watching rivers of water running down the road.
yep we are having a heavy rain
Now do you need a heavy duty truck to pull your 5th wheel trailer? Here is just the rig for you. Only 107,000 kms (66,000. mile) on it. Satellite dish, full kitchen, bathroom, shower, generator, sleeping and a 20 thousand pound 5th wheel hitch. Only $41,000.00 cheaper than a new pick up truck.
The thing about cottage country when it rains, on a Sunday there is a mass exodus of people heading back to the city very early in the day, sure glad we are not travelling in that especially with this rain.
The day was great cooling down a bit to 70 f and quite nice. Then eventually time to fire up our Weber Q to grill some new red potatoes, fresh carrots and peas in the pod. Coated them with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper then let then go on the grill (close the lid) turning every 10 minutes or so until done just right. When they begin to get a bit dark from the grill brings out the natural sugars in them and taste amazing.
Next heated up some left over pork with gravy we had frozen that John and Lea had given us from that Pig Roast at the Canada Day party. Had an awesome hot pork sandwich with veggies and taters done on the grill.
so tasty
Supper done and now we can enjoy a nice warm summer evening outside, rain has stopped and sun is shining, love it!
Just wanna thank ya'll for stopping by for a peak and hope you had a great day too!

  1. Why did you wear your hat and poncho? If you just put on your swimming trunks you could have gotten clean too! ;-)

    1. Hat so my glasses don't get spotty, gotta see, and keep my hearing aides dry to get wet they are toast! Already had a shower today so don't need another. Now if we were in the desert and nobody around could wash the coach naked (don't wanna scare anybody ya know) but still need the hat.

  2. When we were in Florida this past winter I kept telling Kathy I should wash the truck and trailer while it rained but she would find something else for me to do instead. Then she saw someone else doing it and now you. Hey you aren't using park water and you are using a naturally renewable resource so why not. Now she is starting to see my point.

I told you the other day I'll have to go on a diet because of all the food you're eating. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  3. I'm glad the rain is on the east coast and not on the west coast. We're ready for lots of sunshine for the next few months. We'll just let you enjoy the rain.

  5. One my fav things to do is sit out under the awning sip'n up a cup an' watch the rain.

I got to admit, the new Weber sure do git my "grill buds" work'n. Been grill'n stuff I ain't never even thought about before. I always been a good griller, but the Weber Q has improved my skills. Don't even have to check it every 10 minutes to see if'n it's on fire.

    1. That hat to keep the sun of my head, or keep me warm also keep sun from reflecting on my glasses.
