A very warm night ayr the Casino, windows open and 57 f at 5 am, loving this weather as we continue to head to lower elevations in the southwest. A nice sunrise over the Casino this morning and got a few early morning walkabouts , just because I could. No need to rush today only a couple of hours down the road to relocate.

This is where we get to enjoy probably the most Saguaro Cactus we have seen in our travels. Always enjoy this route.

Forests of these Saguaro cactus everywhere |
About 11:30 am we pulled into Coyote Howls East to hang our for a week. Primitive (dry camping) that we were at last year. Love it here. Only $40.00 a week and includes free wifi, available water , sewage dump stations, garbage disposables, flush toilets, pay showers, and a very nice laundry as well. A pretty good deal in our minds and some large open private sites as well.

I enjoy those open scenic roads a lot. When you got to the campground, you got a super site...open and pretty private! Enjoy your week there.
ReplyDeleteMost of these sites are very private another reason we love it here. Also the price is excellent as well.
DeleteWe have traveled in that area and always enjoyed it.
ReplyDeletet sure is a nice place to enjoy, love the back roads and desert scenery!
DeleteDid you notice any of the 'crested' Saguaro along the highway? There are a couple nice ones. You certainly have timed it for a great time of year to visit. AZ has some of the best place names - Top of the World, Nothing, Why ....
ReplyDeleteI actually did see one as we zipped by but too late to stop and take a picture. We love the fames of these Arizona towns.
DeleteThe wether is perfect too.
Looks quiet and peaceful. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteWe will Deb, sure is peaceful scenes and relaxing.
DeleteWe saw our first Saguaro cactus today. They are certainly impressive!
ReplyDeleteYou found a great place to hang out.
The Saguaro ar impressive, really love them. This is a wonderful place to hang out.
DeleteLove that desert down there! I see you passed by Kitt Peak Observatory. For future reference, it is a great place to visit. No telescopes to look through but very interesting, specially the Solar Observatory where they had a projected image of the sun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip Croft I was thinking of checking it out we drove by and was curious.
DeleteLove highway 86 also. When I visited Kitt Peak in 2014, they had a temporary small telescope set up on one of the paths for the viewing of sun spots. It was very interesting to see through. I drove up using the toad. The views going up the road to the top are awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter will keep that in mind.
DeleteHow cool to read a book about the area you're in. Must have made everything more real. :c)
ReplyDeleteYes J.A.Jance writes a lot of books about the southwest, Bisbee, Benson, Tucson, Why, Sierra vista , nice too visit these areas in our travels.
DeleteI tried your pot pie recipe. Not on the Q, but in the oven. It was delicious!! Thank you for another good dinner!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, I use the oven to make it but the Q works to heat it when we have it set up.
DeleteLooks like an awesome spot you have, great views. I take note of all the great places you stay.
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome and very reasonable with free wifi as well.
DeleteCoyote Howls, another one we'll have to remember. Another great day and great spot. Enjoy!
