We gonna have an awesome sunny day just the kind we love. Di get a few nice morning walkabouts and a few more during the day Temperature did get up to 72f (22C) and much warmer in the sun of course. On my first walkabout spotted the guy below, looks like he is shedding. Below is the Teddy Bear/ Jumping Cholla Cactus they look so pretty and fuzzy but don't let that fool you. You can read about them HERE. I know about them first hand. Our first winter here in 2006 we were in a campground. Taking laundry to the park laundry mat as I walk by one it jumped right out and attacked me. Mind you I was only a few inches away. It was attached to my left arm. I could not remove it! Here I went into the office and a maintenance guy there Joe had some thick leather gloves on and was able to remove it from my arm. Ouch painful those fluffy looking spikes have barbed ends and don't want to let go.

Where have we been this winter ?
Nice sunset! You may want to stay put a few more days till the Santa Anna winds pass. This is a big one, 80mph gusts pushing the fires faster than the fire crews can move. Hope those fighting the fires and RV travelers all stay safe. If your awning has a topper you may consider bringing it in ... I know you bring in the awning. Stay safe and hunker down!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff hunker down we can do, we are keeping an eye of the weather, and probably stay here for a few more days maybe even a week, it is so nice. Don't want to travel in the wind. Awing is secure, even our window awnings are mostly up, And of course the slide will come in too because the wind will be hitting it dead on.
DeleteIt was probably a fair bit warmer than here, and you don't have that nice white blanket covering it all!
ReplyDeleteYes Stew very much warmer, I will enjoy your pictures of the white blankets covering the ground and remember when. Thanks ford that for us.
DeleteAmazing what a little warmth will do for ya, huh? Love the view from up top the motorhome. Glad you're charging at full power now....
ReplyDeleteYes Deb, the sunshine and blue skies really get you out there and is invigorating. . It is a sure can see a lot more of our space from up there.
DeleteLove the blue sky with the white fluffy clouds. Sounds like another wonderful day with a great sunset.
ReplyDeleteThe desert skies always amaze me and the sunrises and sunsets awesome as well.
DeleteWe're watching the fires/wind and we'll be bringing in the slide tonight before bed as the winds are due to gust around 90kph here. Looks like you got a nice spot there, nice and spacious between rigs.
ReplyDeleteHunker down and ride out the storm is always an experiences, keep safe. Thats' why we love the desert for all the room that we have.
DeleteI haven't seen a Fry Daddy in ages. I did love mine years ago!!
ReplyDeleteStill love ours comes in handy just for the 2 of us.
DeleteOne of my dogs has had several experiences with the cholla cactus. I have numerous times tried to explain to her, she is not fast enough to catch the rabbits, but she does not listen. Found that BBQ tongues are a good tool to remove them. Her long fur is a good benefit.
ReplyDeleteDogs just don't understand I guess. Those rabbits are fast. BBQ tongs should do the trick, but I don't have the long fur bonus.
DeleteWow that's quite the story with the cactus..they looks deadly that's for sure, even though they are pretty! The view from the top sure shows how much room you have there! Dinner once again looks wonderful! Beautiful sunset!
ReplyDeleteYes that Teddy Bear can be mean and painful. The view from the roof is always nice to show the wide open places.
DeleteThose teddy bear chollas look soft but indeed they are not.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great day and now going to experience a wee cool down with some of the winds we've had.
Keep on enjoying your area!
We are really enjoying this area, so relaxing and peaceful, Yes those chollas can be nasty. Windy today but clear blue skies.
DeleteSounds like a pretty fine day George
ReplyDeleteYes Larry it sure was ! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteYour fish looks absolutely perfect. I love it cooked that way! You're right, those Teddy Bear cactus look so cute - thank goodness I've never had one jump out at me. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb the fish was excellent, you lucky with the teddy bears.
