Sunny blue desert skies and much warmer than yesterday.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
We gonna have an awesome sunny day just the kind we love. Di get a few nice morning walkabouts and a few more during the day Temperature did get up to 72f (22C) and much warmer in the sun of course.
On my first walkabout spotted the  guy below, looks like he is shedding. Below is the Teddy Bear/ Jumping Cholla Cactus they look so pretty and fuzzy  but don't let that fool you. You can read about them HERE. I know about them first hand. Our first winter here in 2006 we were in a campground. Taking laundry to the park laundry mat as I walk by one it jumped right out and attacked me. Mind you I was only a few inches away. It was attached to my left arm. I could not remove it! Here I went into the office and a maintenance guy there Joe had some thick leather gloves on and was able to remove it from my arm. Ouch painful those fluffy looking spikes have barbed ends and don't want to let go.
Teddy Bear cactus all over the desert
see the ones on the ground?
Babies ?
About 10 am we are checking our batteries, only charging at 5-6 amps?  Hmm. I thought the sun was high enough still but when I tilted our one tilting panel all on a sudden we are charging 11 amps. much better.  So now in no time we had a full charge.
nice view from the roof,
lotsa room here
love the space we have
our kind of camping
After lunch I drove around Why, takes about 5 minutes. Not much to see and the west Campground with full hookups not a place we would like at all.
Then home to get into some serious reading in the shade, What a perfect day for it too!
Our view from under our awning
awesome !
Shortly after  4 pm I thawed some fish for supper. Whipped up a salad and preheated our Fry Daddy.  Shaking the fish in our fish crisp and a few minutes later they are done to perfection.
Fry daddy doing the cooking tonight
tasty, and filling
we do love our fish too
as a matter of fact we love food!
This was done just in time to catch another wonderful desert sunset.
Another perfect desert day that we enjoyed, sunny warm, a light breeze. just the way we like our winter days to be. Ending with another nice sunset. Tomorrow looks like it will be cooler and very windy so we will play that one by ear.
Glad that you stopped by for a peek and hope you enjoyed you day as well.

  1. Nice sunset! You may want to stay put a few more days till the Santa Anna winds pass. This is a big one, 80mph gusts pushing the fires faster than the fire crews can move. Hope those fighting the fires and RV travelers all stay safe. If your awning has a topper you may consider bringing it in ... I know you bring in the awning. Stay safe and hunker down!

    1. Thanks Jeff hunker down we can do, we are keeping an eye of the weather, and probably stay here for a few more days maybe even a week, it is so nice. Don't want to travel in the wind. Awing is secure, even our window awnings are mostly up, And of course the slide will come in too because the wind will be hitting it dead on.

  2. It was probably a fair bit warmer than here, and you don't have that nice white blanket covering it all!

  5. We're watching the fires/wind and we'll be bringing in the slide tonight before bed as the winds are due to gust around 90kph here. Looks like you got a nice spot there, nice and spacious between rigs.

  7. One of my dogs has had several experiences with the cholla cactus. I have numerous times tried to explain to her, she is not fast enough to catch the rabbits, but she does not listen. Found that BBQ tongues are a good tool to remove them. Her long fur is a good benefit.

    1. Dogs just don't understand I guess. Those rabbits are fast. BBQ tongs should do the trick, but I don't have the long fur bonus.

  8. Wow that's quite the story with the cactus..they looks deadly that's for sure, even though they are pretty! The view from the top sure shows how much room you have there! Dinner once again looks wonderful! Beautiful sunset!

    1. Yes that Teddy Bear can be mean and painful. The view from the roof is always nice to show the wide open places.
