Where are we today ?

Another very nice desert sunrise this morning after my walkabout by 7:30 this morning. Got my first mile done by the canal after coffees and computing and now ready for another wonderful day.so peaceful here and right by the water |
Then a trip to the New Dollar General in town (just opened today) to top up our Verizon account, get a top up for my Trac Fon and a couple of Santa hats for Christmas. A couple of years ago ours blew away in a dust storm and I finally found some replacements. Stopped by the Rv store and picked up a tube of Dicor self levelling caulking to do some touch ups on the roof of our coach. Perfect weather to get this done.
After a light lunch I took a drive about the area , then way down the canal a couple of miles, crossed a bridge and back up the other side, nice smooth dirt roads here are well maintained.
nice roads by the canal |
Looks like it has been here a while |
nice view and so quiet |
so now to read a bit more, a few walkabouts cause I can't sit still for two long anyway. |
A house not far from here to the north |
I finished my page turner book and began another below did not take me long to figure out that it was a little weird for me. So into the dumpster it went and began another. We have lots of books for our e-readers so not an issue.
nope not this one, Suzie did not like it either |
another good read |
not very long for these chops |
Added to our salad and sure did the trick |
Then once again another wonderful desert sunset, we never get tired of these
Just enjoying more of this great weather here in the southwest, Always something to keep us busy and the clear blue sunny skies make it even much better. Thanks for taking the time to stop on by and all your wonderful comments.

ReplyDeleteWe do enjoy these days almost everyday. Such a great way to enjoy this lifestyle.
DeleteI hope we get a chance to see the new Santa hats in action. ☺ :)
ReplyDeleteThey are mostly for decorating but you will see then in pictures.
DeleteAnother beautiful sunrise/sunset combination, great that you have such an opportunity to share. Looking forward to you replacing the cover photo with one of you in a Santa hat ...
ReplyDeleteThanks another great day, Don't know if I will replace our cover photo but you will see the qanat hats.
DeleteLooking forward to the new Santa hats. Glad you seem to be enjoying the squash, we like it cooked that way. Keep those pics of sunsets and sunrises coming, never get tired of those.
ReplyDeleteWe have been enjoying been squash thanks for the tip. If we have a ince sunrise or sunset I will take a picture, never get tired of them either.
DeleteI see they have Dicor at the place down the road for $8.99 I think. I paid $17.50 for it in Alberta! But still a lot less than a leak! You gotta do the maintenance.
ReplyDeleteThat's right Dave a little maintenance can save you a lot of money, Yes the decor is so much more affordable here is the states, than back in Canada.
DeleteThat canal is LONG and always well maintained. Funny to see fish and wildlife in the desert!!
ReplyDeleteThis canal seems to on forever. It does seem funny to see fishing in the desert.
DeleteAaahhh, that sunset photo calms me! Thank you for always sharing. Merry Christmas to you and Suzie!
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoy them as well, like you said so calming.
DeleteThanks you for the Merry Christmas and joining our travels.
Merry Christmas to you guys as well.
Nice old buildings in the desert, always a treat when you see them. Some still standing and you wonder how?
ReplyDeleteHo ho ho, you should definitely wear your hats at Christmas!
another lovely sunset.
It is amazing to see some of these buildings still standing and yes wonder how they doe it.
DeleteOur Coach will be wearing the hats mostly, though.
Love my e reader, too. I've had to dump a book or two, sure is easy to do with the e reader, a swipe of the finger and it's gone, gone, gone! :c)
ReplyDeleteYes it sure is, like you said one swipe, gone !
DeleteLove the old buildings, sure would like to have some of that old wood! Just a beautiful day! You remind me of Ken, he can't sit for too long either and the fact that he doesn't read books he's always looking for something to do. Now me, give me a good book I'm a happy camper! Love the e readers for that same reason, not into the book there's always another! Great dinner and sunset!
ReplyDeleteI started reading again quiet a few years ago, there is only so many projects i can do to keep me busy. But the odd things here and there, walkabouts and making a couple of meals a day keeps me busy and out of trouble.
DeleteLike Suzie good books and she is a happy camper as well.
Sorry you had to dump the book but it's much easier with the e-reader!! Enjoy your new book!!
ReplyDeleteDo you get the Santa hats at Verizon? Can't wait to see the pics!!
It is so easy with the e-reader, lots more to read that I can enjoy. no need to struggle through one I can't get into.
DeleteGot the Santa hats at the Grocery Store, Del Sol in town here. $1.34 each, good deal.
When snow falls, I look at your Blog for a relief. Could someone do Kayak on the canal ?
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking us out Michel glad you are enjoying this wonderful weather. Not sure if you can but would be difficult to get in and out of the canal with the steep banks.
DeleteI was so happy you stopped by Boomer Chick today! I'm back to blogging...figuring it will keep me out of trouble, lol. You are living a dream, you know that?
