Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it.
Another cool over night but no wind and no dampness we toasty warm. 36 F (2c) at 5:30 am but as the sun rose so did the temperature. And as the sun was rising I got a nice 1 mile walkabout done and home before 8 am. Enjoyed another nice Arizona sunrise. Soon in shorts again.
|
Our last Arizona sunrise for a few weeks |
Then we can putter around secure our coach and head on down the road about 9:15 only 39 miles to go but need to stop for Gas and propane at the Flying J in Yuma. Suzie drove the car behind just so she could enjoy driving HER car once in a while, lol, a rare treat for her.
|
Heading north to I-8 westbound |
|
from the Foothills to Yuma |
|
love this overpass |
|
lots of crops growing and harvesting going on here |
Moving right along almost there we know the road well. But as we crossed into California construction and I missed the sign for our turnoff. OOPPS. Construction signs are confusing sometimes. No problem go to the next exit, hmm that one is close as well. So 10 miles down the road at the Imperial sand dunes we can take that exit and head on back Only 20 miles out of our way, Oh well was a nice scenic drive and we in no hurry.
|
turn around here at the dunes at least we got to see them again earlier than planned |
We did arrive at Pilot Knob resort by 11 am (Arizona time) anyway, Checked in and picked a nice sunny end site near the back of the pack, We prefer it back here no hiway noise and much larger sites. Much more expensive now but still not too bad $14.00 a night with full hookups. We will hang out here until the New year then??? Wander about the desert.
|
here we are |
We got set up and discovered I had a water leak from our water filter to the inlet connection. I fiddled with it a bit . But could not undo the connection, Hmm try as a might no luck. It has been hooked up like this since 2006. I puttered around a bit more we had lunch then our good friends and bloggers
Bill and
Patsy pulled in. Nice to see them again first time since last summer at their Ridge in Durham Ontario.
Bill came over and with his muscle we removed to connection , I cleaned it up and back together , no more water leak! Yahoo, thanks Bill.
|
here we are all set up on a wonderful sunny site |
We were all set up by 3 pm just in time for Happy hour, with friends for a nice change, wonderful. We flapped our gums, got caught up a bit then as it cooled down home to whip up supper.

ReplyDeleteIt is a bit chilly for a day our 2 but the sun is shining so in my books that makes up for it. Much better than other places.
