More sunshine and getting hot, met more people from Ontario.

Where are we today ?
Just more sun shinny warm weather here. Boring for you? Sorry, thats what we are here for. After computing and coffees, early morning walkabouts the resort. Down by the Colorado River and just having a great day.
nice path by the river
lotsa bamboo here too
Around 9 am Suzie and I headed to Blythe for a few supplies. Cold stuff for her a few groceries only 8 minutes away.
Back home we stopped by the office and pool to pick up a permit to wash  our coach and car. Only $5.00 for both. Good deal!
nice pool, and hot tub
Now we had an early lunch then I proceeded to wash all the dirt and dust off our coach and car, Starting at the roof. Sure looks better now!
We even had time to read our books for a while in the shade, need shade , getting pretty hot here in the sun. 85f in the shade.
Now around 4 pm headed on down to Ron and Loree's for "happy hour". Jim and Judi, and Denis and Diane showed up too from Windsor Ontario, the Ontario crowd is getting bigger here!
Snacks and conversation flowed like water, where did the time go!
Then Ron got his accordion out and played some amazing tunes for us! Name that tune. Polkas and all, some we did not know. He has played this amazing instrument for most of his life.
great polka's
I made a short video below of this tune that everyone knows, (Tennessee Waltz) hope you can view it. Ron has not played much for the last ten years, so think he did pretty good, we enjoyed it.
Happy hour extended until we just had to head home to whip up supper. Awesome weather !  A good time was had by all. Even a few neighbors dropped by to enjoy his playing too.
Fired up our Weber Q as the sun was beginning to set again. Quick and easy tonight. Grilled salmon with dill sauce. (check my recipe Blog on the top of the side bar for the recipe)
another nice sunset
salmon with dill sauce
Added a rice pilaf and a fresh baked bun from the store to round off a quick, easy and very tasty meal.
sure was tasty
While enjoying supper we did something we very seldom do. Watched tv. At 6 pm there was a 50 year anniversary special of the Beattles. Ed Sullivan clips and so on. I do remember when they invaded north America. Would they make it? I was not really a fan at the time but do remember all those great songs.
As usual I watched bits and pieces of the special, and enjoyed some parts of it, but sure brought back a lot of memories! The special ended up excellent!
Now eventually time to call it a night. Windows open, great for sleeping, fresh air. A bit of road noise here for Suzie. Not for me though, take out the hearing aides and all is very quiet for me.
Thanks for stopping in once again, to see how we enjoy this lifestyle as full time rv'ers.

  2. My uncle played the accordion. We are Italian so most of his songs were polkas. The sounds they can make with that instrument are amazing.

  3. Now all you guys talking about the Beatles special have made me wish we did have TV!! I have slept with ear plugs for a large portion of my adult life, I put them in and hear no road noise. On the other hand, the cowboy hears everything--he had a hard time in the RV park we used in Aransas Pass, TX while he was working last winter.

    1. We don't watch a lot of tv, but some shows we do enjoy.
Even when I could hear well, noise never kept me awake.

  4. Interesting seating arrangement you accordian player has devised. Every musician likes to have things just perfect.

    1. He needed to be upright with no arms on the chair, works for him.

  5. It truly is a nice spot where you are. I love having a body of water nearby. It is so refreshing seeing green and blue amid all the desert colours.
We do have musicians too around here. Sometimes I regret not having learned to play the guitar or arccordion instead of a mere flute. It such a gem when it comes to having them around a bon fire.

  10. That salmon looks delicious! You often post photos of the foods you fix... but how about telling us what books you two are reading? While I often read mysteries, I always love to hear what other like....
