Where are we today ?
Today we had a plan. At least we thought we had a plan. We wanted to take a drive to Long Beach California and tour the Queen Mary. A bit more research and told us a 90 minute drive. Pay for parking and $25:00 each to do a self guided tour of the ship. Not really in our budget so we canned that idea and decided to just enjoy the great weather we have here.
Walkabouts the resort, puttering around and we had another great day.

It is a very nice resort lots to see and do, except for the road noise right beside I-10, probabaly not come back here again as nice as it is.
We did enjoy some more reading in the shade. new book for Suzie today, below.

With a 90 minute drive each way, I would probably can it too. You never know what kind of traffic you'll be running into either so it could have been an all day event. Duchess probably wouldn't like to be left all alone all day long either.

DeleteWe drove right by Beaumont today didn't know you were there. We can't do those long trips because of the dogs.

DeleteJust think how relaxed you were by dinnertime as opposed to how frazzled and broke you'd be if you had to drive to Long Beach and then tour the Queen Mary.

ReplyDeleteNot much of a tourist type place goer... too many free things to see ~ I did do Hearst Castle in San Simeon years back... it was really fun seeing that kind of opulence and the history?! The ceilings were different in each room and the view! ... can not imagine anyone having that kind of money ~ well, yes, I can imagine but jeeeez
Have you been on Highway 1? it's really not for huge ol rigs but parts of it are okay. Just a magnificent highway. The prettiest part of California to me.
Not been on Hwy 1 yet, someday we hope to get there.
